What I want from the Switch succesor:
1) No joycon drift
2) Backwards compability
3) Cool menus with music
4) A better online service
5) Hopefully a name that's sound cool then just something generic like Switch U and New Switch

For the whole system, faster loading times would be key.
Stable HD 60fps for all games, at least in docked mode.
The menus should stay quick and convenient, but custom backgrounds would be neat.
And most importantly, a worthy set of exclusives (unlike what we saw for PS5).

One of the many reasons the marketing of the Wii U was so bad was that they tried to copy the marketing of the original Wii which is why it was so confusing. This form of marketing was just plain confusing. on the other hand the switch was straight to the point so everyone knew what the switch was. Nintendo will probably also go straight to the point for the Switch 2 and that marketing will probably still work because it is good form of marketing
The commercials also focus on the controller instead of the Wii U itself, which made people belived it just an add-on for the Wii
@@mariajimenafigueroa233That is what i thought for 2 years after the WiiU released: "Why would i need a fat controller with a screen when i have my TV? Sounds like for people with kids." I still didn't get it after learning the truth as it had no games that i wanted to play, so i never bothered, and by the time games i wanted to play dropped (Smash, MK8, Pikmin 3, Mario 3D World) there weren't enough to justify the purchase (good thing all those good games got ported to Switch, now there is no FOMO and the WiiU can die, forgotten). Figured it was best to just wait for the next generation.
I still remember the people who said the switch was a failure and dumping on nintendo because it wasn't Sony and / or Microsoft when it wasn't even out, yet I wonder what they're doing now?

I waited til AFTER it was out to determine what a failure it is, but that took 4 years to really see that all it had were bad ports and rereleases. Further problem is that after 7 years, they're still making bad ports and rereleasing games but are all the most successful for it.
With the way that Microsoft and Sony are running their respective companies, Nintendo is already winning with consumers.

The fact that Nintendo Accounts are going to be available on the Switch 2 was confirmed by Nintendo a couple years ago.
I know everyone talks about having “better hardware” and I understand that we need better hardware and that would be great.
But there are other things that I would like the Switch's successor to improve, like having a more charismatic interface like the Wii/Wii u/3DS had, maybe even having themes back, but what I really want most is for Nintendo to improve on online general aspect, this is something that I really think they should learn from the competition, it is very frustrating that the current Switch does not have basic functions like chat, voice chat ( or party system ), achievements system, good online connection in games like Splatoon 3 and other things that competing consoles have had since 2005, at least they are following the right path in maintaining the Nintendo Account, but still... it would be incredible if they did something more interactive and complete like it is on PS and Xbox right now.
The online connection and maybe online lobbies for games need improvement but it doesnt need to be like ps5/xbox by any means. All the socil stuff is too much
No they really need to follow the competition on this aspect. The lobbies,achievements,store,and chat are a must. It’s one of the biggest flaws of the main switch. They really have no excuse now in 2024. Especially if they want big third party games like call of duty to take off on their system. Nintendo does a lot right but their refusal to keep up on some things is a huge weakness.
If they are adding VC, I would rather them not add it to splatoon. Many people play splatoon because there are no native VC

Nintendo offering a legit online service won’t hinder them in any way. It would only help them. If you dont care for these features that’s fine. You won’t have to use them. Plenty of people do care though and would like to see them implemented. There is no downside to improving a Lackluster feature on the old console.

We knew this when the switch first was introduced. Nintendo even put up a graphic about Nintendo online accounts and games and data and account information would carryover from the switch to the next model.

