On August 22, 2023, Bishop Joseph Strickland published a letter to the faithful in the Diocese of Tyler, Texas. In this interview, he shares his reflections on the letter's content and offers guidance to the faithful.

Thank you, Bishop Strickland, for your true love for the flock. I feel for certain that many of us will be called to be martyred. But through the blood of the new martyrs the Church will be cleansed of evil because its human underlings are not going to stick around risking their lives protecting their temporal gains.

Unfortunately, many in the Church have denied this and push forward for a ‘worldly’ church and deny many of the fundamental Truths and Faith that have been handed down from Christ .

I like what this man has to say. He's got it right. As a life long Protestant, I have a hard time getting my head around a lot of Catholic tradition and magisterium. But as for the scriptural element, Bishop Strickland is right on the money. It seems to me that, unfortunately, there is a long history of Catholicism falling away from scripture, creating a monstrous hierarchy of ecclesiastical authority, and compiling a complicated world centered bureaucracy of theological practices. But, this Bishop is looking past all that and centering back on Jesus, and what Jesus said and did. And, that's exactly where every Christian should be looking. I'm tiered of hearing sermons on "love" and "forgiveness." It's turned into a feel good group hug of hedonistic excess. "Go and sin no more" should be the message. It's certainly the message that needs to be heard today. Everyone has already heard the love and forgiveness part. Now, it's time for everyone to anti up, and get some skin in the game. "Sin no more" is the take away here.

How was the SSPX ever in Schism then?
Most bishops seem to be under the Dictatorship of Relativism, seeking only "dialogue". But not a Dialogue with God (St. Catherine of Siena wrote about The Dialogue with God.) It's not Fatherless Socialism and Liberation Theology and Fatherless Social Justice that replaces Real Justice of God and man in Christian Society.... Thank God for the few bishops who experience a much deeper conversion to Jesus Christ and His Church, OUR CHURCH TOO!
If Bishop Strickland is asked to step down, that will show that the Catholic Church has turned away from God.
The deposit of faith doesn't change. How about our interpretation of the deposit of faith? Is that legitimate?
Bishop Strickland shouldn’t retire the Pope needs to retire!
Please stop saying this love stuff! Jesus hung on the cross for 3 hrs in unbelievable agony for us. We know and you know it too the church has been infiltrated to destroy it. We will not let Our Lord’s Church be destroyed. It cannot be destroyed because Jesus is the church. We will go through very deeply horrific times ahead. Wear your Sacramentals and stay close to Our Blessed Mother🙏🌹
