I’m about to watch the movie RIGHT NOW!! This video has been on my “watch list” for months. I wanted to watch it right before the movie and here we are!
"The Irishman" (2019) - A well-made flick...Makes the Jack Nicholson version look like the work of fiction it actually is... I resided in the the Detroit Area as a teen, in and around the time that Hoffa disappeared, and some of the storyline actually coincides with a few of the local rumors that were going around at that time, especially the one where Hoffa might've been taken to a house in Detroit and done away with...
@@darylturcott - Being that local rumors can only go at face value, Hoffa's disappearance will forever remain a mystery... One thing is clear, though... Much of the Vegas spanning from the late 50s until about the early 80s got built via Teamster Pension Fund Loans... Hoffa pretty much established that trend, and then it was carried over by his successors... Funny part about the whole thing is that had Castro never taken over Cuba, Las Vegas today would probably still be the desert wasteland it originally was... The mob definitely would've preferred building upon its stakes in Cuba...
@Harry Lime - I said LOCAL RUMORS, not necessarily FACTS, nor TRUTH, troll! There are a few things that always make life more interesting: A new Stephen King book...a new Barbra Streisand album...and a new Scorsese Film coming out! They’re all getting a little long in the tooth, so it’s great to still see them producing new material!
Sylvester West - I need to watch more Woody Allen. I don’t think it’s either all dark or all sunshine. Real life is a mixture of both. I think I like films that seem “darker” because they seem to better reflect real life. I don’t look for dark films...I look for truth in art. I know art can’t always reflect absolute truth. But life also just isn’t wrapped nicely with a bow, doesn’t end with happily ever after, the downtrodden doesn’t get a happy ending, everything usually does not work out...and that’s ok. That’s real life. It’s complicated. I don’t mind complicated. I think sometimes we get fooled when we are young...we watch the happy films and are lead to think that life works out like that...all nice and neat, the hero is rewarded, the child is found, the abuser is stopped, the hurt are rescued, the hungry are fed. Mostly that’s just not true. We ought to learn to live with the reality. Real life is ok.

One of my favorite lines from Oliver Stone's film JFK, "Could the mob change the parade route?" One would have to ignore 90% of the recently released FBI-JFK files in order to believe Frank Sheeran's story. Watch here on RUclips; E. Howard Hunt's deathbed confession to his son and remember while watching it that on the Watergate tapes, Nixon told John Dean III, (paraphrasing), 'We have to give E. Howard Hunt $1M, otherwise he'll go public on the whole "Bay of Pigs" thing.' Dean later said that "Bay of Pigs" was Nixon's code word for Kennedy, who had screwed the CIA at the Bay of Pigs by denying them air reinforcement. Also, Kennedy said that he would break the CIA into a million pieces. As well, Kennedy was calling for an audit of Israeli nuclear arms, which they were forbidden to have, but did indeed have. One of the FBI agents quotes a JFK assassination co-conspirator as saying, "We got the money from Israel". Kennedy was very openly having an affair with the wife of the head of the CIA, Allen Dulles as well.
He was only part Irish. His mother was not Irish. He also did not say that Hoffa was cremated, nor did he take part in the disposal of the body. He said Hoffa was taken to a mob owned meat rendering plant immediately after he was killed.
great video... the WWII background is very important to understanding this man. Not uncommon with ex military types come back to the usa as criminals and cold hearted killers.
I knew Hoffa disappeared...the trailer told me Hoffa hired Sheeran to paint houses...I knew instantly that Sheeran is going is going to paint his house in the movie.
Do all you people complaining that Deniro is playing a character that was 6'4" realize that the character Joe Pesci played in Goodfellas (Tommy Devito) was 6'4" 250 in real life? It's dumb to think that duplicating the real person's height is the key part to making drama from it.
LOL these video was release 2017, the irishman trailer was just recently.. these is ahead of time like you know the future LOL.. i guess i was just informed about the upcoming movie
The book was written a while ago. Movie rumors came out about 2-3 years ago which spurred all the hype. Movie process of casting took longer than expected which would be the reason for so many older vids making a resurgence.
Dublin Ireland has some serious organised crime problems. . . most other cities in Ireland are more or less rural .. luckily guns are illegal in Ireland but there are still a lot of gangland assassinations. .they had the worst slums in Europe in the 19th century . . a lot of immigrants from Ireland contributed to gangland in America and I'm not just talking about the Kennedy's lol . . .Scorcese understands this and has always tried to incorporate it into his gangsters movies.
