When we had a cow we just shook the cream in a jar and shook it for 10 minutes or so to make butter!
Same
That’s the way Montessori schools teaches the kids too.
I tried that once and I gave up after 1-2 minutes. I didn't enjoy it.
That’s what I do every two weeks! Nothing better than fresh butter
@@shac9131 😂
Always love how excited Kaylee gets over the smallest things, like making butter. You have a beautiful personality Kaylee. - Jen, watching from 🇨🇦
Can’t believe Sadie grew up to an amazing toddler right infront of our eyes. She’s just perfect
Now don't let this go to your heads.... I've been following you since the Trent and Allie days. I follow both of you and them. With that being said between the two channels I LOVE your journey more! I applaud what you have done and the spirit you possess. The family you have created and the joy that explodes from your videos!
You guys are so precious I look forward to when your videos post and today I can actually say I was first to watch it😂👍
I'm right there with you on all of that. :)
I agree.
Agree
Trent and allie are pure boring
The vibe is just so joyful and spontaneous. . . Their interactions with each other & friends / family just gushes a love of life, no matter what’s going on.
Thank you so so so much for the update of Rog the cat!!!🎉🐈💗 Can you put him in a video so we can see him again? I miss seeing him in your vids!! Love you guys!!!💚🌞💙
When I was a kid, we lived on an off grid farm in Wisconsin. We cooked on a wood stove that also heated the house. We made butter, root beer, soap, and grew all are veggies and raised all our own meat. Plus, we had an orchard of everything that grew here. My grandmother only shopped 2 times a year for flour and sugar. I guess that's why I watch. I like to see you fiqure it out.😊
Ah! two videos a week 🥰 the bathroom looks great, everyone on Lola's farm deserves this! Can't wait to see the finished product!
So happy to hear Rodrigo is on a romantic adventure.
I just can't stop thinking about how you guys are living life the way it should be. Sadie is growing to be such a smart, beautiful little girl that is blessed to have two wonderful parents and a community family that is filled with love and respect. Love from Chicago.
I’m so excited for y’all to have a bathroom! I can’t imagine showering outside with all that wind. Sadie is growing so fast and so beautiful!!! Y’all are doing great!!!
Multi Talented !!!
The moment the dogs took Jordan by storm... the stuff to make you smile for days along with Sadie's unbridled joy. Love these videos. ;)
You have a great audience to Complain to because you are so loved and respected. We "feel ya"!
“To all the cougars” LMAO!! 😂 I’m so happy for Rodrigo!! Your bathroom is coming along nicely guys!! 😊❤
Do you have Rodrigo's channel name?
@@VintageMe23 yep! It’s Da jungleboy 😊❤️
@@TheHavasu_77 thank you!
@@VintageMe23 Rodrigo channel is called " Da jungle boy"💞
What a difference a plan, motivation, ingenuity and hard work, over a couple of years , can improve your living situation! Go figure!! 😎👍
It's lovely that you showed Enrique how to build that pump (I'm very mechanical and even I had never heard of such a thing!), but it's HIS new found knowledge now, and HIS turn to share it with those he loves...and his turn to get to be the "hero". If you go down to "help him", you'd be stealing his thunder and taking away his moment to shine. And worst of all, the domino effect of kindness and gifting that you started with the sharing of YOUR knowledge will be tainted into an unforeseen ego battle that would likely damage your relationship with both those young men, and possibly even the folks in that village. We'd all like to think that a gift is totally free (or it just becomes a "trade") and has no strings, but the joy of spreading the gift is its own reward, and grappling with the ego of that is the lesson attached. Let him have HIS moment to shine...we all need that. Lynn
To separate the cream from the milk, we’d put the milk in a dispenser with a spout at the bottom. Then use the spout to drain out the milk and leave the cream once it’s separated. You can also churn the butter by putting cream in a jar and shaking it. Good that washed the butter to make it last longer. The buttermilk has so many uses.
I like the butter churn!!! I might get one too. All the adorable animals love life on the mountain!!! 🤗❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🇨🇦
I have no idea how you are arranging help for rodrigo .. but all the help you are offering to pay fir him to help him complete his house… much love and thankfulness for your kindness and gratitude!!! Love you guys!
I’m truly impressed with how fast the bathroom/sauna is coming together. I’m taking a lot of inspiration from what you two are building. Thank you both for sharing your thoughts, experiences, and stories.
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Lola's farm featured in a " Home & Garden " magazine one day. Everything is looking incredible.
The bathroom looks so good! Can't wait to see it finished!
Thank you, again, for your inspiring lives! You bring so much joy to my life! Can’t wait for your beautiful bathroom/sauna/laundry room to be finished and your first use of it!!
