- This is a vintage Ronson Mastercase petrol lighter/cigarette case I picked up for $25 with original box. Both the lighter and the box are in great shape and make an awesome addition to my collection.

thats so cool that you got it working again! i like that kinda art deco style its engraved with. it reminds me of something youd see in an old black and white movie!
I was really nervous taking the striking mechanism apart. I have clumsy fingers sometimes. But it went pretty good. They have a couple more of these without boxes where I picked this one up at. Thinking about getting those too lol.
@@zippolyonsden1623 I made myself some felt pads I can put on a bench vise, and made a magnifying glass mount. That way I can practice taking apart and putting together a couple $1 lighters I got at garage sales.
Hey do you got any cigarettes? It would be cool to see if the ones they make today still fit in that case.
Cool about the pads for a vice. No I do not have any cigarettes that would fit that case. If I tore the filters off of king size ones they would fit though. I don't think they had filtered cigarettes in the 50s.
@@zippolyonsden1623 Ah dang, I just thought that would look classy if a girl asked me for one and I pulled out that combo case and lighter. That sucks that they won't fit though.
25$? That's a steal! It still looks so gorgeous too
It really is in very good shape. The box is almost pristine condition as well.
My grandfather had one from the 1950’s that he handed down to my uncle in the 80’s. I thought he had to be a spy or a Time Lord with his kit. Full of surprises, and so much fun. Thanks for sharing, bud. 😊
Thank you for commenting. Really like the Time Lord part. I'm a huge Whovian myself. 🤠
I have one just like that except the case has a black insert in the case and head. Same on the inside.
Great lighter. I did some research and these have no markings as far as date of mfg goes but mid 30s from the pics I have seen.
Bought it in a peddlers mall for $3.00
Definitely a sweet deal on the one you got! I think I have seen ones like you described on Ebay a couple times. They really are cool lighters. Yes, I believe you are right about when they were manufactured. Thanks for commenting.
