Nice will try and share results
Was waiting so eagerly for this becuase my red velvet cake always ends up being gummy😭
Hi MK! Thank you for sharing this and other great recipes!!!!
I was wondering if this cake can be used for layering? I have my kiddo's birthday party this weekend and I was thinking about using a white velvet recipe for his birthday cake.
Greetings from Argentina!!!
Hi Cecilia! Yes this can totally be used for layering :) the recipe does require the cocoa though so not sure how that will work with a white velvet cake but maybe you can add in an extra tablespoon of flour in replacement of the cocoa. Not sure how this will affect the flavour though but would love to hear how you go if you try other substitutes! All the best and much love from New Zealand to Argentina! :D
Looks good MassahAllah
Assalamoalaikum Maryam, hope you are doing well. May Allah ta'ala give you shifa e Kamila and abundance of khair 😘.
In sha Allah soon I will try this recipe 💖.
Warm greetings from Canada 🍁
Wassalaam! Jazakallahu khair for your lovely duas :D I wish the same for you! Much love from NZ to Canada :)
Love your channel and your videos! I’ve made your chocolate and vanilla cake and they have come out fantastically! If I use this as a layer cake. Do you think I should double the recipe?
So glad to hear that Abby! :D And yes for a layer cake I would double the recipe :)
Found this channel like 1hr ago n I'm already subed ...

MK you are the BEST! I simply love your work! Question: Can I omit the corn starch if I use cake flour?
Aww thanks so much!! :D And if you use cake flour then just substitute (not omit) the total amount of flour and cornstarch in this recipe with the cake flour :)
@@CakesbyMK Thank you so much! I can’t wait to try it!
@@Luvnthegodnme hope you enjoy it! :D
Hi MK I asked you if I wanted to do a 6 inch cake x3 layers you said : X it by 1.5 more and when I did, it came up with 18g of baking powder? I just wondered if that’s correct or should the baking powder of what you put still remains the same and x 1.5 of the other ingredients? I would appreciate a response. Thanks 😊
Hi there! Yes that's correct the baking powder will be 18g :)
is it ok to use 2pcs 4"cake pan?
Lovely !! Will this recipe yield a batch of 12 cupcakes too ? And how long should I bake it for & at what temperature would be best ? Thanks much
Yes.
Hi there! Yes you should be able to make these into cupcakes but the baking time would be shorter and I would bake it at anywhere between 150-165C no higher otherwise the cupcakes will rise too high. Hope that helps :)
Really enjoyed this 🙌🏾. I would like to ask how to I transfer the measurements for a 6 inch cake?
Better to use an 8 inch pan...cake butter won't turn out good 6inch pan
Hi there! As the other user has kindly mentioned, it'll be best to use the whole recipe but if all you have is a 6 inch cake tin then you would divide the recipe in half :) hope that helps!
Assalamwalikum!
I ran out of cornstarch and can’t leave the house rn, can I still make this cake? Will it turn out the same if I don’t add it?
Please let me know!
Hi MK, Great tutorial I loved it but...I love all your baking and try almost every thing you do..your recipe for this Red Velvet Cake says, half cup of buttermilk, but you failed to put that into the mix...was it simply forgotten or can it be made without it..Thank you..keep the tutorials coming..
Hi there! :) If you scroll to the 2min 13sec mark thats when I add in the buttermilk. Its added in after folding in half of the dry ingredients. Hope that helps!
Awesome recipe. Can I use it for a tiered wedding cake or will it collapse??
Hi Celiwe! Yes you can use it for layering :) for larger cakes I would recommend not cutting the crust/edges off and these provide a good sturdy edge for the cake :)
hello mam,
Please, I want to know
When I pick up the icing bag in my hand to decorate the cake and after a few minutes the cream start to melting for my warm pump. so what is the solution of this.
Please..........
Hi Mk
I’d like to bake this cake, but unfortunately cannot find All Purpose flour anywhere.
Is it possible to use Self Raising?
Also is it possible to double the ingredients to make a larger cake?