I grew up on a farm with a dairy. Me and my siblings would sit in front of the TV watching cartoons on Saturday mornings with cream in a glass mayonnaise jar and make butter by rocking the jar back and forth. Took 15-30 minutes and the butter formed into a clump. No clean up like what has to be scraped off of the paddle with a churn.
Love it when you guys post, watching you is time well spent. Happy to see Rodrigo has a lady in his life.
Glad to hear Rodrigo got away for a bit too. It's always nice for a fresh start when you come back. You two are doing a great job too. Can't wait to see it all finished
Do you have Rodrigo's channel name?

When my kids were homeschooled they took a class where they made cathead biscuits in a Dutch oven and also made butter for the the biscuits by just shaking the cream in a jar for 5-10 minutes my kids loved it and the jar was free 😁 well we recycled it from something we bought. Anyways it’s cool to see you guys having fun on your farm
So love all the JOY you guys transmit ))) to us from your Tropical New England 🌺🍍
I absolutely love being able to watch your progress weekly, bi-weekly :). You all bring a smile to my face with your love for life. As for Lola she is perfect, don't worry about her weight because babies seem to gain weight and get pudgy just before a growth spurt so she will need the extra to support the energy to grow. But she is absolutely beautiful. Also can't wait to see your bathroom with a view.
A nice thought for Kaylee and it's true their baby is growing every day. But Lola is their dog and Sadie is their child. 🙂
A couple pounds is okay, but Lola is getting a lot of exercise and shouldn't be gaining much weight and if I'm not mistaken, they feed her a special diet very different than the rest of dogs.
🦋 Another wonderful video that bathroom building looks absolutely beautiful. Well done the scones look delicious. I love seeing the result of your hard work with each step of the way that you go. So glad to see Sadie Jo doing so good. Much love and many blessings to you all and all of the animals and the nature that surrounds you. ✨🌙☀️☔️🌬️
It makes me so happy to see you guys live the good life and mean it!!
I can only imagine how difficult it is trying to put that stuff up in the wind in the rain. God bless y’all! I have one of those butter things and I can’t believe you’re just holding it up by the handle on the lid turning it that the bottom didn’t fall off. Because I don’t think the lid twist on if I remember correctly. I have one of those it’s cool. Thanks for sharing your life with us. The scenery is beautiful and so is your family! Blessings.
I'm 60 as I watch your video's, if I was 15 you would inspire me on how life should be lived. Thanks for sharing!!!!
You are making so much progress on the bathroom, it's looking so good! Homemade caramel, yum! You guys are rockin' it!
You did awesome very proud of you You know I had mentioned it on Eamon and Becs channel they're doing that dog rescue place which is so nice of them and it's beautiful and it's so nice to see these dogs being treated so kind but it's a coffee shop You should send your coffee down there and donate it and people will start learning I bet your brandin Mexico just a thought
Your love in everything you do, and how you guys take care of one another&your baby, your animals, your plants, etc.,is admirable❤
Oh, you guys!! Awesome. I use the same style of Hot Water Heater. A female rat made a nest in one of them without the cover on, so it stayed off until we changed it out. When we did, we put a cage around the whole thing. Works like a champ!! Be Well!!
Love y’all! Hubby and I have been watching for awhile we’ll since the beginning of the property. So needless to say we love y’all. From: Florida
The dedication when you two are filming, exhausted, at the end of the day is inspiring. I love the positive attitude you bring too.
🦋 I forgot to mention that I got my slow Joe today. Wow wow wow wow I haven’t tasted it yet. I’m brewing a pot as I’m typing but when I opened the package, my entire studio is filled with a luscious smell of those whole beans. Have a great day. Thanks for making mine great!
The bathroom is looking good, and you only have one wall and a few small pieces to finish that part of the build. Sadie is wonderful. I have a suspicion that she likes the scones you made.
In our classroom every thanksgiving, we make our own butter from cream, and we just use a mason jar that we shake until it’s done.
I use my kitchen aid mixer to make butter. No churning required. The mixer does all the work. Just make sure to express all the liquid from the butter. Nothing better than homemade butter! You can add honey too...yum
What a fantastic idea! I frequent a local farmers market on the weekend and one of the vendors sells goat milk!
@@cathyo7393 If you try it with a mixer make sure you cover the top with something or you will have a horrible mess with buttermilk splashing out all over. Ask me how I know....LOL
Thanks. I have seemingly been part of your journey for almost the begining. At 82 my time for such a life is over, but it's fun to make that trip with you'al
Love the bi- weekly post, your videos are always such fun.
