Friendly reminder guys the original idea of PvE was scraped by greedy higher-ups at Blizz and not by ppl that work on OW2.
Wasn’t there an old team working on pve and then they replaced them or something like that? I feel like the old team that was working on the promised pve weren’t able to get much progress, so when the new team came they were like 👁👄👁 there’s no way we can finish this, so they just scrapped it unfortunately. I feel like that could’ve played a part in it too maybe? Still fuck the suits at blizz🥲

@@Rriadda Also ur right there was other OW2 team that worked on old PvE but it simply would take them MORE time to finish Talen trees etc.
@@Rriaddait's not that they didn't get much done, it's that they spent years creating new abilities and it would still take another 5 to polish things the way they wanted. The general audience can't grasp how much coding and testing was needed for the like dozen+ new skill augments per hero.

The only cool thing about the PvE and story missions is that you can shoot limbs and different parts of the robots bodies to cause different affects. So you can shoot the guns off the artillery omnics or the legs off breachers to make them not shoot or not move. You can see it, when that part of their body glows or highlights white. Otherwise this is essentially what we have for archives and the previous PvE missions we had before
I just feel that for this being the "biggest season launch for OW2" it's just feels just about the same as any other season before it. I think I'm gonna pass on playing much of this season if at all.

I'm pretty sure destructible parts has been a thing since uprising it was just one unit with a blaster arm. I'm glad they made more options but I don't think it's actually new overall, it's been 5 years though so I might just be imagining it

@MrFancyFresh well...when you were promised a thing you've be waiting on for years only for it to be canceled and then released a hollow shell of what you wanted AND has a price tag for you to pay for AGAIN. I think people have every right to be upset
Nailed it with that take on the PVE at the end. It's more brute forcing difficulty, instead of interesting and strategic combat. I think the 1 boss that exists across the 3 missions has 1 mechanic "make him ram into the power cell" which is wildly basic. There's so much potential, and they've done a LOT of really cool things with it, but in the end the repeat value is less because what makes you need to come back are completing it on all the heroes (annoying when they lock you out of all options other than Sojourn on Toronto when someone else picks a DPS) and somehow being able to withstand the onslaught with Lucio as your only healer in 2 of the 4 maps. The bots they programmed for when you don't have a full team are really impressive until they're not: they don't rez players, they don't take actions sometimes for unknown reasons, they stand in incoming damage zones, etc. It's fun, I'm glad it's here, but sad because it could be better. Also, wtf give us the Archives missions back already lol

@@miragemain105 Fair enough. It just falls really flat for me considering how long it was in development, and the absolute wealth of comparable games that are doing it better. Overwatch unfortunately suffers from being so great in some ways that when it doesn't deliver that same experience across the board it's disappointing. Not to mention the incredibly long time we went without and significant updates while they were working on OW2, which was supposed to be primarily about a new PVE experience. These are just Archives but longer with marginally better enemy units and prettier to look at.
Small note, the bots definitely rez. Had it happen to me on this map actually
@@MajorSilvaa I've had it go both ways since I first notice a bot refusing to perform a rez. idk if it's the difference between Event Mission and Story Mission.
I was thinking the same thing: the mobs have too much HP. The difficulty needs to be similar to the old events: fast to kill mobs but they deal lots of damage. Those felt more fun than just shooting a single bot for 2 minutes
It makes me feel a lot better that even top 500 players are having such a hard time with these missions on the harder difficulties. I have beat other pve modes on OW at the hardest difficulties, and I thought I had just got really bad at the game because these new missions seemed so hard lol

One thing I dont like is if you have a leaver mid game, no other player will replace it and you'll be left with a very useless bot. They literally ult as soon as ult charge is full
On the other hand, it is bizarre and hilarious to see the bots soloulting random shit around the map. Got a Winston ulting an empty-no enemies point, and buddy spent the whole primal deathstaring me 👁️👁️

Like the legs on breachers. You can kill em a lot quicker if you hit certain parts, they fall and die rather than having to go through all their HP and armor.

Anyone else sad that the OG archives missions aren’t playable? I hope they add them and the cut scenes that came along with retribution and storm rising too
The fact that they aren't makes me think they want to update them first if they're gonna bring them back. It would suck not having more units with destructible parts or cutscenes after playing the new ones lol
@@nailinthefashionI think maybe and no? They would definitely need to update them due to things like ramattra and the fact null sector changed unit designs and just general colors but I feel like they more so didn’t add it as it would just show how pve is just an archives wanna be.

