Nice review, I am looking to get one one these for my birthday. Looks like you're cruising around Southern Cali. Based on what you are saying in the video I will probably get the base model and add what I want, a metal skid plate over plastic.. But i have to price it out.
Very laid back which I enjoyed. Totally get his point about choosing the V Strom and myself also enjoy a chilled cruise in the country. Not much of a showcase of the bikes ability though. I mean `let`s open it up a bit` and he`s doing 40 mph and talking about how maneuverable it is... come on dude, a little slower and you`ll be reversing :)
Hi - I too have 2014 'Strom and enjoyed your take on bike. I'm also a taller rider, but you've spent more time on a wide variety of bikes, so hearing your thoughts on the experience reinforces my satisfaction with my decision. Mine is the "naked" version, and I'd be curious to know which of the accessories on the Adv. model have been most useful to you. During break-in I faithfully kept to 4000rpm, and I was interested to note you liked staying with the lower revs, even though pull like an house-on-file to at least 7000rpm. Again, thanks for sharing.
+Robert Sikkema Staying low in the revs doesn't have anything to do with the bike, just me being mellow, my first motovlog ;)I think its best to get the base. I would seek out more experienced vstrom guys like apairofstroms and others to see what they put on their bike. The one thing off the adv package I like is the engine guards. Skidplate is the first thing to add, Suzuki (not the plastic one), givi or sw-motech. I just got a givi taller windescreen. I should do a vid about accessories and adv package, such a large topic, good idea.
Good question. Well in my latest video I want on and on about the tracer. If you are short and want electronic cruise control go for the tracer. If youre tall, go off road, and love vtwins go for the vstrom. Find a dealer with both of them and try them out. One of them will speak to you.
+Lifted_Above have not ridden them but had a super Duke and other high end bikes. The difference in suspension is significant. KTM are fantastic, the best. But be warned not all models sold in US. The old 1050 and maybe new 1190 street not sold here. The new 1290 s will come here. Check 44teeth for review.
Have one. Great. True 50/50 riding daily.
Highly reccomend
Yes! Been looking at the new XT with alum panniers, very cool. Its blue with a red shock which I find odd.
man you are a great driver!

+Trevor Vera Thanks! I just posted a video about the accessories.

Hey cpuspeed, thanks for the alert - I've got the Givi Airflow on my shopping list, and I'd be grateful to hear your take on it. Best,
Robert
Curious, at your size (I’m similar), what sport bikes have you found most comfortable?
How comfortable are those grips?
What do you like about the bike that's all I've been hearing is the negative.
I would check out my 1000 long term review video for more info.
V strom or tracer gt?

Have you ridden the 1090, 1190, or 1290 ADV bikes from KTM? If so, what's your thoughts? If your budget stretched that far, would you do it?