It also works to just screw the jar lid on tight and pulse-shake the jar until the butter is formed. The liquid butter milk is also great.
I wondered where Rodrico was off to. Young and in love, how wonderful! You two are in the parent stage and crushing it! I love watching all of you grow, as a do the same in the "Wise Woman" stage. Here we all go.......
Totally agree with you on the weather. Rain and wind together is no fun. The bathroom structure is looking great. Can't wait to see it finished. I'm sure you're both looking forward to that as well. Keep up the hard work 👍💪
When I was a kid we would make a trip to Washington DC every couple of years and on the way we stopped in Virginia at one of my fathers favorite roadside stops and purchase his favorite ,'' goats milk fudge''. I have not had any in years, and I hope that since you are experimenting with goats milk that you try it. Enjoy
The Bath is SO stylish looking. . . You guys are each very amazing.
Sadie Looks exactly like HER DAD 100% and is a BEAUTIFUL Little Girl….Kaylee again YOU are the PERFECT Young Lady and the
Word LADY is YOU…..I just LOVE ❤️ You Guys and have been watching ALL of your Videos…They are WONDERFUL….
Watching from Virginia 🌹
When we had a jersey cow, we took the cream and put it into the blender until the butter separated and floated to the top. After poured off the butter milk, and left the butter in the blender and poured ice water in the blender to rinse the butter. Love all your videos!
The bathroom is looking good! I'm excited to see it come together. I can see how much you have grown as builders since doing the workshop!
Also, as soon as I saw that churn my brain instantly started thinking of ways to attach a drill to it. 😂
I have 2 of them. They are FANTASTIC. I put a non slip mat underneath so it doesn’t move. Give it a thorough thorough wash in cold water after the butter has formed so it doesn’t go rancid. I use cream from the shop but I would rather fresh milk straight from the animal. Also I keep and freeze the buttermilk for later. Add the tiniest pinch of salt if you like salt. The butter is beautiful as it is though. ❤
Love this channel...I wonder why it isn't growing faster! One thing I do miss is you all interacting with Rodrigo. Since he films his channel and he only makes quick appearances on yours anymore, I miss the interaction between you all because it is part of the magic. I'm not complaining at all but just like to see you all together more...maybe you could take turns being on each other's channels. One more thing...that little Sadie has to be the cutest, smartest little girl I have ever seen! What great parents you are! Thank you for sharing your lives! :)
I have watched you all since the early days of the van and when you shared your dreams of a farm, you all put in the work and made it happen!
When I was growing up on a farm we used a separator to separate the cream from the milk. From our cows..
Great video!!! Glad Lola is doing better.❤😂
Ps: chickens love buttermilk as a treat and it makes their eggs very nice.
I just LOVE your JOURNEY LOVE FROM MICHIGAN 🙋♀️🐶
I want a butter machine now 😆 Your crushing that bathroom.....i can already see the hanging plants in the Windows lol
I also learned how to make butter...2-3 weeks ago!!!
If I had known how easy it was to make it...I would have started making it years ago!!!
I use butter for everything and I use alot of it!!! Good job!!!
Got that right...just north of Boston...cold in the 30s and freezng rain for tonight. Spring has left the chat room.
I hear ya about the leverage. I did the trim on my house 2 stories up and leverage is even harder when you are a female and not quite as strong. Your coffee table is BEAUTIFUL as is Sadie, so adorable.
Great progress guys! I am so glad Uncle Rodman is back! Tell him I missed his vlogs, okay. I hope he had a good time with his latest gf...:)
Time to get back to the A-frame build...a house is not a home yet! The butter turned out pretty good...cannot wait until you can make goatmilk butter...and goatmilk buttermilk? I like the name Uncle Rod, Thanks Kaylee for choosing Uncle Rod, instead of Uncle Bobby...:)
I have this churn and it is the best, easy for small kids to help too and see where their food comes from.
Kaley I ❤️ how you make all your dairy products reminds me growing up in DR my mother used to make butter, cheese and butter milk. Almost everything was made from scratch and fresh all the vegetables and fruit from a local farmers market or grown in my dads farm. I miss those days 🥲 I ❤️❤️ your bathroom is looking good 👏 You guys are like the next Home Improvement just need the strange neighbor or like MacGyver 😂😂😂 Love Sadie 😘 God Bless you and stay safe.
Love your excitement trying new recipes. With your scones, they will be light and fluffy if you barely mix the flour and just shape the dough(definitely no kneading required). Well done with the bathroom too looking good❤️✨
7:23 the no shower head is admirable. With 380,000 subscribers they’re probably earning $400,000 per year in revenue, are among the richest 1% of households in the world. They could easily build a wall around the shower, then add a shower head. But not doing it, is a reminder of humility.
