@bigfootgoesboom I watched probably 60 videos about it before I decided to go with it. I was definitely taking a risk with not a lot of videos out on this specific gun, but MAN, I am impressed. Light recoil, light gun, hard hitting, flat shooting fine piece of badassery. If you ever get the chance to shoot one prior to purchase, definitely take it. If you decide to go for it, I can confidently say that this caliber is sick! Definitely go with a more reputable maker for the gun/ barrel to get the best performance, but other than that, you should be solid!
I’ve been shooting my 12” 6.5 Grendel for 7 years now out to 800, 900, and even 1000yds. Not much difference between it and my 16”, 17.6”, or 18” Grendels from shooter perspective. There are 127 active factory ammo SKUs for 6.5 Grendel as well, with 3 new ones from AAC being the most recent drops. 100gr ELD-VT from Hornady behaves like 6mm ARC 103gr ELD-X and 108gr ELD-M. My real world data match the Hornady doppler radar data for 6mm ARC. With Grendel, you can shoot 80-160gr, with 123gr being the most common. 123gr hits the steel really hard and you can self-spot easily. Great for hunting too.
I got to shoot this at my 2 gun event last month. Noveske was out there with some set ups and the 12.5 is really something. Feels like shooting a very soft AR10… I wish I ran more than 2 mags. Thanks for the content sir.
How has your 18" been for you? I'm curious how the extra few inches does out to distance vs the 12.5. I love the short barrel stuff which is why I went with it but I know the stats are pretty solid on the longer barrel lengths.

My buddy and are planning on going to Utah to do the milk jug challenge. We have been practicing out to 1200 yard's using a steel IPSC target at his grandparents place and we are hitting it 6 out of 10 times. We have started reloading for the 6ARC and my barrel likes the Barnes TTSX 105's and my buddy's likes the 108's. With your Noveske lower send it back because I have had problems with some of Noveske's parts and I have been buying Noveske parts for 15 or more years. Noveske's QC here lately has gone down and I hate that. Great video keep'em coming.

@Wade-1 Without a doubt, I do think the military adopted it in some sort of fashion recently but don't quote me on that. Is the Max the one that's intended for bolt guns? I believe I've heard about that as well.
6max is 3100 FPS 55 grain out of a 10.5 barrel using same exact boltface as 5.56 guns at SAAMI pressures. Downside is the cartridge tops out at about 105 grain projectile. Upside is same capacity as 5.56 steel magazines, unlike 6ARC CHONKS
@xciteful Thank you! Haha yea I'm still getting used to the geissele triggers, I've let off a couple of unintentional 3rd bursts because I was too close to the reset and not bracing enough so I play it safe and exaggerate it a lot to compensate.
Great gun Sir but you should check out the 6mm MAX. Its the new hottens if you're a 6mm fan. The stats are pretty amazing and it uses the 350 legand as a parent case and there are a lot of advantages.

I don't get the curved mag thing... I've been shooting 6.5 Grendel for more than a decade and a half and I run standard C-Products mags that look just like AR Mags and I've never had a single feed issue.
@@DB.KOOPER I’m not sure to be honest! I know there are other options out there like straight mags and less curved. My only guess is so when you’re in the prone it doesn’t bump anything. But I could be way off.

that's all Noveske they are tight as fuck, pretty sure you have a Gen 3 or 4 and there should be a tension screw in the lower. Im building a similar set up as we speak with Centurion arms 12.5 and Noveske Bolt, how are you liking the bolt? Also I know they are pricy but highly recommend the Geissele 6 arc mags try to get them on sale cause they are extremely pricy
@jbcustom3745 So I could be wrong, but the tension screw on the bottom only puts tension on the fitment between the upper and lower when they're installed together. The pins I believe are sticky because the holes in the lower are just slightly off, or there's something that's every so slightly out of spec. That could be my mistake, but I am familiar with what you're talking about. The bolt and everything has worked great so far! I did try to run the centurion sandcutter bolt carrier in this thing, being it's an AR chassis. They're supposed to be compatible. But the fitment was pretty tight, and it made it kind of stiff to operate the charging handle and BCG. It could just be that it's a brand new gun, and the tolerances are super tight. I'm definitely going to try out the geissele mags soon.
@@JuiceyMedia1 im running a standard phosphate carrier with the JP enhanced bolt in my 18 inch 6 ARC. Its stiff like your talking about but still ran tho on H buffer. The 12.5 I'm working on now I went with a Geissele reliability enhanced carrier with the Noveske DLC 6ARC bolt. its way less stiff when cycling the action with the nano weapon carrier with the DLC bolt. its pretty slick.
Did you get the Centurion Arms barrel optimized for 100% suppressed use? I'm not sure if you have heard of it, but I hear it's available if you call. My friend who is a small time gun influencer who uses a lot of centurion arms parts in his builds told me about it but at the time I didn't want to wait a few more months and went with the Beer City Bullets 12.5 and it's awesome. It's better than the noveske barrel I had. The SBR was not available at the time and I'm sure the problems I had aren't with the factory SBR. I had slight feeding and extracting issues and it went away when I changed to the BCB barrel and was more accurate as well. To be fair I used Hornady Black ammo with the noveske barrel and I had heard to go with the 108gr match ammo (just like this video says as well) and it was a significant difference to me. The only similarities is the same filthy Hornady powder seems to get everywhere
@@jbcustom3745 I emailed them and there used to be a smaller gas port version, but it is no longer available. The one on the site is the one that's better for suppressed use as most 12.5 people run a suppressor most of the time and because we all know how dirty the round is

@0Asterite0 Is 10rds the typical grouping size for determining a firearms capability for grouping? I've only ever seen 3-5 which is why I was happy with 4rds given that I was using an EOTech and a Magnifier. I'll happily put it on paper again with a higher round count once I get a more ideal optic setup.

Given all the factors, out of the box, shooting all day, no cleaning, EOTech and Mag, 12.5 barrel. I do think that's a pretty damn impressive group. None of the other firearms I own currently could do that. I am definitely not a precision long range shooter though. So I don't have as much experience as you with groupings and their variances. But still, I am impressed with this little thing.

And this being an SBR I was treating it like I do all of my other SBRs shooting at 100yds and doing the smaller groups. As an upgrade 6mm max is more interesting for sure. As a new gun buy 6 arc is better as it has more ammo availability and longer range capability. 6 max would be a killer military round though, imagine making every m4 into a 1000 yard rifle just a barrel swap
Hey Ericka so check out the Sun and Shadow video detailing why 6max is a much better option.. 6ARC is trying to be a long range cartridge in a ‘micro’ package and anyone with a brain knows that’s only useful for PRS/competition purposes. If you’re actually into hunting or combat/SHTF then why not go with the way more reliable and equally as powerful 6max.. your welcome have a good day

Barrel length has nothing really to do with accuracy with reasonable barrel lengths 8"-24".. velocity yes but accuracy no.

At the lease the front pin is not installed correctly from the video… the slot in the pin should be facing towards the back of the receiver.

6 MAX is a better fit for the AR15 especially already having 30 round mags

6max makes no sense. Check out the Texas predator hunter breakdown of the 6max and why its not a good idea.