Especially seeing as pve barely rly does good either like ramattra should have carried pve it’s basically all about what HE did but I’m pretty sure they ruined the entire foreshadowing by forcing the team to push ramattra early. Like all the foreshadowing in pve is ruined because everyone knows who ramattra is, it’s obvious even in the invasion trailer ramattra should have been released in it.
I think the original idea was to release ramattra with pve and his skins and etc in the same paywall but they couldn’t even wait.
@@darkkinkitty It makes me wonder what happened with the hero order. If they had swapped Illari and Ram it would have been perfect. Illari would have been out for the magic season, Ram perfectly ties into invasion, Weaver would have felt like a better option if you didn't like how aggressive Illari is.
They've mentioned multiple heroes are created simultaneously so I assume it was a choice and not just them having more done for Ram.
If the next tank isn't Max or related to the omnic story as much as Illari isn't then I'm gonna assume they don't care anymore and are just putting stuff out to make as much money as they can before moving onto a "better" project

Yeah, legendary Underworld is brutal. I think I only had one attempt that was very close to the Robot activating
Solo queue for expert was hard enough, I don't think I want to do legendary lol
I haven't played the missions at all, but it feels like the different enemies don't really force you to change up how you play much. The solution to every enemy is to just spam bullets and it doesn't feel like there's any tricks or techs to counter them or avoid damage. I think that's why it's annoying hard and not engaging hard- there's very little reward for improving beyond dying a bit less.

That's most likely because your difficulty is too low, so you don't really have to change up your strat a whole lot. Play on legendary, you'll respect enemies a lot more.

I really liked this free mission. It was really fun. I wonder what the changes are gonna be since there’s a weekly thing for it. Hopefully different heroes.

i didnt find the pve hard but i did find that certain parts of it went on way to long and it just became tedious and boring

After at least 50 attempts, I was able to complete legendary with randoms.
What I've learned after my like 30 failed attempts is just that breachers are better to deal with that the little laser dinosaurs.

@@AnimatorAiden. Blizzard wins not either side of the audience. They will milk this idea until it isn't profitable as much and then move onto a new project. Could keep the servers up without updates indefinitely until something significant happens like the playerbase falls off to tens of thousands or less. I don't see the momentum for an OW3 massive overhaul again, I give this 2-3 years until the newly established based becomes as angry if not even more than us OW1 people since they're spending 2x or more the money for almost the exact same experience we had lol.
It was fun seeing the genuine first reactions of the players :D I somehow watched the other pve recaps before this, so for those, the glamor & excitement of playing a new map has definitely worn away by the time they finally finish the mode lol

just a random tip if you're grabbing the heavy battery as tracer spam drop it to move way faster like youre playing CTF or something and never plant the the battery in the open, the amount of times i've seen people die while rezzing or planting when they couldve broken LOS so easily is crazy
I really hope in the future they add back pick ups from the original PvE vision, because that would have made it so much more interesting. I think part of the reason Rio felt so odd with just the lucio is because originally you had that like soldier 76 biotic healing station thing from the old Rio gameplay that you could pick up and place, meaning lucio wasn't the only one healing.
Also hope they learn on difficulty in the future, they went the Destiny2 route where enemies just get healthier and do more dmg, they should have just made the base units spawn less and spawn more Elite Troopers, and maybe special Slicers that only attack the player, or a grabber bot that latches onto a player and has to be melee'd off like the Talon assassin.
So much potential that I hope their hiatus they said that would be between this set of missions and the next they pick up on this kinda stuff.
Also I really wish they would just add an all heroes mode for underworld, like literally underworld's base gameplay was shown back in the old PvE dev stream, so they probably have the other mode types still there too, so I hope underworld type modes come out in between large PvE chapter releases

Nah, Destiny 2 has gameplay and build depth with intricate AI that does more than "walk at you with murderous intent"
You start from the underground station and work your way towards a payload that you have to defend waves of enemies off of while it repairs itself, then make your way to the omnium with the payload to fight Orisa as a final boss. Getting massive deja vu here.
Altho difference is you needed the payload in uprising to blow a way into the omnium, here the TS-1 actually has nothing to do with the mission itself and is only there to provide firepower. If it dies in the omnium even before you get to the hacking terminal, the mission doesnt end in failure. So all that effort to protect it while it repairs is essentially for nothing.
The bots have S O M U C H H E A L T H in high difficulties 😭💀

I've been THOUROUGHLY enjoying the PvE missions on legendary! You still have to play like its normal OW, taking cover and applying your character in a more effective way, not to mention that there are ways to attack each type of robot, the default troopers, you wanna aim for their heads, because then they can only fire randomly in all directions, for breachers, breaking their legs as a team to kill them instantly is fun as hell. Say what you will about the PvE and what it "could have been", I think what we got is actually quite fun.