Would need additional slots on the screen for the joy-cons to slide onto or a seperate accessory (like the thing that combines 2 joy-cons into one controller) just for that specific purpose but still that'd be cool.
@@Wyatt_Brown no, no, the joycons stay in the same place, under the screen there would be a long plastic thing so we can simply rotate the screen and make it vertical but the thing that holds the joycons stays in place

Almost that exact same thing happened to me i was sharing a 3DS with my step son and he broke it but by that time the price had dropped for a new one and i had a pretty good paying job so i bought 2 new 3ds systems so we both could have one and so i had to call Nintendo to get access to the accounts and unfortunately they unlocked my account but not my step sons because his account wasn't the primary account lucky we didn't allow him to have digital games at that time but he did have a couple of themes and all his saved data well it was so frustrating but finally he agreed to just cut his losses and create a new account I am so glad that won't be an issue anymore
There’s not really much they can *improve* on the switch. Anything they do for the Switch 2 should be focused on what new things they can add like themes and menu music. Bring back the Nintendo charm and leave the sterile look of the switch behind (I get they did that bc they were scared cuz the Wii U flopped but it’s ok now)
I really hope we can get reliable motion controls and games designed around precisely moving the controller and pointing at things with a cursor.

I pre-ordered paper Mario the thousand year door, but I don’t have a switch. Should I wait for the switch 2 to play this game or invest in a switch now.
You could get a Switch Lite if you don’t feel like waiting. Plus, it’ll take 2-3 years for the Switch 2 to have a big enough library of exclusive games.

I would also like to see older home console games be ported to the Switch with motion controls.
I hope its powerful enough to get decent ports of other games, i dont get a lot of time to play games at home so switch ports of borderlands 3, witcher and other big titles has been a life saver, would love to see more demanding games and games releasing in the future

It’s by far the best menu since the GameCube. The Wii had some extensive load times, and the menu was the worst part about the Wii U.

I could see Nintendo finally diving more into VR experiences for the switch 2. I was honestly surprised that the switch 1 didn’t get more support, given its gyroscope/directional controls, and it’s perfect size (which could be even bigger like an oculus) to fit inside a mount. Honestly I've been waiting since the Wii for Nintendo to make what's basically the ultimate Nintendo console. With Wii when they had the virtual console and Gamecube backwards compatibility it felt pretty damn close.
Though I would prefer to just be able to buy the games like the Virtual Console on Wii, Wii U, and 3DS I've accepted the Switch Online way.
All I'm hoping for is GameCube and Wii to be added to Switch Online and them to not make the stupid move and not having Switch Online console support from day one.

I think, there will be 2 nintendo direct left for this year, one in june 2024 and another probably around november 2024.
In june will be for big games, big studios and around november will be an indie world.
The last Nintendo direct for June 2024, I think they will announce more remasters and probably an announcement for one last big game like Nintendo usually does at the end of their console's life.
I think they will announce metroid prime 4 for the end of the year 2024, retro compatible switch 2 with 4K patch or HD patch.
I think Nintendo will give us a complete presentation of the next switch between september to november 2024 for a release in March 2025.
Is it possible they release the next console on March 10? March 10 (Mar10) it's the Mario Day.
What I would like to see in the next Nintendo console.
- A better, smaller dock.
- The placement of the Select button - this button is small and blocked by the joystick.
- Adaptive triggers for new joycons or a new pro controller with adaptive triggers like on the PS5 Dualsense controller
- Better HD rumble
- Magnetic joysticks to prevent joystick drift
- M.2 Mini SSD storage
- A better menu with customizable wallpapers, customizable folders and customizable sounds, like we had on 3ds but with our own pictures. They did nothing for the actual switch.
- More power and better graphics power because the latest games on Nintendo Switch are blurry, low graphics, no details, disgusting, lag..
- A faster eShop, sometime the eshop take ages to load.
- faster download, game took ages to download a game.

We don’t even know if it will be a switch 2. We just know it’s gonna be a new console.
It would be NICE if it COULD play 3DS games as well IE could still access Dragon Quest 7's 3DS DLC dungeons ON the Switch 2 though that type of BC is just NOT likely.
I don't care on the account. I care about backwards compatibility. Just keeping an account doesn't really mean anything.
My Nintendo ID/Account is the same one as my 3DS and the only things I could move over is my Pokémon through bank to home and my Mii. That's about it. "My Nintendo" used to show all my stuff I did on Wii U, 3DS, and Switch but I can't play my Wii U or 3DS games on the Switch.
So yeah. This means nothing other than simply letting me play backwards compat.
BUT.. if this info is true on possibly being backwards compat, then I will be uber happy as I would like to continue playing my Switch games on a new console.

