I like Tubi the most. Pluto is great but the commercials are hard to deal with and scrubbing back or forward with demand content almost impossible. Plex is good too.
Sometimes, the services are selective as to which seasons they will post. So, if you've already seen seasons 1 and 2 recently and are ready for season 3, it really doesn't help if they aren't listing season 3. Or maybe you want to revisit a show you haven't seen in years or it's a show you've never seen before that someone recommended, it doesn't help if season 1 isn't available to be able to start from the beginning.
I subscribe to most of the major paid streaming services but hardly ever watch anything on ad-supported services. That's not because I am not interested in the content, in fact, I am increasingly nostalgic in my middle age for older TV shows I enjoyed as a kid in the 70s and 80s. But I just don't have any patience for ads anymore. That's kind of ironic since, aside from PBS, there was no way to avoid TV commercials when I was a kid. We weren't able to fast-forward through commercials until we got our first VCR in 1984. But DVRs and ad-free on-demand streaming have spoiled me. I would probably be willing to pay for ad-free versions of several of the services that Luke recommended, but I don't want to watch the ads.
Good job as usual Luke! 😊 Thanks for keeping us up to date on free ad supported apps (FAST), who owns them, and that they offer their catalogs there as well.
I prefer Roku over the Fire Stick. I’ve been watching a lot of Tubi lately, mainly Welcome Back, Kotter. Also love Pluto for Beavis and Butt-Head, South Park, The Andy Griffith Show, and more.
What stinks is T-Mobile home internet assigns your IP dynamically, in Iowa I can't watch my local PBS as it appears I am in Minneapolis, Indianapolis or Sioux City most of which average 300 miles away based on which one shows up today
You can use the individual PBS app which allows you to list your own location. The PBS app has a settings button you can use to set your location. I use the PBS app and I see stations from Maryland Washington DC and New York City.
@@deniseg8312 ok the app on my smart TV always tells me I'm not in their coverage area if my IP was switched to another city.. you are lucky, I live east of Des Moines Iowa and can't watch certain shows the single broadcast shared over multiple cities towers and channels
Filmrise has good content. But the commercial breaks seems longer than other free channels. So if the show is on another free channel, I watch it there.
It would be refreshing to see another streaming device than Roku being reviewed and demonstrated. My response to “that’s because it’s the most popular streaming device” is that one reason it is the most popular is because everybody uses it in their demos. People naturally like something that’s familiar, so they get what they see. I have an Apple TV (and NO, not 4K, either). I have never seen anyone using it as their demonstration device. I don’t think it’s fair to always use Roku exclusively, as you are cutting out a noticeable portion of your audience. And, in fairness, I know that Nvidia Shield owners (as just one example) would appreciate seeing their devices as well. And I would also appreciate seeing how other devices look and work. So am I saying “only use Apple TV or anything else but Roku”? No. But I am saying that spreading the love (so to speak) would serve your audience better. I know this can’t be done for free. If you only got one device every few months or so, it can be more affordable. You should know that if I didn’t like and appreciate your work on this channel, I wouldn’t bother making this request. This is my feedback on how you can make an already good channel even better-and helping your channel grow and better support your families.
Stop apologizing, people are getting all this info from you for free. I, and others should be appreciative of all you do! So you pushed the wrong button…….who Cares? Good job!!
So many free streaming services with ad support. It's not even funny. Let the ad play. I think you make more via sub than a ad. Just saying. People cry and complaing about ads. But you wouldn't cry if it's your channel and company! Gettem Luke! 😮😂
I hear you. I have a Nvidia Shield & was my best investment for streaming. Never tried Roku. But comparing a Shield to let's say a Amazon Firestick is like comparing a Mercedes to a tricyle.

one problem the services don't let you binge watch anymore, because they show new content weekly just like network channels now

I simply wait until almost all the episodes have been posted on the service before subscribing. Then I binge watch and move on to another the service.
Free is it for me.With my outdoor antenna & free streaming,im good.I do try free trials though but thats it.👍👊📺
Great info. Thank you

@CordCuttersNews Don't forget that Vudu has free with Ads as well.

I love The Roku Channel original programming.!
I prefer Roku over the Fire Stick. I’ve been watching a lot of Tubi lately, mainly Welcome Back, Kotter. Also love Pluto for Beavis and Butt-Head, South Park, The Andy Griffith Show, and more.
Do you foresee RUclips TV offering Root Sports? Love your content. Thanks
Good morning. :)
Glad to see you back on RUclips. Why did they put a slewv of articles on The Chrome website instead?
Good information

The title should be changed to :"The Top 10 FREE streaming services for ROKU devices". You're Welcome!
To Me Pluto Tv Is The Best And Second Would Be The Roku Channel
I mean where can you subscibe to locals in your area ?
Roku Channel streams to any device you don't need Roku merch. The title's a bit misleading.
But why does NBC not have free acces to daily entertainment

Now that the Android base NVIDIA shields has 800 free channel features it is one of the best free streaming content around
Six of one, half a dozen of another. It all depends on what you like. None is better than the other.
Filmrise has good content. But the commercial breaks seems longer than other free channels. So if the show is on another free channel, I watch it there.
Where are we to get local channels CBS NBC ABC Where 60 minuts prime time?
Antenna, if it works for you.

How can we get Freevee in canada
Stop apologizing, people are getting all this info from you for free. I, and others should be appreciative of all you do! So you pushed the wrong button…….who
Cares? Good job!!
Would you pay for this?
I wouldn't Pay for this and if he charged I'd go to another RUclipsr
How to u like that TCL product? I am thinking about getting that brand.
It's great, love mine!
Pluto TV beats the competition
Telling us Tubi is Fox owned decreases the channel subscribers in some ways
Lol dumb

Never liked Roku as they don't like 3rd party apps like Android boxes do.

@@rogers6168 absolutely as I have my own streaming TV app
Why are these videos always about the Roku? The Apple TV is a superior streamer and gets no attention.
