So glad this park is being advertised by the coaster community. It might be off to a slow start, but I really want to see it thriving.
It's so lovely, isn't it!
We had a great day!
I really hope this park starts getting in bigger crowds and becomes a proper destination for the general public.
It looks so fantastic and like they put in so much effort to make the place pop. It's absolutely delightful to see the praise given by the community and I just hope it spreads even more!
We really hope so!
Love living vicariously by watching your adventures :-) keep on riding! Be great if you did a “wrap-up” vlog of your trip with your favourites and recommendations.
Thank you so much!
It's so cool to see the birth of a theme park! The owners did a fantastic job with planning & designing, & it shows. They could've just slapped some rides in there & called it a day, but instead they created an immersive sensory experience. I definitely see Disney's influence in the attention to detail. Not gonna lie, I'm a little worried for this quiet park in the middle of Iowa. But I do hope Lost Island is like The Little Engine That Could, because it really does look like a great little park with the potential to be a great big park if they can hold on long enough. This channel showcasing them will certainly help.
It’s a great park!
At 47:47 when they go into the kids side of the park, the music in the background is from Stardew Valley!
Yes i noticed that! HaHa! Its been everywhere since CA said all his songs were free to use lol
Only watching the review for 5 minutes and I can already tell this is going to be my favourite so far for the USA road trip, because I LOVE themeparks
Enjoy!
it always makes me laugh when charlotte go's on water rides
This park looks amazing! I’m so glad you guys are promoting it as it definitely deserves bigger crowds. I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in the US!
It’s a great park!
How incredible it is to think of a park and build it from scratch… thanks for sharing ! I hope it succeeds
Saw you guys walking around the park a few times that day. I'm glad that the weather held off and you both had a great time. Thanks for encouraging the audience to come visit the park. It really is a unique and ambitious gem in the US theme park market, and can certainly use all of the attention it can get.
Thank you. We had a great time!
It such a nice looking park with lots of potential. I really hope attendance picks up, so they can survive long enough to reach that potential. It’s so rare that a new ground up park opens in the US, especially one that is family owned.
How brilliant! This looks like a really interestingly themed park! Plenty of room for growth here too, I'm glad you came here, hopefully it brings them more people, it deserves it doesnt it x
We had a great time!
Shawn and Charlotte,
It seems that they are building for the future, a lovely place with so much potential.
In five years or more this will grow into a great park.
It's easy to forget that a Child's perspective is at a much lower height, so things seem bigger and more impressive.
Shawn, do you remember how things looked from your early point of view?
Sometimes when I'm with children I try to squat down to get a feel what it's like for them, it helps me
to appreciate how differently they see a world that we've forgotten.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Love all the vlogs so far!!! Cant wait. For dollywood and kings island and holiday world is you go there!! Hope you guys are having an amazing time together!!
This park is a massive contender for a new gen Vekoma like Fonix.
The sounds that Charlotte was making on that SLC were both funny and terrifying 😂
Probably the same as I made when I had my first ride. That first inversion is terrible.
Very fitting that I’m actually going here tomorrow! 😁
What a terrific-looking theme park. Thanks for sharing your journey through this one! Can't wait to visit.
I’m really rooting for this park! I’ve been obsessed with researching it Recently and I’ve decided I wanna make a trip asap. It looks absolutely worth it. The dark ride and matugani look like a lot of fun to me. I’m thinking of heading out the last weekend they are open. And if not than early next year. I really wanna support the park. Its almost a 9 hr drive From where I’m at in Michigan. So hope it’s worth it! I’ma go to six flags great America too to split up the drive. Because I’m going alone. But great video as always! Always enjoy watching these vlogs.
Thank you!
What a cute little park will be great to see it in the future. Great day again. Drive safe can’t wait for the next one ❤ Lisa
Looks a lovely park that not very busy either loving the vlogs guys
Loving your fantastically positive energy. And Charlotte showing more personality. Best youtube channels by far.
Thank you!
