I love the backing!
These tools have improved my life!! Your explanation for joining the ends of binding using the binding boss is so easy to understand!❤
This makes me so happy! ❤️
I bought my ruler several months ago and I’m just now using them, but oh my gosh how I love them! Thank you Ginna

I have used the tools and I love them. It’s the first time I haven’t gotten confused and messed everything up!
Once again Gina is awesome. Completed my binding lickidy split. Just like a boss.
You are a boss Scarlett!! Thank you
Best video showing how to finish the binding!! Thanks!!
That's awesome to hear, thank you!!
I got my rulers yesterday, had a quilt waiting to be bound and used both rulers today. Game changer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Gina!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome, thank you Cynthia
All these years of binding without your genius rulers! I ordered the set before finishing the video! ❤😂
That is so awesome, I am really excited to see how it works for you, make sure you post to social! Thank you!
34:41. I am so thankful for this tutorial! It’s the best and so helpful. I understood everything you said and did. Phew, thank you.
That means sew much to me, I really appreciate you watching and making quilts with me! ✂️🧵
I was finally able to use both rulers on a finished quilt and I love how easy they are to use and how quickly I was able to trim and bind the quilt. Gina your rulers are amazing ❤ 5 stars for sure 😊
I am so happy to hear this Melanie!! Thanks for the purchase!
That will be great! I am new to longarming ! I can’t wait!
I love it, and the quilt. I'm a complete newbie, trying to watch as many videos as possible and trying to get my tools and supplies. Just purchased a beginner sewing machine and cutie table so I'm excited to get started soon.
I'd love for you to subscribe, I did a beginner tutorial with Fat Quarter Shop a few years ago, did you watch that one yet? Thanks for watching!
I never knew I was supposed to trim 1/4’ away from the edge of the quilt. I always just wrap it around and hand sew to back. My binding is full but skinny. I have wide binding in back. Now I know why. Lol. But it looks nice that way, too.
Well, most people do not trim like I do, so you do whatever works best for you. I just find this method gives me the best results, thank you for watching!
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti it’s a great trip!
I have purchased these rulers ! Thank you for the video , now I’m excited to use them !
Great I’m so excited for you, thanks sew much!
Great video. Easy to follow and very detailed!
Absolute genius! I am so excited about these rulers! You're the most creative person I know so of course you came up with the rulers we all need. Everyone will be binding 'like a boss' now thanks to you ♥

You are so smart and creative! Definitely need this ruler and I’ve ordered it. Saw your video when you introduced it, and I knew I had to have it! Thank you and I’ll be watching your videos.
Thanks for supporting me Norma!!
Which of the Ruby Star Society Charm packs did you use?? Beautiful colors😊
Perfect! Loved the instructions!
Thanks for watching!!
Gina, thank you so much for this informative video on using your rulers. the large ruler makes a lot more sense after seeing this. and on another note, i've been wanting to make a picnic quilt for my grand daughters with a layer cake; i think that pattern will be perfect!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and the pattern, thanks for watching!
I can’t tell you how I have been searching for a video series on long arm quilting. Thank you! This is FABULOUS!!
I am working on it now... thanks for being patient!
Great idea and went onto your site to purchase and was very disappointed to see you don't ship internationally. 😢
Got mine & eager to use them!! I needed the boss years ago 😅, but I got it now & can’t wait for that portion to be a bit easier/successful & in my husbands words “closer to perfect than before”, so thank you!!
I am sure you will kick quilt butt, can't wait to hear what you think! Thanks you!
Gina I love this video showing how to use your rulers. I am amazed and can’t wait to use them. They will be a game changer when it comes to trimming and binding my quilts. Thank you so much ❤

I sure love that blue striped binding, and it looks awesome with your super cute quilt.
I love striped binding, this one is a Ruby Star Stripe.
These rulers are genius!
This means the world to me, now I have proof when I tell my hubby how smart I am LOL Thank you!
Great tools, great video, great gal! Thanks Gina!

I would love to purchase your Glide thread starter kit when it becomes available. So excited for my rulers to come in the mail. Loved this video. It really helped me a lot to correctly attach the binding. Thank you.
I’m so glad to hear this, you have no idea. I’m working on the Glide kits now, should be available in the next couple weeks.