God, Underworld is like a gutted version of the Story Missions, which is already a gutted version of what it used to be when it was first revealed
The development of this game has been really sad to follow. More power to those who are still enjoying it, but the state of this game has really been... I don't even know anymore
The story missions we got wouldve been the exact same though right? They only scrapped the hero missions and the skill trees for those missions which were just bots on mp maps.
@@zombibyte The difference is that we would've gotten the story missions all at once because people were gonna pay for the story mode anyway. now, they're basically asking people to pay for the scraps left and we only get THREE story missions for this season and lost all the skill trees and talents
it's basically just a bunch of glorified Archive missions. the point of the talents and skill trees were making each hero more unique and would make think which talent could potentially be better for each map or mission
there's multiple times i see some playthroughs (because I'm not paying Blizzard) and see how certain people struggle on particular parts in certain missions, and i thought "Some of these problems is because there's too many enemies for four people to handle... You know what could've fixed that? Certain talents from certain heroes, like Tracer's Pulse Bomb talent that created a domino effect of explosions to deal with a ton of enemies, or Rein's Shatter talent that changed it into an AoE a that stunned enemies around him instead of just in front of him"
I have a theory y'all are paying more for the scraps than we would have all at once too. If there's let's say 21 missions, and they're all sold at 15 dollars for 3, and seasonally/annually then that's more than say 50 dollars for a pve pack with all of them, no skins or coins to pad it.
@@Jaded_Jinx I still think skill trees and talents wouldn't make that much of a difference honestly. Would've made things easier, but mostly the same. I feel like people are overhyping the cut content to make it seem like we were gonna get this AAA-level story mode that would be on par with God of War or something lol. I'm not ignoring Blizzard problems, but if we would've got the OG vision it would not have been much.
I'm glad this PvE stuff is all out so the devs can redeem themsevles. Season 6 was a nudge in the right direction, but it's just a nudge.

For this mission on legendary you gotta either play as a team with your friends or get lucky and have good mates which actually understand that they are possible one shot
Question: do we know if the Save-A-Mari achievement for Resistance was fixed yet or being worked on?
I heard it only works on expert or legendary, but I don't know if that is intentional or not.

@@Kaleryna2 Apparently you also only have to pick up one of them depsite the description saying four, which is another reason why I'm unsure if it's intentional.

The only bug with the challenge is that the challenge only requires you to just pick up all 4 of them at least once and then take one of them to the end. That only gives you the challenge and nobody else though. The description for the challenge is just missing the difficulty requirements.
I also know it's possible to carry all 4 to the final room with only 2 people as long as one is them is Lucio. The 90 second time limit is way less strict than you'd think it is. That's what me and my buddy did to get the challenge.

I feel like that stage of Underworld could have been so much more fun and interesting if all the batteries spawned in from the beginning but were guarded by enemies. Would force you to strategize more and increase the value of replayability

Idk, when I played expert with randoms is was definitely doable, the 5-6 hours Ive spent trying to beat legendary with randoms have NEVER beaten 3rd phase of the robot power up, lucio, torb, and tracer are ALL two shot by any elite jumpjets so if a battery EVER gets stolen the run is basically BONED

Would've been fine with a handful of these missions every season + the hero skill trees and occasional big story campaign mission as the full pve experience. These missions are pretty fun and the skill trees would have pushed replayability very high especially if you could swap in other heroes.

I hate how people dont understand how difficulty is suppposed to work.
Me example: In cuphead when you use simple difficulty It skips some phases and reduces the amount of damage needed and reduces attack speed and attacks on the whole
On normale:well its normal
With Expert:Sometimes there is extra phases.More attacks intersecting each other.More stuff covering your screen.The boss has more health more damage and etc.
In overwatch pve you know what they did? Just increase hp literally just hp more hp and more hp so basically your playing the same thing with more HP

