in the watercolor sets i would buy as a kid, there was a toothbrush in it standard i used this technique a lot when i was small. cause it was so simple :D
You're a genius! Never did I think something as simple as a tooth brush could create a beautiful texture to the stars of your painting! I'm inspired now 😚
This demonstrate that the variety of colors and types of brushes doesn't matter. Everything you need is your passion in art and your zeal. And then you know that this masterpiece came out of nowhere or maybe your hand kept moving on its own and a great masterpiece came out...I'm a believer in art and I know how it feels to be an artist. Everybody's like, " did you had professional training ?", and I'm like nope it just came out on canvas...Hope your story's the same (as I read in the comments...)
This video is actually the reason why I got into watercolor, looking back 5 years later I did not regret anything. I still remember how amazed I was with this video.
The toothbrush technique is awesome! Made a mistake of leaving it in my mom's bathroom. After using it for cherry blossom trees. On the bright side, pink brings out people's natural skin tones! hehehehe....
I remember about learning spray painting with toothbrush in grade 4. Since then I've used this technique. Good to see someone else is also practicing the same method. Btw, your painting was fab! 😍
I only started painting a few weeks ago, but I followed along with this and was blown away by my end result! Best piece yet, and it was just the boost I needed to keep practicing. Thank you so, so much for this; you've inspired me to keep going. ♡
This is a really tough thing to do, but you make this seem effortless! It is really incredible! Please make more videos like this. I support you. Fighting!💜💜💜
Wow. The painting is amazing and the music made me feel like I was really there just gazing at the stars early in the morning just hours before the rest of the world wakes up. Thank you for this wonderful video.
I really like how this is done in fairly quick time, making a fast watch, but a person can still follow along with the steps. I have never painted, but have been inspired to give it a try by videos like yours. I am learning lots. Thank you.
Hello Untamed Little Wolf, Thank you for posting this lovely video, it was a pleasure to watch, especially as I knew what colours you were using as soon as I saw them on the paper being an artist of many years myself. This effect can not be achieved in any other medium except watercolour. Your experience is obvious as is your talent. Testing the dryness of the paper with the back of your fingers is something that only comes with thought or instruction, but is a revelation to a new student. Wet into wet technique is so special and can produce great results, again your experience shows by the way you control the later brush strokes. As for your Chinese brush, I love painting with these and have some really old ones which I have had for many years. I would like to encourage anyone watching this video to "have a go" themselves, all you have to lose is a little paper and time, but what you have to gain is possibly a fine watercolour and a life-long love of painting. Keep posting keep painting!
You are AMAZING !! 😍😍😍 When u spattered the white paint with the tooth brush, was that still water color? Or acrylic? I try to paint stars myself but it comes out transparent even if i apply it on dried surface. I wish i could paint that clear white stars!!! Ahhhh😣help?
Another alternative is masking fluid splattered on the places you want to remain white, then removed to reveal the white of the paper as stars. Both methods work!
I use a utility knife and cut out my stars :-) works awesome! If you add white it is no longer water color but instead 'mixed media' still great, but not wc in the strictest traditional sense :-) Having said that, they make white water color paint, both 'Titanium White' and Chinese White, one more opaque than the other.
AntiFormKeyblade Careful here. You don't want the ammonia in masking fluid on your skin, eyes, or under your fingernails if you're splattering with a toothbrush. Gloves, goggles, and pets outside, at least. For stars, salt produces an interesting effect as it soaks up the water. There's no shame in the use of opaque whites in wc. If it's good enough for Joseph Zbukvic it's good enough for the rest of us!
Globus Hystericus No shame at all! Just not traditional, which totally personal choice. If you're worried about masking fluid you can apply it outside. Also, if you are wearing gloves for that surely consider the dangers of painting with Cadmium and other dangerous components of the paint itself. It is quite a challenge to 'leave' white. One has to think backwards, paint around objects, mask, cut, etc... If you see that as an obstacle USE WHITE for sure :-)
Can I just say that this is SERIOUSLY AWESOME. Like, Bob Ross awesome (I like his videos XD). I really wanna try to replicate this for my own project, but I honestly suck at painting XD Could I just ask you what that stuff you painted onto the canvas was at the start?
When you first splattered the few stars, my heart twinged with the absolute gloriousness of the brilliance of the stars which peaked the awesomeness you got with just the sky. But I feel that you went too far with the stars. The copious numbers of stars in the final detracted from the beauty of the colour harmonies that I think originally flourished and were augmented by the few stars in the beginning. But in the end, this is just my opinion that I wanted to share
I've always wanted to know how the hell people added those stars on watercolour paintings. I kept trying all the methods I could think of - but as soon as I saw you add on the small dots of stars I was like "Oh. My. God." IT'S THAT EASY!?
The most amazing effects are produced by painting wet-on-wet. Since learning to do that, I'm painting more and more with this process. The colors seems to have minds of their own, the waythey flow and mingle!
Lo there! You just got me out of trouble with your toothbrush technique! Have to paint stars and didn't know how. Wonderful idea that works amazing! Can't wait to start! Your painting is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing.
I am wanting to learn to start painting in watercolor, and when I saw you do the toothbrush trick, I was like ... Ohhh genius! Loved this. Beautiful painting.
I really like the sunset sky. Congratulations for the very good rendering of the Milky Way! I used the same trick of "spattering" for the white, but I like your colors a lot more!
This is beautiful and so creative plus looks so fun to do. To just paint and express. I love watching! As you can see by my icon I have been painting realism and truthfully I'm sick of it. LOL. Ready for a change. I love your creative freedom that's so beautiful and inspiring.
Сегодня взяла акварель впервые в руки за долгое время. И это вдохновляюще! Я учусь рисовать и космос, который вы мне подарили - бесценен. Спасибо) сделала "репродукцию" вашей работы ))))))
Your painting is beautiful. I'm inspired so much by your technique and I love the idea of the toothbrush effect to paint in the stars and planets. You have a lovely spirit!
I didn't know that the purple blob on the bottom was a landscape until you put the stars on. I was so confused and then it just hit me! XD Wow! It's beautiful!
When you got the toothbrush that blew my mind. It went from an awesome painting to a realistic looking painting in a manner of seconds. Amazing job! :D
It's been a long time since I did any watercolor, and this was a great intro video. Hard to mess up because the idea is so simple, but the end result is beautiful. :) I made a couple small landscapes modeled after your idea to send to my family. Thank you!
Gorgeous. Boy, you really make this look easy and fun...but I know it's NOT. I love the look of watercolor but it's just not in my genes to do it. TFS. It's beautiful.
I tried this.. turned out great as far as my beginner skill goes... thank you for sharing this! I am now planning on trying a bigger version of this which I could perhaps hang in my room...
Absolutely stunning. Wow, what a talented artist you are. I'd willingly buy your artwork. I'd be proud to have it in our home. Much love and light, from Laura in England. Xxx
That was a really cool painting I might do something like that I'm not really a painter, more of a sketch person, but I'll give this a shot because of how cool it turned out for you ^_^
Seriously? All with the same brush besides the tooth brush? Girl, you just blew me away. Gorgeous work of art. TFS.
What's the full form of TFS
@@supriyaraor3607 I think it's Thanks for Sharing.