Terrific tutorial and congrats on your new rulers! I must admit that hand-binding isn't my fav...maybe your upcoming binding video will help me like it a little more lol. Also thanks for sharing the name of the pantograph that you used. It's really pretty.
Thank you, binding is going to be lots of fun, come back and hang out!
This picnic quilt looks so cute. The colors are so cheerful. Can’t wait to order the ruler set because my math was always a challenge for me. Looking forward to learning the hand binding. Thanks for creating the set.🪡🧵🌺👼
Thank you for watching, I’m excited to show everyone all the fun things we can make together ❤️
Loved this so much!
Aww thank you so much for watching!! Hugs
Good Evening Gina, Looking forward to using the rulers❣️ Chris
Thanks Chris, you ROCK!! Big hugs
This ruler is wonderful
Just received my set yesterday! Can’t wait to try them!!
How are they working out for you?
Thank you for new tips!
Very nice Gina, good job. Thanks for all of the tips. The rulers are awesome.
Thanks for watching - happy quilting!
I love this quilt pattern and have it in my “to do” pile. Yours is super cute, and I just love your fabrics! Your rulers are genius. Can’t wait to give them a try!
Thanks for watching, I am excited to see your perfect picnic quilt, make sure you tag me so I dont miss it!
love the way you do binding - I've been quilting for 20+ years and have never seen this method. Your website shows you are out of stock of these rules - any idea of when they will be in stock again? What is the tape you have on your machine with the 2 black lines and a red line in the middle?
You are not a dork. I just found out myself recently about those papers on rulers. Great video!
ha ha, I am glad to know that, thanks for watching Pam!
Yay! Just ordered.
I really appreciate you!
Excellent Gina, you make it look so perfect !
Oh I am so glad you made this video ... I can't wait to get my rulers! Thank you Gina!
I am really excited for you to try them, thank you!!!
Thank you for the tutorial. I was taught to trim along the edge of the quilt but I like your method.
I feel like this gives a much nicer looking binding, I hope you will try it, thanks for watching!
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti i definitely will. 😊
Hi Gina, when attaching the binding ...what size seam allowance are you using and badedbon what edge? Maybe I missed that in the video?
Congrats Gina! Awesome, helpful rulers💕🧵
Thank you Helen!!
Those are nice rulers
Thanks for watching Jeanette1
Also, the rulers look great!
Thank you Jane!
I just ordered mine! I am so excited to get them! Trimming has always been tough for me. Thank you Gina!!! Also so interested in learning how to long arm and happy you mentioned some tutorials in that area! ❤
Thank you for your order, and your sweet comment, I am excited to share more tutorials!!
You are so adorable, love your new rulers.❤️
Thank you sew much!!
The rulers are game changers! Do you ever machine stitch your quilt bindings? Great video!
Yes! That tutorial will be coming soon! ❤️
Love this video. Do you so the finding a quarter inch off the edge of the quilt top?
What if quilt top is not square before trimming with the scant batting extending over? Do the rulers work with 2 1/4" binding?
Wondering the same thing.
Awesome! Thank you Gina. 🎉I snagged mine. Wonderful video
Thanks Scarlett, you are such a great friend!
Looking forward to LA videos. Bought an Amara with PS in December and have been learning through videos and only using test quilt sandwiches.
The process can be pretty overwhelming, I hope to see you soon in upcoming videos! Thank you!
Love your rulers and the great demo; just so sorry you are already sold out of the items, as would have purchased them. Thanks.
I’m so sorry, I am extending the discount for all pre-orders until Friday, I’d love for you to give them a try! ❤ thanks for watching
This is a great ruler! So handy, I definitely will be purchasing one soon.
Thanks Sharon
Looking forward to purchasing the set of rulers. The promo code would not apply at checkout (on 2/4/23 noonish). Stated that "coupon was not available". I have several quilt tops ready for next steps and both rulers will be handy! Thank you for the video and also thank you in advance for your upcoming newbie tutorials for longarm quilting. I have a purchased an HQ Capri and want to become more proficient but struggling with tension and thread breakage.
