Hey!! Someone stole your beard!! 😁 That jib turned out great! The black accent on the top was a great touch! I’m sure it’s gratifying putting a homemade lure to the test! 👍
This is the first jig , I have seen you tie , you made a Beautiful Jig, Sir ! You are Blessed to Love crappie fishing as much as you do and be able to tie Beautiful Jigs also ! God Bless and Take Care and Be Safe !
I am all about keeping it as natural looking as possible, and that jig is the best looking jig recipe I have seen so far. I will be tying up several of these jigs. Thanks for the great video.
That's a great looking jig and nice how you stacked up the material.... I agree tying up jig's are a rewarding hobby and the little bit I tie for me it's a good stress release.. great tie and good luck out there!
Good to see you starting to get back into fishing mode. I can't wait to see the next crappie fishing video where you show the slabs you catch using your hand-tied jigs.
Great video, by tying your own jigs you add a lot more enjoyment to crappie fishing. You also can create some jigs the fish have not seen before. Thanks for sharing. PB
I’ve been tying for 55 years, and you’ve sir, have developed a natural talent in tying jigs. It would be interesting how you’d do tying flies? Great video, I’m subscribing!
I started tying flies first, years ago. I’ve tied some extraordinary flies, especially Mayflies, using others RUclips videos. Thank you very much and that’s a huge compliment coming from someone with your experience. 🙏. I may make a video on tying some flies.
@@awfoutdoors6299 You definitely have talent, and it would be wonderful to see some of your flies and jigs not videoed. There are too many people posting videos of their trek towards excellence, we need more videos from those who are masterful in the subject content. Your brother in Christ, Bill from Minnesota, USA.
My 11 year old has watched some of your videos and has a real interest in tying his own jigs. What are the essentials he will need to start out? Any info would be great!
I would start with the cheapest tools available, then if he likes it, buy better ones. Look at BassPro Shop, or a local fly tying shop. You can buy a kit very reasonable. That’s what I started with, a small fly tying kit. Then he can get into tying jigs later. Thanks for your support 🙏
You the man from one old man to another keep on Fishing 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣👍
Cool video!
Thanks
I am 78 and just started tying and enjoyed your video.
Thank you, I started tying crappie jigs last year but have been tying flies for bream a long time. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Any particular place you buy your materials from other than Amazon? I'm starting to get into making my jigs as well.
I found the closest fly tying shop, and also Basspro . Thanks for watching 🙏
@SK’s CRAPPIE catchin adventures, It won’t let me see your comment for some reason.
The problem I'm having is the thread keeps breaking while wrapping around the shaft.
Try a different type thread
Awesome video always enjoy watching your jig making. Question? Do you use that 1/8 oz under a float?
Yes, mostly all I use in any situation. Thanks for watching
Could you please share what jig mold that is? the mold I have is for using tube baits, and it gets tiresome cutting that little spur off.
I’ll look at the model when back in my shop. Thanks for watching
Thanks so much! Great video by the way, can’t wait to give them a try
It’s a Do-It mold, JNR 1062. It pours 4-1/8ths and 4-1/16ths. Round head no shank.
Thank you so much
