    Fantastic test Michael. I picked up the P4P today. Will fly it tomorrow. Thanks for taking your time and producing such a quality test.

    The difference in sharpness at 3:45 is amazing. So happy with my new P4P!

    Great review. The difference is staggering. I did not contemplate it would be so huge in low light - the much larger P4P sensor definitely showing-off the benefits of 1 2/3'' vs 1''.

      Thats a good call, I will definitely do that test in the future. I have the Mavic, but only one battery and I can not seem to order more until they are in stock. I can tell you from personal experience and from the specs. The Mavic will be closer to the P4P in sharpness, because of the tap to focus feature. But the over all detail and noise is going to be the same as the P4 due to them having the same sensor.

    Great camera test! Own both of these drones so excited to see someone layout the differences. But isn't flying drones in USA illegal after dark ?

    Hi Michel ! Please make a compare-video between mavic and Phantom 4
    Between functionality / ability
    How each of them cope with the problem
    Quality at night / cloudy weather
    It's very important to many of us who wanna by drone and can't choose !
    Like to move it top if you wanna see difference !

    Phanton 4 Pro has a bigger sensor = more light.

    Thanks for sharing, well made video, definetly pro better but expensive, well if you can give 1000 for drone you could give 1500 too.. i still think phantom 3 standard is good enough

    I'm so sad I have the P4P and when I shoot at low light I get never this quality you get in your shoots ... I don't know what are you doing to get nearly 0 noise, are you using software to reduce noise or something ? and please what is all your camera settings to get this colors and quality at low light ?

    • @MichaelShainblum
      @MichaelShainblum  7 лет назад +1

      Not sure what to tell you there. These are all completely unaltered out of camera footage. White balance "Daylight" Picture style and color style both set to neutral and none.

    I'm about to order one for myself, still deciding between p4p and mavic which I prefer when it comes to design, but from all the footage I watched so far mavic video quality is not good enough for me :(
    Which one will you recommend ? One more question did you record footage from p4p using new h 265 video codec ?

    • @MichaelShainblum
      @MichaelShainblum  7 лет назад

      The Mavic footage is quite similar to the P4, but will definitely be sharper at night. I am going to use the Mavic for mostly travel trips and any hiking that is further then a mile, where I need to backpack or if I need to bring my timelapse gear with me. I will probably use the P4P for all drive up spots, and quick hikes. Or on shoots where I only plan to capture aerial scenes. Indeed I used h265 for this video. Its tough to say which one I recommend more, its all dependent on how you want to use the device and what the situation is.

      Michael Shainblum I'm living in London there is so many things, places I would love to see or take pictures from above so mavic will save me from all this curious people around as we all know phantoms catch attention so much more but then when I watch videos from mavic on RUclips all this nasty trees, bushes without any details, especially in move, put me off :(
      Decisions, decisions... 🤔

    It would be cool if you did this test for 24fps 1/50. Why do you shoot at 1/30?

    • @MichaelShainblum
      @MichaelShainblum  6 лет назад

      There is not enough fast paced or close up motion for 1/30-1/50 to make a big difference in this footage. If I was shooting something closer or with a great deal of motion I would change the shutterspeed. But I am favoring letting more light into the camera here.

    • @DefaultName-yo8ct
      @DefaultName-yo8ct 6 лет назад

      Right, but you can kind of see the vehicles jitter. Its a good video, but I think many would benefit from this same video at 1/50
