I've been to New York a couple of times and did all the touristy things- excited that you will be there an extended time to get the feeling of living in New York. I like exploring the various boroughs, museums, attractions...longed to spend more time exploring things New Yorkers do. :)

I was born in NYC, raised in the Caribbean, and call Calgary home even though I live in the US right now (sooooo many weekends in Vancouver seeing bands when I was in uni). I am waaaaay older than you but love watching your videos.

Came here from your short bc I was so excited y'all are doing a trip for a month! This is *exactly* what my husband and I did in DC a few months ago, we had always wanted to live back East but didn't want to actually move. It was the best trip we've ever had (we've done it in SF too but used to live there so it wasn't novel). You guys will get to do everything at a normal pace and get to know NY like a local. So excited for you guys bc I know exactly what this experience is gonna feel like for you. You're gonna love it. Have the best adventure ever.

I did a summer program and went away for two months and my suggestions are to figure out the laundry situation, and pack enough underwear for each day, and emergencies, according to how often you can wash them. For clothes, its always good to pack what you need for the weather, and if you have room an outfit or two for incase its much colder or much warmer. Have a plan for clothes incase it rains. Then for other stuff obviously all hygiene and cosmetics, things to style your hair. Maybe ibuprofen and eye drops. If you need other stuff all of a sudden you can just buy while you're there. A pair of workout shoes, a pair of casual shoes, a pair of nice shoes, and then maybe a rain option. Gloves and other winter gear because new york is cold this time of year. Then for other stuff think about what you definitely need for work, and then anything you think you will realistically have time to use for entertainment! Last is your carry on with medications and some hygiene to get you through if you can't get your checked bag right away, and then anything you want to entertain yourself specifically on the plane!

This would be a great time to really dig deep into moving to NYC for a long time as a month will allow you to establish some contacts with some people who could really help you in such a transition. The New York Tri State Area would be a perfect match for the both of you and you would be very well received. I do not live their but I was born in Bergan County over in Jersey in a pretty upscale area near the GW. Huge Korean population over there. I would also recommend a visit to the Ali Fourney Center in Manhattan. Ryan should check out Chelsea Piers for sporting events. And of course don't forget to visit the 9/11 memorial. Have a safe trip and keep us posted.
