Yep, they're absorbing the water. They're desert rain frogs. In the desert where there's little to no rain, they would dig under damp sand and absorb the moisture in that sand. But when it rains or during foggy and misty nights, they would finally pop out from underground to do a well deserve soaking (also hunt for food.).
@@micnik3573 unfortunately in the states, it is hard to find one. Plus most of the desert rain frogs sold are wild caught which depletes the already vulnerable population of this species in South Africa. But the other good news is that I saw some owners planning on starting a captive bred line of Rain Frogs (I reckon that the rain frogs in this channel and in Japan are captive bred since I saw babies amongst the bunch.). So we would just wait for a successful breeder that could provide a captive bred line.
@@marcelinauy9037 This is also why if you have pet frogs it is important to make sure your hands are clean before you handle them. Because they absorb moisture through their skin that includes anything that's left over on your hands that's less than good for them.
