The mesh to cad function is awesome if it were available with the startup license and if it can clean up 3d scanned meshes, been waiting for something like that for ages
That STL to brep function is amazing, it makes editing thingiverse models a breeze. Too bad it's restricted to a monthly subscription a casual maker like myself cannot justify. Good update nevertheless tho.
Yeah, it seems like the people who need it can't afford it, and the people who can afford it wouldn't use it anyway. What a waste of effort on their part, it looks like a great feature.
I have been with PTC for decades. Their dues and maintenance fees were much more than what I am paying per year with Fusion. And we have two seats. For what we are getting in CAD, CAM, CAE at this price is unprecedented. Glad everytime I see the updates, it justifies the annual expense.
@@bwilliams1815 you mean you are a person who is actually willing to pay skilled programmers who work hard to deliver a quality product that you need? You're an enemy of the revolution man! Haha. I agree with you (I hope the sarcasm wasn't too much!) I think this is a great product made even better by updates like this. It is affordable for even small businesses like me.
I use offline mode and I do everything used in online mode. When I get online, it updates the project folder and everyone in the group sees the new info. Do not know if dark mode is different from offline mode.
Dark mode and offline mode are totally different. Dark mode is regarding making the UI dark so that it reduces eye strain. This is not available in Fusion 360 yet.
One thing i'm waiting for is a button to stop Fusion from already starting to change and calculate stuff before finishing typing a dimension, just to simply wait until enter or tab or whatever is clicked, so often it crashes itself because it starts calculating at 1 from 1000 and goes into hysteria because the dimension is too small or whatever
One possible workaround to the auto calculate would be to use an open parentheses to force the parameter to be unsolvable until you delete it at the end. Not a perfect solution, but it could work in an instance where you know Fusion will mess something up beforehand.
@@JLProPhoto it starts calculating as soon as you create the dimension or feature, or change it, so if you want to change say a dimension from 250 to 190, typing 1 it starts calculating the dimension for 1mm and gets hysterical, when it relaxes i get to type 9, same procedure until you get to 190.. talking about mid to larger bodies or assemblies. Autodesk says there is 0.5 seconds delay until it starts calculating, ya...right.....
@@Tarex_ I am aware, I have to often type every dimension twice (type first number then it creates the line and highlights the text meaning the second number erases the first), however, if you type a parentheses, the dimension goes red and it can't be solved. So it might work to use an open parentheses as a blocker while you're typing and then delete it at the end.
When importing meshes and the move dials appear, you should have the rotation be numberic instead of this weird vauge spatial reference. I dont get why we can't just have snap 90degree or something that makes sense. My imported meshes are always at some weird slight angle, when there's no reason they should be.
If me writing the below on every fusion posts makes the team develop that faster I will write this : Please do something about the chuck reference in the Turn Mill 🌸🌸🌸
Hmmm... Highly suspicious that Fusion 360 gets new Mesh -> Solid tools while the latest version of Inventor's Mesh Enabler is for some reason not available (yet).
Hi i am beginner. I am trying to make emboss and engraving design. Emboss should be go inside of engraving design and must be give 1 mm movement. I couldnt finf how can i do that Can you help me please
@@sualpozel1 Windows actually support STL thumbnail previews, but this preview that we are seeing is not provided natively, you can see on the preview thumbnail some other icons on the right, that suggest that is some software installed on Windows that is associate to open STL files, an then gives you the preview on Windows Explorer.
Tried the STL to parametric conversion, got nothing but errors. Made new face groups and tried again and it just made a mess of it. Still feels very very beta.
Hi, The key to success with a prismatic mesh to solid conversion is having a good set of face groups. We Added several automated and manual ways to create face groups in parametric model and in direct editing mode. please try both. If you are still struggling feel free to post on the user forums and we would be happy to help you.
I do not use fusion in commerce. just for a hobby. and from tingivers I take models for 3D printing, but these functions are hidden to me .. and there is no point in paying 500 euros for such functions to be opened.

Nice update. When are ya'll releasing a proper dark mode for Fusion360?

NOOOO!!! No dark mode, We need many other things before dark mode! Such as Panelisation for PCB"s and a Bill of Material editor system.
Just one thing, Why not a standalone installer yet?

I've struggled with that behavior too. One reason I haven't paid for a subscription yet.

We need more functions to work on scann mesh files.
Thumbnails of the STL files in Explorer is neat

Hello,
On Windows Explorer how you get STL's icon preview?
Thanks
my thoughts exactly :)
I think the 3MF file type does that
That’s a native windows 10 functionality

Watch all of these features not be available in the free version cause autodesk is run on greed
There was already had a mesh to Brep function, granted it didn't make exactly simple Brep models but is this still available for casual users?
Yes we did not eliminate any of the old functionality
How do I get the mesh editing tool?
Why developers not added circular pattern withot rotating copies?????????
You should watch this ruclips.net/video/LISBox6Ms_0/видео.html
It describes circular patterns without rotation of instances.
Convert mesh not working on simple wheel. It just convert as toroid.
FWIW, I am continuing to experience data recovery failures when my PC restarts due to a Windows' update.

Same here hoping to get feedback on the 14th