Christy Dolan shut up lad. Your obviously the typical hard bastard goin round these days. I live in the back arse of Clare and I know the story of amby power and John O’Loughlin. Two farming lads from my home area that emigrated towards the end of the famine. They always wrote home and having seen the letters they were definitely an easy going shower. After a while both men stopped sending home letters and stories emerged that they might have died. After two years of hearing no word from either of them, a letter arrived from Amby that himself and John had got involved with a group called the droppers (mafia of today). He was writing from prison and said that they had been caught while doing an attempted robbery. The whole area back home was shocked as both of the lads were known as good hard working and honest lads. It was a common thing back in the day for Irish enmigrants who were struggling to make a bit of bob. Your man is not wrong about Irish emigrating and getting involved in crime
Just like Goodfellas, one of the best movies of all time. You do realise it's ok to make movies about evil people? Doesn't mean you have to glorify them.
Every damn time I heard "I heard you paint houses," I keep imagining some poor Tradesman finding himself coerced into doing a mob hit just because he thought was applying for a job of actually painting a house...
The movie leaves out a lot about Sheeran's childhood and experience in WW2. Give what he went trough, I'm surprised he only killed few dozen people after returning to US.
from a long line of brutal people into the future with nothing changed. When no one ever faces justice for their crimes and the power bases never change.... where is the change?
My Grandfather told me he was happy to stay on and served in Germany into 1946. He said it was to good of an opportunity with women, booze and the black market scams he ran. He said he loved the war.
It wasn't really based on his life. It was based on 'his facts'. His version. Unlike Goodfellas, Casino, and a few other's, there are people to back up these facts... Frank's life is almost like The Icemans life. I think they got emped up when they told the stories. I'm sure a lot is true but I'm also very sure they tell stories. Everyone in that life wanted to be the toughest ones.
@seguiriya1 I disagree . . I'm Irish by the way . . .Neeson isn't a great actor in my view . . DeNiro has that sinister underlying aggression that Neeson could never portray . .I think this movie with the actors that they have could be another Goodfellas or Casino.
And because he was dying he is to be believed? All the lies he told before that....now hecgiys I'm ready to tell ya what really happened? Some people might still be alive if law enforcement and govt didn't turn their heads.
I think the book is very convincing and he's not just another low level guy spinning stories, but you probably haven't read the book and already have an opinion?
I'm surprised the late former police commissioner and Mayor Frank Rizzo was in that picture. Not a big fan of his but I thought he was smart enough not to take a picture with Teamsters with mob connections.
Let's get one thing straight about this movie. *Ultimately*, it is a movie about the hit on Jimmy Hoffa. It's not a movie about Frank Sheeran. The Sheeran character just happens to be the central figure to the plot.
Apparently from The Trailer-De Niro has some mighty lifts. They forgot to de-age those! You can de-age their hair and faces, but can't de-age their movements or voices...

great video... the WWII background is very important to understanding this man. Not uncommon with ex military types come back to the usa as criminals and cold hearted killers.
Bullshit. Most criminals are bad seeds from the get go.
War is cold heart mass killing by definition
well i just watch the movie it was excellent kudos to the cast & crew i will watch it again its that good 👍
Jimmy Hoffa, got his house painted ❗
I think it was the mob that killed JFK, maybe not this guy but the mob killed Kennedy.
I knew Hoffa disappeared...the trailer told me Hoffa hired Sheeran to paint houses...I knew instantly that Sheeran is going is going to paint his house in the movie.
Jimmy Hoffa got someones house painted by visiting the home.
It's interesting how many tales there are of what happened to Hoffa, and where he's buried.
a great video
Thanks
Do all you people complaining that Deniro is playing a character that was 6'4" realize that the character Joe Pesci played in Goodfellas (Tommy Devito) was 6'4" 250 in real life? It's dumb to think that duplicating the real person's height is the key part to making drama from it.
He might be a ancestor of Ed Sheeran
LOL these video was release 2017, the irishman trailer was just recently.. these is ahead of time like you know the future LOL.. i guess i was just informed about the upcoming movie
Don1ci1cio movies are usually shot a year to 2 years before being released.
The book was written a while ago. Movie rumors came out about 2-3 years ago which spurred all the hype. Movie process of casting took longer than expected which would be the reason for so many older vids making a resurgence.
I'm Irish used to like that movie "Paint your wagon" not anymore!!!
Why every american government who has tryed to fight an independent currency not under a central bank always gets killed.
IIAlbertII you need to read the Bible then you will know who runs the world
Barry aLLen lol the Jews ?
They found Jimmy Hoffa. In the yellow pages, under cement.
ha ha ha ha ha ha, soooo funny
Nah. He's "somewhere wet"
SurfK9 still really
That is hilarious. Thanks!

A lot of tough muthas came out of Darby Boro. Rough neighborhood even today.