Don’t apologize for disliking the wind. Even from Canada, I hate wind at any temperature 🇨🇦
So happy for you guys! Living the dream for sure! 😊 loving the bathroom /sauna build and love seeing what yummy goodness you are baking as well! And I'm so happy to hear Lola is doing good. 🙏 😍 love you guys!
You guys make me smile! Just the little things in life make you guys so happy And Sadie she is just getting cuter and cuter every day And smart too !! Sending Love and light!!!❤💖❤
Thank you for stopping her from complaining about 55f being cold. We live in Michigan, midway up the state, at the moment the temperature is 35F, and tomorrow's high is 47. It's usually in the 60f, and we have had a couple of days in the 60sF. But I have missed having our nights getting warmer.
Exactly right! I’m up in Fairbanks, Alaska and we just had wet sleet come down yesterday and the roads are an ice rink. I’d take 50 degrees right now in a heart beat. Lol.
Wow that looks like butter you buy in the shops smooth and creamy
Wow that’s fantastic dripping water night and day soon fill it up 👍
That’s some 5 ⭐️ Out House you got there! 😊Nicest Bathroom in Panama! Nice Job!!!!!!
Love Love Love Lola’s Farm crew!!!! Hugs Nana Kelli in Florida
Good morning! Love all the way from Utah
Sadie is getting so big and she's so beautiful You guys are doing such a wonderful job with her teaching her such great things on Lola's farm she's going to grow up and be such a great person Mucho love family from your friend in Michigan Tam 💜💜
That was one of my chores when I was a kid - churning butter
That custom bathroom/tubroom/sauna is looking awesome. If you guys turned the bus into an AirBnB the selling point for that would be giving customers access to that building. Great job and awesome to see ROD back . Now I know why its been 10 days since he posted a video on his channel.
So cool, you made butter! Thanks for your vids, always so interesting and fulfilling...I think I live vicariously through you 😅 I admire your tenacity, your courage, and so many other things I don't want to gush on about. You quite possibly could have the world's most adorable child, and your coffee is amazing! Stay humble and never get bored! I wish you further success and continued happiness 😊❤
The bathroom is looking really good.
Your videos are getting better, don't stop now!
I am a designer and so impressed w your bathroom! Ordering your butter churner. Love you guys!
Always crushing it ‼️✌🏽❤️🤗
Thanks guys!
Happy Easter to all of you may God Bless.
You rock Jordan!!! The new digs look great!
We also made our own bread and butter when I was young!😊 So awesome
I can’t believe how excited we all are for y’all to have a bathroom!!! It’s looking beautiful!!! ❤
You just need to attach the bathroom to the work shop! 😁
Love watching the progress!!
You can also use a plastic water bottle to make butter. Just fill water bottle about 1/3 bottle with heavy cream and shake vigorously for about 5mins. It's a pretty fun little diy trick.
Seeing you guys living your best life makes me so freakin happy! It’s looking amazing! Love you guys ❤🧡💛
❤❤❤❤❤ love to see you do a version vegan butter and love to see an all hand tool show haha for low power days ... 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
Awesome. Let me add my rant. I did 9-foot tall house wrap on my tiny home by myself in a wind and rain storm off-grid at 10000' in Colorado last summer. Afterward, I felt so accomplished and when I see all the snow piled up against it this winter, I'm sooo happy I did it. You will be too!! (And I'm always so grateful for a shot across the valley so I can see where I spent a summer high up on the breast of Volcan Baru)
Love you dudes , followed for a very long time , so proud of what you have accomplished …..smooth as butter 🧈
Hey temps are relative! I think our bodies adjust to our climate. I’m in Michigan and it actually got to 57 degrees today. We have a 20 hr tornado watch and had thunderstorms and pouring rain all night non-stop. I’m exhausted! But I just changed clothes because I’m too hot!
When you're making popcorn, add about 3Tbs of sugar and a pinch of salt into the pot right after the corn. Keep shaking until popped so sugar doesn't burn. And you have kettle corn! It's the only way i ever make popcorn. Except occasional Carmel corn. Enjoy!
Got my butter churner on order. I have been looking for one for the longest time. Thank you. :)
Makes my day every time. Thank you.
They mostly use concrete and cinder blocks in Panama. You guys should build similar as Florida. A concrete slab. Then cinder blocks external walls. Then Metal roof structure like they use on houses there. Availability of North American house style building materials is very crucial in Panama. In Panama City they use sheetrock and wood more often on new building. For things like to cover pipes and vent ducks that run along the feeling in the corner of the rooms.
