In the final episode, characters refer to her as "the healer", so I do believe she learnt how to force heal. This explains the rapid aging, since force healing requires you to give some of your life to the other.
Ah, maybe that's how the sequels explained Force healing, but that's not how it works. Barriss aged probably because she healed herself from the darkside, and then worked herself ragged in a fairly harsh environment. Force healing is tapping into the Living Force and using that to accelerate the natural healing processes in a living being, which IS physically taxing, causing the healer to be exhausted for weeks. A harsh environment only makes that worse.

Mirialans can live up to 150 years. I think she healed so many, giving up years of her life for others. Force energy from one to another.
Quigon Jinn says that getting stabbed in the stomach and not dying is BS according to Charlie Hopkins Version. As you know that’s how he died in the Phantom Menace. Sabine Wren in Ashoka took the same wound and survived.
Tales of the empire was amazing and they did a great job with Barriss's story.

I don't think species is a factor, considering that not only did Luminara age well despite being older than Barriss, works in the High Republic era revealed that Mirialans can live a long time (and not just Vernestra; General Viess, who isn't Force-sensitive, lived at least 170 years, and she was elderly by Mirialan standards by Phase III).
If anything, it's likely Barriss has been sacrificing her life-force as a healer.
Different species, healing probably takes a lot from the user, or more likely the rebels animation style and the clonewars/tales animation style are completely different.

She was one of the few that where on par with Ashoka`s "looks". And as we clearly see from her Jedi master(same species) She looks hot when "old" So going by that logic, Barriss should also grow up looking all hot and everything.... You havee seen the clone wars series? right? so that different species logic, does not compute....
A ahsoka species Gives her a lifespan of a few hundred years so She is going to be young for a long time 😅 That's Probably the reason she hasn't had any kids yet Because she can wait

Bariss was a Mirialan which are known for their youthful appearance but Bariss was under a lot of stress and Mirialans don’t do well under stress. A Mirialan Jedi lost her hair as the Nihl were going wild thanks to stress. They do better in a light attuned environment that heals them. It’s why they make great force healers and Librarians. They are lower stress jobs and don’t see much combat. They also are great politicians that work for the Jedi. They always practice form 3 or 6 depending on specific job. Mirialans aren’t fighters but will defend themselves.

I would have loved a full TV show about Lyn and Barris. I didn't expect to see Lyn outside of Obi-Wan but she is really interesting as a character.
I feel like most deaths and non deaths make sense in the force way, like outside of real kill shots like beheading and random fodder kills. The hate keeps them from wanting to die so it keeps them going, ones that died from more survivable deaths may have been ready to become ones with the force or just were okay with letting go of life or used up their force essence up

Jedi Sentinels were Jedi who dabbled in both lightsaber combat and Force abilities. Jedi Consulars focused solely on Force abilities and Jedi Guardians focused solely on lightsaber combat.
Different race, Ahsoka has the Daughter's life essence in her, Barriss was Force healing and that takes a toll.

Sun damage stress space travel and sure he is "human" but humans varry.
My head canon is that his transformation to Rako Hardeen caused his rapid aging. This would explain why that technology was never used again.

Stress, different species, using the dark side ages a user too, and once giving up the dark side using force heal likely drains her life force I am guessing.
I forget what her species is… but the leader of the Jedi order (the green bald chick) in the old republic series is the same species and about 147 years old based on what the comics say about her…
I thought Bariss was older since she fought in the first battle of Geonosis in Episode II.

Sentinels are the middle of the Jedi classes. Guardians are combat focused and Consulars are force focused mystics like Yoda. A Sentinel is the in-between.

Its also just as likely that the Barriss use of the Dark Side had the same effect on her it does everyone else. The Dark Side drains lifeforce (so to speak) and ages one terribly based on much was used. As far as we can tell there is no way to reverse the effect once it starts.

lifestyle or not, Barriss is a Mirialan, which in Disney canon they can never agree on what kind of lifespan and aging process they have. Some sources say 60s is venerable while in others like the High Republic / Acolyte, we have Vernestra Rwoh, who was 16 in her novel debut in the year 232 BBY but, Acolyte takes place in 132 BBY. This would make her 116 years old in the show while she barely looks late 40s early 50s.
Seems weird they made Barriss look so old in the 19 years between RotS and NH.
I’m going to lead toward her own biology and her use of the dark side corrupting some of her cells during the clone wars and as an inquisitor aging her.
Edit: forgot to include this but maybe the environment she’s living in has dried her out a little, made he rougher/wrinkled making her look older
BARRISS IS MIRIALAN AND SHE IS A SPECIES THAT AGES SLOWER COMPARED TO HUMANS BUT BY USING THE VITAL FORCE OF HER BODY TO HEAL PEOPLE THAT'S WHY SHE AGES FASTER, IN THE EPISODE "THE WAY OUT" SHE IS THE SAME AGE AS AHSOKA IN THE AHSOKA SERIES, LOOKS ABOUT 40-50 YEARS OLD.

I am no expert but could it also be that they are differently because they are differently alien species? I mean Yoda could get older then others so perhaps she just looks older because her species doesn't get that old in comparison

Bariss, in reality, is in Anakin's age. Filoni de-aged her into a teenager just to make Ahsoka have a friend around her age.

Yeah… Kenobi. He and Satine were around the same age. Bo-Katan was a couple years younger. Kenobi has trained since he was 3, so he’s not a good yardstick for using his skill set to guesstimate his age. But Bo-Katan, though the younger sister, was a fully trained and battle hardened Mandalorian warrior when we first see her in the Clone Wars. She was even second in command of Death Watch, until she left it when Maul took over. So if she’s the same age as, maybe a few years younger than, Kenobi… explain to me how she looks fine as Hell in the MandoVerse shows, which are set five years AFTER Kenobi died, looking like Sir Alec Guinness? It’s great they used the voice actress from the cartoon for the live action. They mostly don’t, when characters cross over. I know Billy Dee Williams did the voice of Lando in the Rebels show. But there’s no way a 60-70yr old woman is looking as fine as a 44yr old Kate Sackhoff. Maybe she had a Barca tank in the palace that got blown up. Still, seems kind of sus to me.
Okay can someone please explain to me how when a lightsaber can "poke" someone & they live? Because in TPM Qui Gon stabs those blast doors & it generates so much heat the doors melt! And that is multiple doors! So being stabbed ANYWHERE seems to suggest that your organs are being cooked like in a microwave oven by the intense heat being generated. But a knife takes out a Jedi as if God himself struck them down. -_-
How powerful is Barriss? I think she has become more powerful than we can possibly imagen.
She eats organic whole foods and exercises regularly. Nothing processed.

don't targutas live to like 150-200 years. mirialans live 100. Ashoka wont start getting true crows feet let alone wrinkles till she's probably closer to 80-90. bariss was almost 40 so ya crows feet it is for her.

Plain and simple
Even if it's just inconsistent with other star wars stories, it seems intentional within that specific episode. Changing the 3D model for Barris didn't just happen out of nowhere, at some point of the art production they made that decision to have an artist make the change, when it would have been easier to just leave the face rig as is. And they also didn't adjust the inquisitor's 3D model to look older, and it's not like she was just in the background of that episode, she was the main focus.
lol do we really need to milk this, easiest answer here is they arent the same species. Lol to make these videos shows you are running out of ideas
