Of course not, but I was expecting to learn basic ideas and principles from a "basics" DVD. I did not.
I'm about halfway through the "Making a Mechanical Hand" video, though, and it's fantastic. It gives a very thorough overview of the ideas, principles, and techniques of building a cable operated hand, while still keeping it accessible for beginners.
That's my complaint; I didn't get any practical knowledge about animatronics. I wanted "Animatronics 101" but I got the table of contents.
I bought the DVD and was sorely disappointed. It is a "basics" DVD in the sense that it tells you what the basics are, but never goes into any kind of detail on how/why they work, the theories behind them, or when to use them. It was like someone reading a "table of contents" with visual aids.
The price is also high, considering the length relative to other videos (it's 1/3 the length of some).
I plan to check out some other videos, but I'll be streaming them so I dont get another $70 burn.
Let's make T-Rex XD