Boardwalk Piper AC NJ Clifton Heights is rougher
Irish descent lads. .. it's in his blood.
You're a bit slow aren't you . .REAL Irish like you calling people wankers on youtube? Educate yourself before you take part in discussions.
Soooo this dude was a relentless sadist who profited from murder. Perfect subject for a blockbuster film.
Just like Goodfellas, one of the best movies of all time. You do realise it's ok to make movies about evil people? Doesn't mean you have to glorify them.
For the love of god stop complaining about the height. Like Hollywood doesn’t have effects to make the character seem taller.
And much younger, as you will see.
Patrick Gibbons Youre an Idiot and probably an anti semite
Well, they hired Pacino, so DeNiro look big ...
I want a friend with this accent, kicks ass
frank sheeran or danny greene - which one was the more dangerous irishman?
A good read is "How the Irish Became White" by Noel Ognatiev 🤓👍
2:43 is that David Letterman on the left!! Hahaha
Every damn time I heard "I heard you paint houses," I keep imagining some poor Tradesman finding himself coerced into doing a mob hit just because he thought was applying for a job of actually painting a house...
"I heard you paint houses' is a great read, but DeNiro should not be playing Frank. Michael Shannon at the very least. Frank was 6'4 and built.
He is tall in the movie
The movie leaves out a lot about Sheeran's childhood and experience in WW2. Give what he went trough, I'm surprised he only killed few dozen people after returning to US.
he was an absolute legend it sounds like , a badass gangster
Actually, he was a murdering POS.
I honestly think frank had the makings of a varsity athlete
@Imight Realperson lol great point
Big hands
What about danny green?
That's a different Irishman, and different movie
Danny was a badass to but not BADASS FRANK SHEERAN.
No brilliant men that killed.
red dawn Danny Green movie is call to kill the Irish man good movie i happen to have it
Now theres a tough paddy
*Moral of the story* - Never mess with an Irish man 🔫👊
@@M.Camera-g8c And the IRA too 😉
Brutal times
Brutal people
from a long line of brutal people into the future with nothing changed. When no one ever faces justice for their crimes and the power bases never change.... where is the change?
My Grandfather told me he was happy to stay on and served in Germany into 1946. He said it was to good of an opportunity with women, booze and the black market scams he ran. He said he loved the war.
Delco standup👊
It wasn't really based on his life. It was based on 'his facts'. His version. Unlike Goodfellas, Casino, and a few other's, there are people to back up these facts... Frank's life is almost like The Icemans life. I think they got emped up when they told the stories. I'm sure a lot is true but I'm also very sure they tell stories. Everyone in that life wanted to be the toughest ones.
The guy is 6'4". So,.. hire DeNiro
Did you see the pics of De Niro wearing those ugly high shoes?
@@geronimojr7534 can't unsee
@@MrLeoYaus That's why they have Pacino and Pesci acting alongside him.
Better Robert De Niro than Michael J. Fox
@seguiriya1 I disagree . . I'm Irish by the way . . .Neeson isn't a great actor in my view . . DeNiro has that sinister underlying aggression that Neeson could never portray . .I think this movie with the actors that they have could be another Goodfellas or Casino.
The real painter of houses
Pacino is too old to play Jimmy Hoffa in his mid 50's. Pacino turns 80 next year. And Deniro is too old to play Sheeran. Robert is in his late 70's
John James I was thinking the same thing. They should have made this movie 20 years ago. But if anyone can pull it off, it’s those guys and Scorcese
The cgi magic will make em look younger...either way i think they can pull of 1 more classic before checking out
And because he was dying he is to be believed? All the lies he told before that....now hecgiys I'm ready to tell ya what really happened? Some people might still be alive if law enforcement and govt didn't turn their heads.
I think the book is very convincing and he's not just another low level guy spinning stories, but you probably haven't read the book and already have an opinion?
You can't beat the Irishman Jimmy the gent. He was badass, the real deal.
Jimmy Burke was only half Irish that’s why he and Henry hill could never be “made”

Ed sheeran great gramp
Yeah, that's not true at all.
How tall is RDN?
5'10'
Whos Irish here .
I wonder if he did kill Jimmy
What I heard is that he was shot in the head and thrown in the sea it was not cremated
That BLK commercial has the niece from Bernie mac
A lot of people dont know this was ed sheerans grandfather
Stfu
I always love hearing about the war crimes if the virtuously protrayed allies.
Not DeZero
6 foot 4..and De Niro plays him????
Apparently from The Trailer-De Niro has some mighty lifts. They forgot to de-age those! You can de-age their hair and faces, but can't de-age their movements or voices...
Thanks for the video, salut... no go home and get your shoe shine box.