The ammount of room for expansion this park his is amazing. i see this park doing very well in the future. i think a big standout coaster like an intamin multi launch, mack launch or maybe an rmc hybrid would be huge for this park. excited to see what they do and another great vlog
Except the fact it's in.... Iowa. There's more people in my metro area than in all of Iowa haha.
@@jonny-b4954 It is kind of remote, yes. "If you build it they will come" right? With advertising and word of mouth. Three hours from the Twin Cities. Four hours from Chicago and Omaha. Five hours from Kansas City and St. Louis. Not a bad drive from any large metro area. Since it isn't just a regular amusement park like Six Flags or Cedar Fair parks. It's getting the word out that it is here and open. I've been meeting people from all over while I'm here. I really hope it thrives as it is a great themed park. Advertising needs to be better for sure.
@@sparkjr2039 True, true. Nice 2 day, or one very long day trip for a family. Hope they get the attendance so they end up investing more! Probably should spend it on advertising for now though.
@@jonny-b4954 They really do need to work on advertising that is for sure.
@@jonny-b4954 I live in Waterloo where the park is located. We draw in people from within a 60 mile radius who come here to shop and eat, and some even to work. It's not at all uncommon for people to drive to the "larger" Iowa cities from the rural area. The water park has a huge following and we're starting to see those people coming to the park, especially since this year they have season passes. There is also a KOA campground and the Isle Capri Casino & Hotel right by.
They must be losing shed loads of money, hope more people start to go there. Good that you're giving them a positive review.
This is my home park - I live 10 minutes away. Attendance has been steadily increasing every day!
@@AnnEckhart That makes me so happy to hear! I want to see this place thrive so badly!
@@AnnEckhart oh good
Thank you for the recommendation hope to be going there soon😊
Love the new park!
They are playing "Spring (Wild Horseradish Jam)" from the Stardew Valley soundtrack at 47:20
You have a good ear, I love stardew valley and it's music but I didn't hear that
That jolt on Nopucko is actually a new prefabricated track piece, and they’re deciding what’s next to ease that transition .
I am so happy you were able to go to this park
Great to see small parks getting some love by Amusement park enthusiasts
We loved it!
Man I hope this park takes off, that area of the country needs this!
Did not realize your travels were taking you to Lost Island. Hoping to check it out when i visit family in IA this summer
We had a great day!
I’ve been watching you for ages and never once imagined you being all of 100 miles from me. Lol. Hope Iowa treated you well. Safe travels!
Sad to read a lot of negative comments from people saying how the park ‘is gonna fail’, etc. You’re lucky to have a brand spanking new park, especially themed to such a high level. That dark ride is world class! Maybe go and support it, instead of being so negative.
It’s definitely got Toverland vibes. A GCI would be great here or a next gen Vekoma. I hope the park does well and can reach its full potential over time.
Thank you! The social media trolls have been very cruel. And none of them have actually visited the park. You really have to see it in person to appreciate everything it has to offer!
We wish this park the best of success!
If people watch this vlog more people would make the trip to lost islands cause of your youtube channel theme park worldwide
I like the mixture of on ride and off ride footage
oh yes the purple is so calming, i loved that purple ride coaster, see me sitting here in my room i didnt feel that jolt so i wouldnt know, but i felt the smoothness of the ride, what is that called when i am sitting at home and can feel the motion??
I love all things tiki, so i was sold the moment i saw the grand entrance. I love that this is a family owned park, and the work they've done to make a fully themed experience just looks great. I really hope they have busier days ahead, thanks for bringing this park to my attention!
This place is amazing and the beer that was made for the park is delicious 💯
I live 5 minutes from this place. Very cool to have our own park.
This park really needs a massive stand out coaster to attract people to it, maybe an RMC?
Arieforce moment
Zadra clone
Chill
It just opened
They gotta be careful with how well the park does before they can invest something that big
They wana build a Vekoma launched flyer, so that will do it!