Not sure where you are based but in the UK All Purpose is Plain Flour
Hi there! As the other user has kindly mentioned, all purpose flour is regular plain flour and yes you can totally double the recipe :)
Can i use red velvet emulsion for this recipe? And if so how much would be needed? I would truly appreciate your feedback. TIA
Hi there! Not quite sure what you mean by red velvet emulsion?? :)
I am trying out your red velvet recipe today for a 3 tiered cake that I have to make. It will be the top tier which is 4 inches in diameter. How long would you recommend baking this recipe in 4 inch cake pans??
Heya! Hope it worked out well for you :D it really depends on the height of the 4inch pans, but probably about 3/4 of the original cooking time :)
I would like to know on what temperature to bake and for how long if i dont have a fan oven please
Hi there! If you don't have a fan oven then bake around 170c :)
SLM..I'm very new to Ur website and simply love wot u do ..how do I get the correct measurements of Ur cakes
Wassalaam! So happy to hear you're enjoying the content :D and you can find the ingredients list in the description box of my videos :)
Dear mk what can i use instead of egg as i am allergic to them. Give me some alternative.
Thank you for sharing, can I keep on refrigerator and filling on the next day? It will not dry?
Hi there! :) Generally it's best to keep bare cakes outside of the fridge to prevent them from drying out. Simply double wrap the cake layer in cling film and leave on the benchtop in a cool/dry place or in an airtight container then frost it the next day :)
Thanks
Anything instead of butter milk pls?
Hi, MK! Can I make cupcakes out of this recipe?
Heya! I haven't tried myself but it should work fine :D
Assalamualaikum MK, what if i'm using cake flour, how the measurements? Do cornflour still need it?
Wassalaam! If using cake flour then replace both the flour and cornflour with the same amount of cake flour :)
Thank you for sharing. How do I know your measurements?
You're most welcome! Full ingredients list is in the description box :). Enjoy!
What can i use instead of buttermilk?
Hi there! Buttermilk is essential for this recipe but you can substitute it with yoghurt too :) you can also make your own buttermilk just add a tablespoon of lemon juice to a cup of milk :)
Can this be used for recipe to do a layered cake as well?
Totally! :)
It scares me that the cake has baking powder instead of bicarbonate of Soda 😂 everyone is always going on about the vinegar needing to have a reaction with the bicarb.. look forward to trying it out because it looks like a lovely texture! ♥️
Wow I had no idea that was a thing for red velvet! 😂 Haha thanks for sharing your knowledge! :D But yes the texture of this cake is so lovely and it tastes awesome! Hope you enjoy it :D
@@CakesbyMK Just what i've heard or read.. cannot confirm how crucial it is yet :D lol All other recipes i've tried have always been really dense and oily though.. So your recipe is next on my list to try asap as it look really delicious! Thank you for sharing your skills with us ♥️
Why do you put white vinegar In the cake and can you taste It when you eat the cake? Valerie.
How about if you are using cake flour what is the measurements as well for the baking powder or soda?
Hi there! If using cake flour that doesn't have any leavening agents in it, simply add in 1 and 2/3rd cup of the cake flour in replacement of the flour and cornflour (so don't add any cornflour). All other ingredients will be the same :)
@@CakesbyMK thank you so mucj
Hello, I want to ask 1.5 cups of flour is it one and half cups or
Yes. 1.5 = 1 1/2
Perfect.....where can I see the measurements for the ingredients? Please really want to try this out.thanks
👍
Description
Can this recipe be used for cupcakes? If yes.. how long would bake it for n what temperature?
Hi Navneeta! I haven't tried these as cupcakes myself but they should be fine. The same baking temp but perhaps checking it after about 20 mins and then going from there :)
@@CakesbyMK thank you 😊
do you also make cheese cake butter cream? can you share a video on it please. thankyou
Hi there! Cheesecake buttercream sounds amazing! I haven't got a recipe for that but I do have a video on cream cheese buttercream up on my channel if you wanted to check it out :)

What type of butter need to make the cake?? @🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
What can I use instead of Canola oil?
