It’s hard to be excited about this as an Oregon State fan. If the Pac12 folds, which it likely will, the Beavs and Wazzu would likely be without a home in a big name conference.
The ACC will be next, and after the dust settles I think we will have two super conferences in the SEC and Big10, and a huge Big 12 with the left over teams. Either way, college football just changed forever.

A consolidation of the 3 remaining conferences could be the only way they survive

I agree with Ryan. Not really shocked. Is interesting to think about how UCLA became a part of this. And the other college sports other than football is also interesting. Here we come super conferences i.e. AFC/NFC lol.

Playoffs with 2 auto bids to winners of Big 10 and SEC? The rest as at large bids?

In October 2027, when Indiana visits UCLA, nobody in LA will care. The Coliseum would also likely be 1/2 full. Most of the BIG teams are dreadfully boring.

This is just so bad for the sport. Regionality is why college football was so loved. This is only a couple of steps away from the players figuring out that they should band together, hire attorneys, and figure out how to take the schools out of it, creating a lucrative minor league for the NFL instead of college football.

I’m a USC fan and a West Coast fan, so I like and hate this move… But, this could be a fruitful recruiting explosion for USC & UCLA into fielding AllStar teams if they destroy WEST COAST college football…

Now, you do a video about the future of the Rose Bowl. Will the PAC now 10 be able to hold on to their spot? I doubt it.

Big should try and add Stanford , Cal, Oregon and Washington. Let Arizona,Arizona State and Colorado go to Big 12. If Norte Dame wants in they can be fit into the old league somewhere. Norte Dame is crazy not to join.

I see 3 super conferences out of this. SEC, Big 10, and Big 12. ACC will get poached by SEC (FSU and Miami). Then the big 12 will absorb the best schools left from PAC12 ( Ari schools, CU, UU) and ACC (UVA, VT, UNC, Louisville)

Nah, there will be two peer ~24-team mega conferences and only they will matter. The remainders may consolidate into a single BIG12 "super" conference, but I see that as foolish given the drop in revenue and the resulting increase in travel expenses. More likely two separate and regional Tier 2 conferences. Plus, your referenced UVA, VATECH & UNC are almost certain to be included in the surviving megas.

obviously these moves are not fan friendly, but who cares about fans any way?

It won’t be long before the super conferences start kicking out the non revenue programs like Miss St, Minnesota, etc

      No way
      When you’re in you’re in
Well, I can’t speak for the SEC, but the big 10 isn’t tossing anyone

As a sports fan this is not a good day for me personally I just hate the way sports is nowadays nothing matters but making money they don't give a s*** about the kids I know now they can make money but still .Take the NBA free agency for instance why are we pocket watching athletes & entertainers I hate that about life I know I'm in the minority it just bothers me I guess there's an unwritten rule that goes back decades that since they're athletes & entertainers & they make so much money it's all right to know what they make I think that's b******* Go bucks, badgers, brewers,Marquette At least I get to cheer for a bunch of winning organizations