Never heard of this park but looks like it has a lot of potential. Going to be interesting to see what they do with this place in the future. Its already pretty nice but looks like they have left plenty of space for future expansion.
They seem to have a lot planned for future expansion but the people have to come first. Their water park is always busy but advertising hasn't been top notch yet.
@@sparkjr2039 I agree. It seems like a nice park but there is barely anyone there. You'd think in that part of the US there wouldn't be too much competition. Sounds like they would benefit from better advertising.
@@theweakestlink2278 They very much need better advertising. There are people in the area that say they don't know it's open. Adventureland is 2 hours away. Valley fair is 3 hours away. SF Great America is 4 hours. World's of fun is 5. Nothing really of the themed type. Closest would probably be Silver dollar city which is about 9 hours I think. They have billboards around in Minnesota, Wisconsin. Omaha, Nebraska and other cities in Iowa but I don't really pay attention to billboards so I'm guessing others don't either. They need some RUclips ads or something. I see Adventureland ads on here all the time but I've not once seen one for Lost Island on here. I'd do a lot of things differently but I'm not the owners so it's not my choice.
Let’s hope this place survives 5 more years to see that landscape grow 😂
They’ve planted nearly 40,000 trees, shrubs, and flowers! We are all patiently waiting them to grow, but they definitely are. Last year they were little seedlings; this year you definitely see them coming along.
@@TD75 You can only transplant trees that are so big and have them survive. You can't go dig up a 20 ft tall tree and replant. It most likely wouldn't survive that stress.
@@TD75 I'm not even talking cost I'm talking about large mature trees suffering transplant shock.
I’m sure it will do!
I really hope this park takes off. The theming is nice and operations look fantastic. They really put a lot of love into it. Hope I can visit here someday!
We loved it!
At timestamp 37:53 the other guy on the ride says "It's like we're on one of those mixers!" Well let me tell you I speak Iowan, and I can confidently say that guy was referring to Adventureland's flat ride called Mixer, which was a Zamperla that operated from 1997-2005. It had its own TV commercials in the local markets, can be seen in the 1998 Adventureland park commercial, and was widely known around the state at the time. He was of course referring to the slow, off-axis inversions that were the defining characteristic of Mixer.
Love it guys
This seems like a great little park with SO much potential and room for expansion. The theming is fantastic. I look forward to seeing this park grow over the years. 😊
We loved it!
Thanks for another great video, I love your attitudes, even when you're not happy with a certain ride or park, you are always polite and explain to us why without antics. Can't say the same for some of the commenters here. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Thank you!
Amazing Vlog!
This is an amazing park love all the rides 😊 🔥 lots of luck with your channel from ParkVibes to Theme Park Worldwide 😂
Gorgeous park.
Great Vlog as always Shawn and Charlotte
The park is playing the Stardew Valley soundtrack 😂😂
Looking at the map, it reminds me of Six Flags New Orleans a bit, except we replaced Mega Zeph with an SLC, a Wild Mouse with a hydraulic launch, a Vekoma family coaster with a Wacky Worm, and the dark ride is on the other side of the park. The drop tower, ferris wheel, and kids area are roughly in the same spot though
The SLC is like the Big Bad Wolf in Busch Gardens, Williamsburg circa 1990's.
What a great looking park. If the park prospers and grows with the same level of care, investment and theming I believe it’ll be world class. Apart from the caterpillar obviously 😉
Hi Shawn and Charlotte I hope you are having a great time I am going back to Tenerife in November and we are going to do Siam park i had a great time and we will be doing jungle park and going on the bobsleigh again it was great fun
Wow! I haven’t seen a printed map in so long. Love that
collected them as a kidb got hundreds from orlando, miss them
That empty building is indeed for a carousel. It was supposed to open with the park however the refurbishing company is taking a lot of extra time to restore it.
Thanks for sharing!
Happy Travels! Can't wait to see Charlotte's reaction to Holiday World! Say hello to Santa and have a meal in the Plymouth Rock/Thanksgiving restaurant!