Hi there! Any unflavoured vegetable oil like sunflower oil will be fine :)
@@CakesbyMK Okay thank you for your response :)
Can I divide the batter into two 8 inch pans and decrease the baking time?
Cake will be so flat u won't like it
Hi there! If you want to distribute it between two 8 inch cake tins then I would double the recipe :)
Hi I tried the recipes perfectly but while baking it sinks in the middle? Do you know what’s the reason?? Thanks
Hi there! Sinking most commonly occurs if you check the cake too early and too much air rushes into the oven causing it to sink :)
Hi mem I love your recipes but I don't win with this redvelvet, I am using cake flour could that be the problem
Can I use powder food colour instead of liquid ?
Good question! I haven't tried this myself but it should be fine :D
I'd like to try this😊 but I want to know how much the cake would be?😅
This will make 1 8 inch cake layer :)
Hello I would like to ask you about the white vinegar . Is it an important ingredient ? I can not buy it in my country . Is that possible to make it at home ? Thank you for your reply.
Hi there! You can use lemon juice in replacement of the vinegar :)
@@CakesbyMK Thank you so much😊
Pls what redvelvet colour in brands did you use
Hi there! I used the 'Queen' brand red liquid colour :)
What will be shelf life of Redvalvet cake at room temperature... I wanted to make this flavor for my wedding... But not sure... Weather this flavor will taste good when kept out for longggg tym
Hi there! It will stay moist for at least a few days if it's covered with buttercream/ganache - they act as a barrier that prevent air from getting to the cake. So you can make your cake ahead of time :)
Hey MK. i just live your recipes. I have a query about bicarbonate soda. Almost in every red velvet cake recipes baking soda is used as rising element. But you skipped it. Can you please explain the difference?
Hi Farzana! So glad to hear you're enjoying the content :D and when trialing out this recipe I felt that the quantity of baking powder would suffice and it worked out well so I decided not to add the baking soda as it would make the cake simpler with 1 less ingredient required :)
@@CakesbyMK, thanks dear.❤️
Plz can u tell me about homemade fondant veg fondant plz
Will keep this in mind for future videos :)
Do you have a mocha/cappuccino cake recipe?
Hi there! Not yet but hope to do one soon :)
Hi, what if i want to make a 6 inch 3 layer cake version for this can I have the quantities for this?
The moment I got the notification I'm checking that video out! That crumb 😱😱😱!!!
I have my kiddo's birthday this weekend and I was wondering if this cake can be used for layering?
Thank you for sharing this and other great recipes! Greetings from Argentina!! 😊☺️☺️😄
Hi Michael! For a 6 inch 3 layer cake simply make 1.5x the recipe and this will be enough :)
Hi Cecilia! Yes you can use it for layering :) hope you enjoy the recipe!
@@CakesbyMK so if I x it by 1.5 more that’s 18g baking powder? Is that right ? I don’t think so
Can I use magarine instead of butter ma
Hi there! Hmmm you may be able too but I think the taste and possibly texture might be slightly different :)
Are you able to use margarine for this recipe ?
Heya! I would recommend using butter but margarine may work too :)
Can u pls tell if it's okk to use beetroot juice? I always thought red color comes from beetroot!!!
Hi there! I've never tried it in this recipe so I'm not too sure if it would affect the taste sorry! But you're totally right many people use beetroot juice for the red colour :D
wow... would love to see its eggless version
Hi Shweta! Will keep an eggless version in mind for future videos :D
@@CakesbyMK yes please... thanks
Buenas tardes.... Se puede sustituir el suero de leche por yogurt o qué otro sustituto, gracias ÉXITOS
Hi there! You can use yoghurt as a substitute or even better make your own buttermilk at home (add 1 tablespoons of lemon juice to one cup of milk) hope that helps :D
hello sister it’s so beautiful .which number nozzle did you used please
Thanks so much sis! I used a 1A tip :)
@@CakesbyMK thank you verymuch ☺️🤲

It helps with the softness of the cake :)
