Harry, as someone who’s learned almost four full albums of strokes songs on guitar, what do you think is the hardest riff or solo to play out of all their songs? This sounds hella lame but that little triad picking thing Valensi does on the 12th fret at the very end of YOLO is so difficult for me, I just can never get it up to speed without hitting a wrong string
My English is not very good, but I wanted to say that I like your videos a lot and that you are my role model of how I want to get to play the guitar. I hope I wrote it well
The Jekyll and hyde and the Fender Hot rod IS the Strokes sound. So why using a Proco rat into voxish amp? It doesn't sound like the strokes sorry.. The jekyll and hyde is a Tube screamer and a Marshall shredmaster so you could approximate the strokes sound with a TS 808 and a Wampler pinnacle into a Deluxe reverb for example. A Rat into a Hamstead is more like an Arctic Monkeys sound.. This video should be called "how to sound like any 2000s indie rock band"
The blackbird was used to show how you could get a fender amp tone with any amp using that pedal, the DRV, is ratish, but set clean it sounds very similar to the Jekyll :)
I fcking love the strokes so much!!! They’re the reason i started playing guitar!! My cousins were teenagers when the strokes debuted so they constantly went to their shows all around los angeles, i definitely envied them for that but i was such a small child so they’re forgiven as they bought me all of their albums 😂 this band is a huge part of my life and my family as well :-) thank you so much for this video 😁
I just got one in from Reverb…The V1 Red still in the box barely touched. The Overdrive is very good for the used price around $130 or so. The distortion though I only found pretty good for solos and octaves. They are way too noisy imo turn on together. The distortion I probably wouldn’t use as my main, just solo and octaves. But the OD is where it’s at. Just turn the gain down from 1 to 25% and crank the volume up. OD is the easy part, but as I said distortion is a bit weird for me in full chords…but with effects or solos it cuts through and can get gnarly tones! The Red V1 doesn’t pop up much these days though, and people keep asking way too much even for solves at $180+
I love this guy, brilliant mate - getting they're tone down is difficult, they're both lead guitarists really, the rhythm session is amazing, and soft lad aka Cassablank write these tunes somehow? Under rated genius 5 piece
Same, I wanna hear "If You Really Love Nothing" or "Anywhere" / "My Blue Supreme" or even "The Heinrich Maneuver" or the obvious "Obstacle 1" (so many good ones)
Hi Harry, great video as always. Could you do a video for beginners who would love to get into electric guitars but not really sure where to start. Maybe suggest a budget setup as well. Cheers :)
Do you have any tips for playing a combination of Nick and Albert’s parts? It’s why I don’t try to learn Strokes songs because of the dual guitar thing.

Either what you said, or the double note arpeggios in Vision of Division for sure! :)
Can you please, Harry do a cover on "On Mercury" RHCP. Nobody did a good one yet.
Sure! :)
If I could just play and write riffs in league, I’d be set.

Sounds really good! Tones sound bang on!

@@HarryAndAGuitar OK but the strokes never Cranked their amps.. The hot rod were clean and the drive only come from the jekyll..

GRANDEEEEEEEEEE THE STROKES , Banda de las GOD (⌐■-■)
Been waiting for a top 5 strokes songs for a while! You never disappoint mate :D
Thanks man! :)
You don't need these boutique pedals, just a Jekyll and Hyde, it is cheaper and sounds the same as the strokes.

I have a Jekyll & Hyde V3 and Boss Katana hoping to replicate these tones!

Fantástico, espero puedas hacer otro vídeo pero de los mejores solos 😃🙂😎👌👍🎶
Could you do Heart in a Cage please? Wanna get that lead guitar tone
Sure! :)
Hi Harry, can you recommend me a good quality camera?😅
What’s your budget?
@@HarryAndAGuitar in your opinion if it isn’t to much work for you, recommend me 3 cameras being one low, one mid and one high, please
I love the strokes and your channel is dope!
Thank you! :)
You can be one of The Strokes if you want!!!!!, great video bro 😃
Thanks man! :)
Nice video as always! Nick and Albert's guitars always amaze me 😍 would you consider to play some Fontaines d.c. stuff too?
Single coils are so neat. I hope we see more mass produced guitars set up like your gibson. Tired of humbuckers being a default.
