I'm about to meet with my doctor and discuss treatment options for PMDD. One of the things she told me was that you could potentially take SSRIs for 2 weeks out of the month to help during that time, and that there's evidence that it's effective. I'm excited to have that talk with her - it's really unbearable to feel like a rage monster who's crying and irritated by everything.
I walked a very similar path with my menstruation, pregnancies, and births. Hospitalized for post-partum depression. Even today almost 30 years later and I can't take the usual medications so whatever psycho dynamics went down I have to deal with them.
Thank u so much for sharing your story ❤😢 I am sorry that you went through all of these challenges and I am glad u found what is working for you! I think I understand myself and my body better thanks to videos like yours so thank u so much❤
Hi, I'm on the Autism spectrum, and for a long time, I thought I might have PMDD too. I have been taking birth control pills for the last 10 years, to help with my hormonal moodiness. I can't say that my hormonal moodiness has completely disappeared, but it is not as bad as it was before. Before, I would want to cry or flip out on people, and I couldn't control it. I know that is totally not like me, AT ALL!
Thank you so much for sharing this ❣️ As someone who has Autism, ADHD also as well as PMDD (yet to get a formal diagnosis), can any of you lovely ladies suggest any supplements or treatment here? Thanks in advance! Keep speaking out 🗣️ we are all warriors for what we go through each month. 💪🏼
Thats a common autistic reaction to SSRIs? Whoa, I have ADHD and pmdd (and asume i also am autistic) and fall asleep when taking SSRIs. So funny, but i cant take them. Thank you so much for your informations and for talking about it.
My doctor has said that sometimes sleepiness is a reaction to an SSRI dose that is too high. Anecdotally, I've had a lot of autistic and/or ADHD coaching clients report sleepiness as a side effect of their SSRIs, though they often had success finding something that worked after a couple of tries. I haven't found any research on it, though! I'm glad the episode helped :)
@@neurodiverging after years of taking an Mao inhibitor for my anxiety and such my doctor said something about it being activating, as for me it clearly was soothing and more dampening. That was quite funny
Isn't this also caused by EDS? It is a common chronical illness among neurodivergent people. EDS patients also have problems with medication and blooding, pain, anxiety and depression
YES I have EDS, Autism, PMD, ADHD inattentive type, and I have very bad period and after having my child my PMD rage is scary and I’m having to further depose educate myself on how my partner and I can work with it without making me feeling crazy. I couldn’t function either nauseous and also my mother and AUNTY heavy bleed mood swings long periods. Chronic pain everywhere my back and my joints. I can’t believe I am still walkig. It because of my son❤️