I swear, the last third of the TS charge phase is twice as hard as the rest of the entire mission
My first take on the overwatch 2 PvE was "I'm not paying $25 to get what was promised when they took away the original game I paid for", decided to try the free PvE, did it first go on legendary, thought to myself after the content spanned all of 10 minutes, "that's it?" then closed the game, never to open again
The only part of this that I dissagree with is that you beat legendary first try in 10 minutes
I went torn and only used the hammer. 100% recommend
So is it just the 3 missions or are more going to get unlocked as this story progresses
Meanwhile my casual ass just sidestepping their attacks as torb and dinkin em in the noggin. Also I don’t think they know that the white highlighted parts are breakable when they shoot an enemy.
Being hero locked in such a difficult mission is just annoying

I have beat it on legendary a couple times and it was kind of just annoying that they are all giga tanks instead of more enemies incoming. Same with the story missions but those at least felt a little more thought out but still seem to be lacking a little bit. Not too bad for $5 though imo.
it's not 5 dollars, it's 15 dollars. you can consider it as 5 dollars if u could buy it alone but you have to pay for 1k coins too, even if you don't want them to buy BP this season. It's not 5 dollars.

They're playing on the hardest difficulty which only gives them one attempt, the lower difficulties have checkpoints and like 4 attempts

Yeah, that level of difficulty doesn't seem to rely on skill, more just turning the enemies into bullet sponges. Doesn't look very fun or replayable. :/

I love how this missions can show you how boosted some people are. Got a gm support (it was gm in support, i ckecked it) which as a high plat, low diamond i was kinda glad to have......we got stuck in that beach part on rio and the dude kept getting knocked down..in the end he left and the rest of us managed to get past it and win the mission. Bots at legendary may have a somewhat strong aimbot but aside from that they are not that big on gamesense...how can you be getting your ass handed to you that much by bots if you are supposedly used to face much stronger opponents? Was funny anyways.
The problem with the pve there is the enemies are bullet sponges and your ultimates take to long to build up.
So you just sit there pumping damage into enemies and doing next to nothing. But the only real fix for that now. Is pve specific balances. That only effect pve. Or call me crazy. These things call skill trees.

Vultures have WAY TOO MUCH HP. They should be a difficult as a Heavy Jumpjet, not take as much time to focus down like the Artillery.
i hate the new game mode. First of all they lied abozut the storie missions, talent trees and stuff, than they want to give us the same stuff just worse so the community isnt angry and now the new game missions are not free to play. So in total they scammed us with Overwatch 2 because the storie missions they promised us are not the way they should be and also they are not free and worse with less content. Blizzard as a company is dead for me

I’m almost done with society and this game someone told me to kill myself because I was damage boosting a junkrat I told him to not tell someone to kill their self and some guy butts in and joins the other guys side and start molesting me with hate and harsh words. I hate how people dont understand how difficulty is suppposed to work.
Me example: In cuphead when you use simple difficulty It skips some phases and reduces the amount of damage needed and reduces attack speed and attacks on the whole
On normale:well its normal
With Expert:Sometimes there is extra phases.More attacks intersecting each other.More stuff covering your screen.The boss has more health more damage and etc.
In overwatch pve you know what they did? Just increase hp literally just hp more hp and more hp so basically your playing the same thing with more HP

Overwatch 2 PVE can be saved! I know how to fix it, add daily and weekly challenges to PVE that can reward you with 60 coins. So each week you can earn 120 coins for doing both weekly sets and almost 2 free battle pass levels for doing both daily sets each day. Also another good thing they should add is random missions that pop up on the global map screen daily or weekly. They can reward you with xp or classic credits.
No cap i will never play anything to do with the story of ow i just don't care about pve anymore lost interest after all the lying and waiting for ow2 its sad i feel this way i used to love this game unconditionally

Not to mention everyone has specific roles in the mode and I don't think they fully got that. Tracer needs to be going for the batteries when they pop up, lucio's biggest priority is booping the exploding robots (that's the only way the objective can get that low on that last attempt), winton crowd controls, and torb does torb things. I beat it on expert with randoms (haven't tried legendary yet) and I had a good time and the diffculty is appropiate, it's just all about knowing what your character provides to the team and doing your role the best you can.

@@justsomeone1073normal, hard, and expert are easy. Beat them on the first try with randoms as well. Legendary is actually difficult. Bots just have an absurd amount of health and dmg with only a lucio as healing.
@@nailinthefashion I haven't played torb yet in the mode so all I can really say is he does damage and places his turret which is torb things lol. I guess torb kind of works best helping lucio clear the dog robots and self destruction guys as he is better with single targets in comparsion to winton while also being able to crowd control with ult if necessary. I suppose the best way to put him is he fills the gaps the others dont. Edit: songNsong puts it well