You're a genius! Never did I think something as simple as a tooth brush could create a beautiful texture to the stars of your painting! I'm inspired now 😚
hahaha toothbrush
Using a toothbrush isn't her idea. They've been used by artists for decades.
A_Wise_Young_Man yeah I agree
I knew that trick of toothbrush. I was thinking to use it in my painting and upload on RUclips but this guy snatched my idea😤😭😭
I really can't understand how many people just skip such awesome painting videos.. I enjoyed every second of it :)

That turned out really beautiful!

😂😂
+Untamed Little Wolf what kind of paper is that? What did you do to the paper before painting?
African Americans and Asians can have pink undertones in their skin..
agree! the toothbrush technique is so helpful
tania baat you are so right!
I remember about learning spray painting with toothbrush in grade 4. Since then I've used this technique. Good to see someone else is also practicing the same method.

wowww i never think of that 5:50 (using a toothbrush to make a lot of stars) great videossss i love it
+Kemas Aziz It's great for making falling snow too.
+Lori Jones
Adding table salt to paint while it is still wet will produce wonderful pointy, crystalline flakes of diff sizes.
this is one of the best water colour demos I have seen
i dont understand how over 100 people disliked this video. its freakin amazing
Wow. The painting is amazing and the music made me feel like I was really there just gazing at the stars early in the morning just hours before the rest of the world wakes up. Thank you for this wonderful video.
ah! i have the exact same brush as you! XD it works really well..
I really like how this is done in fairly quick time, making a fast watch, but a person can still follow along with the steps. I have never painted, but have been inspired to give it a try by videos like yours. I am learning lots. Thank you.
this is... so... dreamy..
I agree with you
I see the gorgeous vaults of the heavens in your watercolor.....makes me happy and awed...thank you.
this is amazing! im totally painting this :D
If only I could see a sky like that in real life! Beautiful - and the music was well chosen, it suited the subject perfectly. 😊
What is on the tooth brush? White guache?
At 1:39 when the little bubble pops and makes a cute little cloud 😍 I love the way watercolors move on the paper they create their own paintings
what do you use for the stars with the toothbrush technique? i assume it isn't white watercolor pigment?
It's acrylic paint

You can also use white acrylic paint!! Since it's thick cx

Thanks for showing us how to paint beautiful night sky's on a very small scale. Brilliant.
I've always wanted to know how the hell people added those stars on watercolour paintings. I kept trying all the methods I could think of - but as soon as I saw you add on the small dots of stars I was like "Oh. My. God." IT'S THAT EASY!?
Hi!
