Diamond Whip Antenna SRH771 Review!

The Diamond Whip Antenna measures around 16", which will be used for railfanning. It has the power up to 900 Mhz which is a lot of power! Some of you probably wondering why did I buy an antenna if I already have the one that came with the radio? The majority of people have complained that the stock Antenna would wear out easily (which is actually true, because a friend of mine named Patrick had the same problem). If my whip antenna ever goes out on me, I will use the stock one.

The scanner I have is a Uniden BC125AT. The antenna that came with it doesn't pick up good bands and would sound like a TV static. So I decided to get a Diamond RH77CA antenna since many railfanners use that since it uses the band really well.

Update: As of late my Uniden BC75XLT has been decommissioned. I am unable to pick up rail frequencies the only thing I am able to pick up is is the airport channels. Yes I am aware of the mistakes in this video please bare with me here.

I have the same radio with rechargeable batteries and I bought a mag base Antenna for mine and use a Baofeng UV5R as well.

That’s not a genuine Diamond SRH771. Firstly it’s different and secondly it didn’t come with a rubber washer in the packaging. Look at the SRH771on the diamond antenna website.

I know I realized that it was counterfeit when I purchased it on eBay, but as of 2019, my Uniden BC75XLT is no longer able to pick frequencies and is now decommissioned.

No worries bud just thought I’d let ya know just in case u didn’t know about it because I’ve been done before ending up with counterfeit handy antenna’s of fleabay and they have been complete crap so now I stick with official dealers of Diamond Antenna for things like this. I’ve just brought a Diamond SRH771, genuine one from an official dealer and it works superb as well as the build quality is just top notch. I found your video as I was looking for other reviews and what others thought of it. Anyway all the best and enjoy the radio.
