So good! My dad had a rc-shop for 25 years so i grew up with it. Since i kinda lost touch of the hobby, you guys made me go back to it. Got myself a turbo timber and started bush flying it myself. The old man was with me this week and now we’re flying together again. Keep up the great work guys! Thats the spirit that keeps the hobby fun!
As just an idea. What if you made an airplane that lands like on a aircraft carrier and you can add a string to stop it. Idk I’ve always wanted see someone do it
I actually did sometjing similar with my Radian. I have a large property, but the radia justfloats forever, so I cant get it down in my field withlut hitting the fence. I put a rope between 2 posts, and a wire dangling down from the plane. Worked ok, however the rope was too high, so it was harder to get it to stick. Was quite fun though.
I know this was posted a long time ago, but wow! You guys are such awesome pilots, I really love watching you attempt these crazy stunts and flying in such unique places.
You guys are amazing with your bush style flying. Honestly, I applaud you for your willingness to put those planes through their paces. Just pure fun without consequence. Thank you for doing the daring for us. Cheers.
You said give you some bush flying ideas so here is one. I’m sure from all the planes you’ve flown over the years you have a decent amount of electronics. Make you’re own bush plane flight test style using everything you’ve learned from all these planes. Maybe you will end up with a nice flyer? Keep up the good vids and see ya next upload!
Thanks for the idea! We do plan to do this again soon, but for now if you haven't, check out our videos "Walking My Giant Plane" and "RC Short Landing Competition". They both feature STOL scratch builds we and some of friends of ours did under the same mission. 😀👍 -Zach
The RV-8 planes is sweet in real life and in RC form and the carbon fiber gear is super cool in itself. I’ve never seen somebody bush fly an RC plane before but I always had the idea in mind mind, was just always too scared of breaking my only plane to try it, but you guys might have pushed me over the edge into finding a place to try it somewhere
I love to see when you guys turn other normal plane to bush planes and flying them in small spaces. Maybe you could turn a corsair or something to a bush plane. It is so cool when you guys mod other planes. Love the videos!!
We add extra height to the gear since our carbon fiber isnt super stiff. It actually flexes out to absorb impacts instead of sending it straight to the air frame like all other CF gear does. Since ours flexes and returns, we add height to avoid any issues with prop strikes during that flex/squat. The big bush tires adds to the height here though haha!
@TailHeavyProductions DARE: get a Commander mPd, put it on 4S (it supports that in RF trainer) and do hovers and incorporate torquerolls like you did here! i was able to sorta do it in RF trainer (im bad lol) so u should be able to! It has plenty of thrust
I grabbed this gear from critical rc can't wait to try it out. Just wondering what wheels are you guys using in this video, I found critical rc wheels to be far too expensive. Thank u tail heavy, and thank you critical rc.
I've got the same rav 4 with all the mods and it gets me everywhere mate ! Love them !! This was a cool video , I'm already looking up one of these planes to buy😆
could you make a building tutorial for a stol plane maybe the mudgy made out of wood styro... ore you design one yourself i heard you know some engineers.. WOuld like to build it myself!
Great idea! Both Ben and I will be the first to admit we are not avid builders (reference the look of our scratch built foamies for proof)...so for this reason if we did a build video we'd definitely reach out to some of our friends who are more experienced in those arts. -Zach
@@TailHeavyProductions Some diy bush planes would be awesome. Cheap diy foamies tend to be more fun for me because I have zero issues crashing them into things. A model as expensive ( from a students perspective) as the Rv8 or Turbo Timber triggers an instant restriction in my brain. A funcub style plane cut from EPP would be super awesome! ( And indestructible)
@@dodo3441 yes definetly i mean i am also a stunden and do part time jobs to buy me ecpensive bushplanes but if i dont really want to fly them out of my comfort zone cause they are easy to crash...
Ok, Just hear me out on this, what if you took the motion RC b-24 liberator and Eachine mini p-51’s and bf-109’s and did a recreation of a battle in WWII Europe
Nice and funny video boys. Wish l could have that scills. Love the videos you make. And they trigger you to try every thing . Merry xmas to all of you . From a carpenter in north of europe.
Great video as always! When you fly around trees, have you ever experienced signal issues with 2.4 ghz? I think I have sometimes, if the plane is more than 100 feet away and there are branches between me and the plane. But it looks like you are usually closer to the plane.
So, were the carbon struts and the wheels the only mods you made to the RV-8? BTW, very impressive flying/bushing. Way, way beyond my skill level but very fun to watch.
Love your videos. I'm going to purchase the RV8 from tailheavy and wanted to know what size debro wheel to buy. Would it be a 3.5" tire with the carbon fiber landing gear?
Can anyone tell me if the yak 55 10e will accept this same gear setup? Very torn between the two planes at the moment and would like to know if that conversion is possible on the yak.
@@TailHeavyProductions - with the 13x4 being common/popular with the Timber line I'm curious how it would perform on this plane with your bush mod. As hard as I've been looking at the TT Evolution you have me seriously considering this plane instead
@@grege2383 You'd love the RV-8! Originally it replaced the TTE for me only on the 3D side of things, but now it replaces it in all aspects for me with this new gear mod. The great thing about the 6s set up is out of the box it gives a true 2:1 insane punch out with cool temps...in other words, I never even considered needing to replace the prop for performance or temp reasons. -Zach

I want this plane for this reason.
Who would have known that the RV-8 may have been a good bush plane! Keep up the good work.
For real!, where can I buy one?
That plane has a very good canopy for fpv😀👍 Would love to see some fpv bush flying😎
Now that is a next level idea friend!
I would love to see an Ultra Lite, epp, indoor, Funnycub inspired plane, build larger and more rugged.
So the og funcub?
@@Eflitevaliant1.3m built like the funny Cub but larger . Same building technique is indoor 3D. More ultralight

something that i think would be cool to convert to a bush plane is the arrows tecnam2010

So … how many battery’s and recharges were required to film this fine sequence … ?
More info on brand and type of tires please for ordering.
These tires are discontinued and can't be purchased. Sorry. 😥
yall need to design a light wing loading park flyer bush plane with 3d printable suspension landing gear out of foam board and release plans.
Would you consider this plane to be a throw around plane? I'm interested in 3d, scale, stol, all that stuff.
It definitely excels more at sport and 3D than it does bush flying but it will do the bush flying you saw in this video no problem. 👍

What is the music in the field montage
Can is break easily and is it made out of foam? because I'm a beginner and i want an easy to fly rc plane
I'd take a look at the Aeroscout or Carbon Cub S 2. This is not a great plane for a beginner.

What prop are you using for this? The stock prop?
Initially the stock 12x5 wood prop until I crashed it into a tree and broke it. 🤡 Now it’s an APC 12x4.5 because it’s all I had left as a spare. -Zach