I have been blown away by all the orders, I can't thank everyone enough!! Wow! I just adjusted the coupon code, it will work now. Thanks for letting me know :)
Love this! I’ve always trimmed my quilts up without the extra 1/4” and I’ve never liked how the binding is thicker on one side as a result…this would eliminate that! Very interested in your upcoming longarm videos and thread packs too 👍🏻👍🏻
Yay, I am so excited to hear such excitement for my new rulers, I really feel like you are going to love this method once you try it, thanks so much for watching, as well as the time to make this super great comment!!
Just cut my first quilt with the ruler! So easy and so fast to do. I love it. Do I remove the longarmer’s basting stitches around the edging? If so, at what point? I rewatched. I think you’re saying, no, don’t remove unless it shows in spots.
Love this!!!!🎉🎉🎉 I need to piece my quilt and get quilted so I can use them!
Thanks for all your help, you helped me believe I could do this!! Big hugs!
Well I was too slow and they sold out. But congratulations on the fabulous launch! I can't wait for the next batch :)
I am in shock and so happy, y'all have blown me away with orders. I have placed an order for more stock and I am now taking pre-orders with the same link on my website. I am hoping to have pre-orders ship within the next 2-3 weeks. Thanks so much!
Absolutely awesome rulers. ❤️❤️
I'm so excited to hear that, you are awesome Patricia!
Hi Gina. Looking forward to the using the trimming tool to leave a slight edge to fill the binding. I am wondering how this tool works if the quilt is not square coming off the longarm which is generally my experience as the quilting can sometimes distort the edges and corners. It seems to me that if you are lining up the lip of the ruler to the edge of the quilt that you may end up with a quilt that is not always
squared properly. Can you pls comment on this? Thx, Charyl
So if your quilt is not square coming off the long arm do you usually cut into your block to make the quilt square, or do you cut around the block?
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti I look for a seam or a series of points that line up along the side of the quilt and then lay a long ruler down and determine which marking on my ruler will give me a straight edge with the least amount of cutting into the block. I generally find I am trimming less than 1/8”, and sometimes a bit more on a corner. May be it is my longarming skills. 🤣🤣. Although I sew a straight basting line along the top of the backing and binding after it is loaded and then line the quilt top to that line.
@@charylgalpin1062 You can apply that same technique here with my ruler, and a little tug in some places will help too. I will try to address this in more detail in the next video, as many of the quilts I trim for customers are not perfect.
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti Thx Gina. That would be awesome!
Hi, Gina!! The rulers look awesome and I am planning to order the scant trimmer. I was wondering why you lengthen your stitch to 3 when you attach the binding to the quilt front?? As always, I love your creativity and your passion for what you love!!
I like to stitch my blocks and do all my piecing at 1.5 stitch length, but when I am adding the binding 1.5 can kinda pull because its very tight, so I find 2.5-3 is perfect on my Juki.
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti Thank you!! I knew there was a good reason ! 😊
Will this method work with machine stitching in the ditch on the front? If binding is cut at 2.5”, will there be enough binding to catch on the back? Thanks.
Yes, I’ve done it many times! I’ll have a machine binding tutorial coming soon to explain. Thanks for watching 😍🧵✂️
I’m sad to see that I missed my chance at your rulers. But so happy for you that they sold out so fast. How do I make sure I get them?
I am in shock and so happy, y'all have blown me away with orders. I have placed an order for more stock and I am now taking pre-orders with the same link on my website. I am hoping to have pre-orders ship within the next 2-3 weeks.
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti thank you! Ordered!
@@jennygodfrey9755 I appreciate you!! Can't wait to see what you will make with them first!😍
When are you getting them again in stock? I see they have already sold out.
do you ever match the fabrics when you are making the binding so the pattern is exact?
I’ve done it a couple times with stripes, but not normally.,
Hi Gina love your rulers. Do you have a supplier in Australia.
Gina love the quilt and your new rulers, went to order them but you have sold out - well done....
how long before you have more stock?
kind regards
Judy Ducrou your friend in Australia 😘😘😘
Hello Judy, good to hear from you and thank you for watching! I was so bummed and excited to sell out, I had hoped they would go over well, but selling out the first weekend was definitely unexpected. I have more on order and hope to see them without the next few weeks. Hope you are well friend ❤️
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti Ill be watching your tips are great love the quilt you did the demo on. See you soon on your videos.💗💗
I back ordered your ruler. When will it be shipped?