Love your content! I always look forward to a new Theme Park Worldwide video!
You are probably the first ever international visitors this park has ever had, I can't think of anyone else that would drive all the way to the middle of Iowa just to go to a place like this hahah.
We’ve had visitors from Germany and Brazil in just the past week. There is a lot to do in the area along with the theme park. The water park is across the street along with the Isle of Capri Casino & Hotel, KOA Campground, and all of the big chain restaurants and stores. Plus there is the John Deere museum and other entertainment venues.
We had a great day!
Will that map go in the British Theme Park Museum? 2:05
What a great park ! The room
For expansion is awesome! I don’t get the roller coaster. Choices… not many people are going to travel there for a SLC and once they get better coasters no one will want to ride that…. The intamin is a good choice! But I agree with everyone else this need a brand new coaster to get people to go! Thanks for the video!
The owners are water park people. When they bought the coasters the really didn't know much about amusement park rides. They have publicly said they didn't know that SLCs are rough and Intamin launchs can have a lot of problems. I would love a new RMC or something!
Also that space in the water realm is going to be a carousel ride called Nika’s Gift
This park looks like Six Flags New Orleans if it was rebuilt.
Lovely nice park smaller than your normal bigger USA parks . Nice coasters and yes a park that needs a few nice coasters or expansion. Did you meet up with Brett this trip
We had a great time! We haven’t seen Brett this trip, however will be again soon!
The SLC hasn’t got a lot of life left in it, vekoma have said it has a few years at best
That jolt on the first inversion is painful.
Looks like a fantastic little park with tons of potential. Hopefully they get more attendance to spur further investment. Doubt they're making a profit on days like this. Probably should have transplanted a few large trees in though. Maybe also built 1 stand out coaster. But they probably went with the dark ride as the stand out. Great video as always.
The way you both said oh my god at the exact same time going into that first inversion on the SLC has me crying of laughter 😂😂😂😂
This park looks really nice, I hope it has a good future. I just don't understand why they bought a SLC out of all coastertypes 🙈
when the seatbelt hit the camera on the matugani pov i nearly had a heart attack lmao XD
55:48 Is that the former Nautilus ride from Tivoli Gardens? It was replaced by Astronomen in 2017 but since they are both the same ride I just assumed it was a retheme but clearly not
This park has great potential especially since they're investing into the park's theme and lore. I just hope they get enough attention 🙏
Definitely!
I’m from Iowa and have been to the water park a few times before but had NO IDEA they opened a theme park too! Definitely will have to check it out.
That purple SLC looked beautiful from the ground, gorgeous colourscheme but then, oww that jerk and rut the coaster hit in the first section and your pained reactions reminded me of my one and ONLY ride on Infusion!! 😂😂😮
This park looks really good the dark ride wow I thought those people was real 🤣 I’m blown away with how many parks there is in America
Sean what tips would u give me for going to this theme park ⛲
Finished cooking and now have dinner and look the flog off today....... Enjoying my meal and watching a new park and coasters ....How lovely to see the big smile of enjoying youre trip is amazing ......Thanks for the video and all the info about the park or atraction/coaster.Can't wait for the next park video .....Good work Greets from the Netherlands
I live in Iowa and this park isn’t going to make it. Not in a big metro or tourist area.
Also they’ve made terrible decisions like not connecting it with the water park
I hope it makes it. But I’m not optimistic
We hope they do well!
The entrance and decor reminds me of volcano bay
They actually got the music composer of Volcano Bay to write original musical themes for each realm.
It definitely has those vibes
I did notice that there are not a lot of trees which I think takes away from the park. Would have camouflaged the smaller size of the park.
I like this park to watch however is to big like a Teen park and some are kids
Your right, a carousel is supposed to go under there. I think it's supposed to open up next year.
This channel really inspired me to get out there and start seeing the theme parks beyond the UK. Did a Netherlands trip last year and Port Aventura earlier this year. Energylandia in a few months :)
Do you know what cost is to visit? I looked at their website but didn't see the cost! Looks really cool though!
