  • I take a 2019 Ford Edge SEL on the road during a snow storm so that you can see how it performs. The Edge is a 2019, SEL AWD with the 2.0l turbo Ecoboost engine. It has Dunlop 18in all weather tires. I was impressed with its performance so have a look.
    The car has no terrain selector such for snow, sand, or mud. It relied totally on its intelligent AWD system and does well to adapt to the circumstances.

    We have the 2016 Ford edge what's a 2.0 EcoBoost turbo and we put on the Arturo ATS blade runner tires on it and have no problems anywhere

    My 2010 FWD Edge is a beast in snow. Only got stuck when it ditched

    Ford makes one of the best AWD systems out there, I have had it on my 2017 Escape and now my Edge SEL, I would recommend it to anyone. We just had a 16" snow fall here in MN and my Escape was pushing snow with the front bumper, I never slipped or slide on any road I drove on.

    Interested to see what it's like compared to my 10 year old outback that I traded in on my new Edge.

      I'm thinking of getting a 6cyl Edge in place of my Crosstrek that seems to be dying at 100k/mi...😒

      @@jonathanbormann5077 My outback was a 2011 and still running great but from everything I have learned, it was on borrowed time with the headgaskets, transmission and torque converter. Decided to let it go while values were high. I still miss it, I really liked that car.

      @@MrGomjabber I've got 93k on my '18 Crosstrek. It's been pretty good but it started randomly blowing white smoke on startup and my coolant level has slowly dropped...uh oh...I plan to to a pressure test soon on the coolant system, though there seemed to be what appeard as metal debris left behind under the radiator cap. I drive 100 mi round trip for work each day, up and down a mtn. Wondering if it's just too much for that little engine.

      @@jonathanbormann5077 I really like their cars and I would have loved to keep mine longer but not with roughly 10k of repairs waiting in the wings. Transmission is an unknown bu the early cvt's weren't great. I know the torque converter is starting to flake out and Mr. Subaru says it's a matter of when, not if, on the headgaskets. I would say trade yours off while values are high. Of course buying is high too and used is extra special dumb high so we went with a new Edge.

    Should traction control be enabled or disabled in snow with awd?

    • @MarcNeilson
      @MarcNeilson 9 месяцев назад

      I left mine on and it did just fine. I suppose in extreme situations, you may need to disable - it's a judgement call.

      The 2.0 isn’t pathetic, and is one of fords best ecoboost they’ve made. I have a 2015 fusion se with 133k miles on it, and a 2020 edge sel with 41k miles, both 2.0 and awd. I’ve had no issues at all with both.
