3:42 - whew! Great job navigating that obstacle. My wife took us through there in her 98' Toyota Prius with the windows rolled up, AC cranking and sipping a Mocha-Latte in one hand. lol ;)
@@OrangeBlossom4x4 I did up until the end of last year. There's a lot going on up there. Many of the users are two-way radio, for public safety, commercial, and amateur radio. There's one broadcaster transmitting from up there. I have videos of what's inside some of the buildings on my channel.
Oh shoot! I didn't realize you did Santiago Peak before. The Silverado side (Maple Springs) is pretty much a paved dirt road; I think I saw a Honda Civic coming up as we were going down that side on our way to Orange County! LOL. We came up the Bedford side (Corona); which is more rocky and has some fun turnouts with deep moguls and cross-ruts to play in. Definitely not a side that a Prius can make it up! Let's hit this up together one day and have a BBQ at the top!
@@OrangeBlossom4x4 Bedford is closed due to a property owner no longer allowing people to cross over his small section of land to get to Bedford. Supposedly, the Forest Service had been in negotiations with him, however, that is probably a dead fight... North Main Divide is the other route, however, for some reason it has been closed as well for the past months.
Maples springs trailhead is probably the easiest way from where you’re coming from. I have it linked on the description. Check the website though, sometimes they close those gates.
I think you do need an adventure pass. I would double check with usda website to make sure. I have america the beautiful pass which covers national parks/forests.
I think i took us about 2 hours from the trailhead to the top. We also made a good amount of stops to film. Going down was quicker, maybe about an hour.
@Fernando Mendoza, no worries man. Yes you can. We actually did it , my buddy with a 2wd 4runner. I have another video. Check it out. He did very well.
@Tim Lavallee I use to have those tire deflator kits on amazon. They work well. The initial set up takes time but once you dial it in it’ll save a lot of time airing down since you can air all 4 tires at the same time. Plenty of bideos on youtube on how to set those up initially. Or you can get one of those arb ones with a gauge. I use a portable air compressor to air back up instead of going to the gas station. They sell a bunch in amazon. Ive used Viar and smittybilt in the past and they work great. Napa sells a very powerful air compressor for a very good price. I would consider looking at that as well. Best bang for your buck imo. Hope that helps.

Thats how i would do it if i had a 98 Prius . Off-roading in style 😆 😆
I’m up there for work all the time (usually on the weekdays). See you on the road sometime!
Awesome bro!! Absolutely
Do you work at the towers? I always wondered what’s in those buildings

Hell yea bro, it wasn’t that bad from that side. Easy dirt road. Absolutely though, we can hit this up next time!! Easy day trip
never been there how many entrances is there to this trail and which one do you recommend ?
@@salvadordelatorre-hk6fm There is unfortunately only 1 open entrance left; that is via Maple Springs Road.
Is Bedford even open yet from the fires? I know ITT remains closed, and I heard the resident at Bedford locks the gate

@Anthony Barraza yea man you will be fine. Trail is easy. Unless there’s recent snow or heavy rains I don’t see you having any problems. Have fun!!
I was gonna ask if you get a lot of pin stripes on this trail but the end of the video answered that question. Ouch 😣
Not that bad man just clear coat 😆

Absolutely man, your stock 4runner will do just fine. Have fun!!
Are these trails easy for a 2WD Tacoma?
I got a 09 Ford Escape 4WD with 255 tires and 16inch wheels, I should be good right bro?
Yea bro, you should be fine imo. Trail is easy.
@@MPTrailGroup alright Forsure bro I’m gonna try to record it and post it

@Saucek Dibuja yea you should be fine.
@@MPTrailGroup thankssssss....im gonna hit that trail next saturday....it will be my first time off roading....imm so happy
Awesome man you’re gonna like this trail. Perfect for AWDs IMO. Take care!
Did you encounter any vehicles going down while you went up? One portion of the trail looks like it’s only a single vehicle wide.
Greetings, yes i did but there are plenty of spot to pull over to let vehicles going the opposite direction pass.
And usually vehicles going uphill has the right of way. People can back up to pull over to the side. Plenty of little spots. Have fun!!
@@MPTrailGroup great. Thank you for the information and video.

is the Silverado 4X4?
@Fernando Mendoza yes it is.

What do you usually air down to?
Around 20psi.
@@MPTrailGroup nice. I have a new f150 with a psi of 37. What should I lower it to before going?
@@alix1493 try 30 and if its too rough you can always air down more🤙🏾. For trails like this I mainly do it for comfort reason.
What do you recommend buying to air down your tires? And do you just go back to the gas station to fill them up?

To what psi do you recommend airing out your tires?
I usually go down to 20 psi.
How long does the trail take
Usually a couple hours . Not a very long trail.
Do you think a truck with no off road tires can do the job at this place.?
Yea man, as long as there’s no recent rain you should be good to go.
What’s your Instagram? Me and some buddy wanna check out this trail this weekend
@Adrian Lopez hey man its MP_Trailgroup. You guys have fun. This trail is very nice
Trying this on a lifted AWD Element for shits and giggles
Nice man!! Have fun!! Your element will do just fine.