Hope you are loving the rulers!! Thanks for the purchase!
What about squaring up the quilt? Do you not need to do that when using this ruler?
I explain that in one of the tutorials. But there are two ways to look at this…. Either my quilts are square when I piece them, or they are not. So if it was already square when it was quilted I simply trim all the way around with the scant amount. Or if it was not square I still just trim around it with my scant ruler. I never cut into my blocks to square my quilts up, if it’s a little off I just go with it. The honest truth is that most quilts that come through my studio are not perfectly square, but once bound and washed nobody will ever know. The only reason I would worry about it personally is if I was entering it to a show for judging and in that case I’d make sure it was square during the piecing process. I hope you’ll read some of my reviews and try the set.
Just so that I understand, what is the measurement from the stitch line to the cut edge? I’m trying to figure out where to place my needle once everything has been trimmed down.
Place your needle 1/4 or a scant 1/4 in from the quilt edge, depending on your machine. Stitch a small test section and fold it over to the back to see what works best for you, adjust as necessary.
Thanks, Gina. I’ll test it out as soon as my new rulers are delivered 😊
I really like putting my binding on while the quilt is still on the longarm. Do you ever do that? Or do you ever trim your quilts while they are on the longarm?
I have tried attaching binding on the long arm, but I prefer using my Juki. Thank you sew much for watching my new video!!
Will this technique work if my binding is only 2 1/4?
No, This ruler is only for 2.5" binding strips. Typically the only reason quilters cut them to 2.25" is because they are sewing it right to the quilt edge, but since my technique leaves the scant 1/4 you want that extra so it looks perfect and even on both front and back side of the quilt.
Did you say whether your binding is 2 or 2 1/2 inches?
No, this binding boss is for 2.5” binding strips. I have plans for a slim tool and chunky one later this year!
Love these rulers? What size do you cut your bindings? I typically use a 2 1/4” binding
I show 2.5" binding strips here - thanks for watching!
Do you cut your binding at 2.5”? I ordered my rulers today!
Yes, 2.5” and thank you sew much!
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti thank you!
Great video! I tried to buy the ruler combo, but the coupon code didn’t work.
I have had several other orders this morning using the discount code, so I know it is working. Could you try it again, and if you still have trouble give me a call, and I will be happy to help you place your order. Thank you
Did you actually use a pantograph or computerized? Those rulers look great.
This is a digital pantograph, you can also buy paper pantographs, but I do not use those since my machines are both computerized. Thank you for watching.
Will you sell to Canada?
My longarm quilter trims my quilt before she sends it back to me. But the binding boss looks helpful!
Thanks for watching!
Would love to buy these rulers but when I went to the shop it was $108 AUD and cannot justiy for the cost when you add postage $30USD plus currency conversion. Will need to wait for wholesale distribution or find alternative
I’m really sorry, since the ruler is 20” long it’s considered oversized and expensive to ship internationally, I will continue to look for better options. If you have a local shop that would like to stock it have them reach out to me to discuss a wholesale order. Thanks for watching ❤️
How wide should binding be
2 1/2 inches is the typical, then it's folded in half.
Does anyone machine bind front and back ? Would this work with machine binding ? TY
What if the quilt isn;t square?
No problem, you can still trim it with the ruler. You can either trim into the quilt top to square it up, or just trim around the blocks.
Thank you!
I just subscribed, went to purchase the ruler combo, and you’re sold out……😞
I’m totally shocked and so thankful that I have received such an overwhelming amount of orders this first weekend, I WILL have more in stock soon! Thank you for subscribing!! ❤️❤️
@@GinaTellThreadGraffiti Please order some more! I was too late, also! Great video.
Do you ship to Canada? I need more info. I sent an email on your website but have not gotten a reply.
Yes I do, and sorry for the delay in answering!
No offense, there are already lots of great binding tools and rulers for doing quilt trimming that require zero math.
It's interesting that you would take the time to make this comment? I am thrilled to hear that you have found tools that already work for you! Happy Quilting!
If you cut the binding strips about 1/8” short, so they don’t meet in the middle, you shouldn’t get that little pleat/fold when stitching the final section of binding down. For bias binding I leave about 1.4” space..it just springs in place.