I would like a way to convert my physical switch games to a digital game if everything will be linked to one account. Not sure how they would do that without opening a can of worms though. Probably have to exchange the physical game. Looking at Nintendos recently released software download/physical ratio, it looks like this might be the last or almost last physical generation. Thankfully I only own BotW as physical.
I don't think they would just stop doing physical games because then like... what would their aisles be filled with at the stores? If they stopped physical games then they'd basically be removing marketing.
Well unless they just sell download codes on the shelves, but still that'd take up a lot less physical space.
@@Wyatt_Brown I don't know dude, other entertainment media hasn't had a problem with that. According to their latest report, over 50% of Nintendo's Switch software was sold digitally. Go into a Nintendo store and it's mostly merch, not hardware/games. The change is inevitable. Let's say, switch games are still compatible or emulated on "Switch 3-4", switch-app.. whatever it will be... hopefully those with physical copies are not at a disadvantage. Maybe the business model will totally different by then anyway.
Plus Nintendo marketing.. movies, theme parks, ad campaigns, billboards, RUclips... physically seeing it in a store is such a small part.

I hope during the first year of the Switch 2, they would make a few Switch 1.5 games, games that can be played on the Switch 1, but has better performance on Switch 2.
That way, people who aren't ready to upgrade to the new console yet can enjoy a few more games until Nintendo puts their full focus on Switch 2 titles.
But this can also be good for other game makers.
I think there will be 1 or 2 games for both switch and switch successor. However, if they have barely any exclusive years into its life like the PS and Xbox this generation, it is just a fancier switch pro and causals won’t buy it.
Hybrid console is a must otherwise I need to buy a tv, which I haven't owned for 12 years 😅

I‘m torn about that. Sometimes I think it would be cool, then I think Nintendo games should remain pure and free from such forced incentives. If I had to guess, I would say Nintendo is still against that.
People say that but I mean...not having it for multiple generations now hasn't made nintendo any better or worse. It'd be cool, but not a loss if it's not there.

Nintendo also described the switch successor "Next model switch" which means that it's indeed a switch 2.
Relax, Nintendo actually said "next model Switch" so it's fair to call it Switch 2 for now.
I really hope the Switch successor has the same online service, so we don't have to start from scratch again for retro games.
I think that's pretty much why they made NSO. They wanted a long lasting, account connected system instead of re-uploading all the ROMS for Virtual Console each generation
Also probably why this console sounds more like an Iteration. If they keep the Switch name, then they don't have to rebrand NSO

Honestly, this is the only thing I feel the Switch lacks compared to the competition.
It's very annoying to have connection problems in Splatoon 3 and it takes so long to find a match (even longer than in Splatoon 1 on Wii U), not to mention that to this day I don't understand why the Switch doesn't have basic functions like chat, voice-chat , achievement system, feed, etc... like other consoles have.
There are games like Rayman Legends that I had played on the Wii U before, I thought about buying the game again on my Switch or my brother's PS4, but I ended up buying it on my brother's PS4 because the achievement system ended up being something that would increase my replay factor with the game and it's really cool to have the platinum trophy on my profile for one of my favorite games.
Besides, it's kind of annoying having to rely on Discord and other secondary apps to use voice chat while on PS4 you just need to connect a headset to the P2 input on your controller and you're ready to go.
Things that any Nintendo games have that will carry over to the new hardware:
1. Controller malfunction (like Joy-Con drift)
2. Framerate drops
3. Glitches
4. User errors (like chucking a Wii Remote through TV)
5. Not high enough resolution
6. Laggy internet connection
7. Complainers
If Nintendo improves any of these issues on the new console, I'll be very surprised! 😂

Why should I invest into a new Nintendo console if they're going to make it another hybrid and all my friends are too busy with work and kids. Gaming in the '30s and up is kind of like that I guess, maybe I should get a girlfriend and like have kids or whatever so I can be too busy to game