The official website features the current admission prices!
I think that this park could do with a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster or an Intamin Multi-Dimensional Coaster…
New park very nice theme throughout. The launch coaster looked fun. But that dark ride looked the best. Very interactive and designed well.
The round pavilion by the Ferris wheel is awaiting the carousel i’veheard it’s been delivered and they’re waiting to install
Def Toverland vibes
Wanted to see u down in dolly wood be down there Monday anyways love the road trip.
Lost island is a beautiful theme patk i love the colors that they choose specially the purple color my favorite color. I love you guys and have fun and be safe.
Nice vlog, a good new park with so much potential for future, shame you didn't get to go on Charlotte's favourite ride located at the back of the park a.k.a the log flume. I think she secretly enjoys them, she says she don't, but I'm not convinced lol. But all jokes aside, would of loved to have seen ride POV on log flume aswell review of it, but I guess will have to wait and see that in future. Park has so much potential, yes its immersive with lamps, setting etc. But I do honestly think theming could be better especially on all coasters & rides, as it still does look bare to me. I know planting has a long way to go yet & time to grow, but I'm talking about log flume and coasters themselves. Just look too bare for me & think theming could of done with more added like scenery, near misses, tunnels, waterfalls, planting around coasters and more. But hopefully this is something that comes overtime. Drone & fireworks show or jet ski show would be epic here, with lake wouldn't be surprised if in future this extends & connects onto Water Park? Forming it into one big site & resort via hotels, parking and maybe even rail connections? But I guess have to see if this is in plans, but loads of expansion space for future which is good, think and agree RMC Coaster be good here, on lake at back? Or if not? GCI Wooden Coaster like size of Megaphobia at Oakwood? But nice video, vlog, really enjoyed and look forward to seeing new vlogs in future. 😀👍
Wow what a,beautiful theme park so colourful 😍 😍😍😍 I hope it does really well ❤
This park looks super-impressive! I think that it could really use a family thrill coaster that's well-themed. Maybe a family launch coaster?
I hope the park is able to survive, looks incredible!
Same theming as the park from Scooby doo movie 😂
wow that animatronic in volkanu looked so real!! oh i am back to watch and pause!!
It’s awesome!
Are you coming to Liseberg this year?
We hope so!
I don't see how this park lasts another year. They spent a ton of money on custom designed flat rides but yet did no research and bought a coaster that literally no one likes, and next to nothing on landscaping. And none of the rides have pronouncable or memorable names. I feel someone that barely plays Rollercoaster Tycoon would have done a better job.
The water park is apparently very successful, so will likely be able to "carry the load" so to speak while the theme park grows.
I will agree with you on the SLC. They are rough coasters and no one is planning trips around SLCs. I'd disagree on the landscaping. You can't transplant 20 year old oak trees or anything. They wouldn't survive the stress. There is a ton of landscaping and that landscaping there is probably thousands of dollars.
@@sparkjr2039 They should have put in hills around and throughout the park taking into account it would take trees years to fill in.
@@restlessbohemian26 I guess I would rather see them spend some money on sodding some of the areas over the large areas with wood chips than having hills. The wood chips in the flower/plant beds is fine but the the large areas of wood chips just makes it look unfinished from the water park
@@sparkjr2039 The park is lacking in sight barriers. It needs either dense woods, hills, high fences or walls so you can't literally see through the entire park. Flat flower beds and wood chips look nice but do not make a theme park. You shouldn't be able to see from land to land or all across the park. There's no immersion in the theme if you can see through and past the illusion. I only suggested hills because it gives you that immediate result. and would have fit into their original budget. A 10 foot sapling looks a lot taller on top of a 10 or 15 foot hill. Also hides what's right around the corner which is exactly what this park needs. You want to wonder what is over there, not see it sitting out in the open surrounded by woodchips lol.
yes!!! Volkanu was amazing i felt the heat, teehee
