Thank you so much for uploading this video right now. I was literally sitting feeling numb. You're collectively making so many peoples mental health better, you have no idea lol
Went to a book store and was asked to fill a form of what books I thought they should stock. I may have suggested the A Clockwork Reader Journal because it is beautiful, just like you
I also recently picked up "A Magic Steeped in Poison," partly because the cover is so damn beautiful, but also because I'm a huge tea drinker! I can't wait to dig into it.
OMG the intro showing copperfield's unlocked my childhood!! I went into a deja vu moment and was like wait... this isn't deja vu. I lived in that town when I was really little and copperfield's was so magical to me! and you can see the sign for the butter festival! ahhh I miss that place
Is this my faviroute booktuber? Yes Is this my faviroute hobby (as in buying books)? Yes AM I IN WATERSTONES AS THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN POSTED? Yes. Love you Hannah!!!
I love the picture of Dorian Grey and I actually have a red hardcover version with a leathercover and golden writing on it. It's so simple but beautiful and I got it for like 2 euros in a book market for used books. Its one of my favorite books
I’ve been rewatching your last few videos because I really wanted to hear your soothing voice after a busy busy week of uni deadlines, so this video came at just the perfect time 🤍 hope you’re doing well and thank you so very much for brightening my day 🥰
I went to my go-to local bookstores too just yesterday after a long time, and ahhh it was just so fun to devour sections to sections, recognizing popular or familiar book covers, finding new interesting ones, and browsing through different editions of classics! It’s really rare for me to be able to take my time on a bookstore, and have enough time to check through all the shelves I’m interested in, so it was just a moment to take advantage of. I saw so many new selections, new arrivals, new editions, covers. I saw a whole section dedicated to the current popular books in the community. And a whole line dedicated to iconic and pretty looking classic editions. I saw a complete collections of the two book series i’ve been wanting to read. The one series and few books i have read that i used to find difficulty in finding it in real-life bookstores near my area. And so many other books that are on my TBR but i’ve never thought i will have a chance to _actually_ buy it on my local bookstores. There were many gasps and “wait what??” I was so pleasantly surprised by how much choice there were. Our bookstores here are great, but they’re pretty limited. Most of the times, they have little selections of the kind of books I’m interested in. And those bookstores trips just exceeded all my expectations. I could live there, honestly 😭
Copperfields is the best! The downstairs area is super cool and you can always find like weird lil things down there. Next time you’re in town go into the ice cream store!!
just found you aka a fellow persian reader and lover of books and you are the first person on booktube that i follow that is persian and that makes me very happy
You look so beautiful and happy. You are going to love The housekeeper and the professor, I promise. It's such a unique and character driven story. (Even though non of the characters are named, except one) And it tore me into pieces and it kind of made me want to love someone the way housekeeper loved professor. Nothing romantic, just loving for the sake of it. It's so peaceful and quiet in the book. . 😭 I think in the last chapter of the book the woman says," that wouldn't be necessary, I will be there. And You see, he can never remember you, but he can never forget me." And I couldn't breathe for a minute after reading that sentence😭
I love going "booking" as I call it. I used to do it on Saturdays and enjoy it so much. I have about four big boxes of books I haven't read. They are still in the boxes in my garage from when I moved. In fact, lots of things are still in those boxes. I am aiming to get into them this summer.
You need to read The Jasmine Throne. It's an Indian adult high fantasy with morally grey sapphics who are trying to overthrow their kingdom. It has supernatural/magical elements to it. It is also character driven and it's amazing. I highly recommend it
I lost my puppy recently, she waa like family to me. I had started reading Before the Coffee gets Cold because you recommend it. And I just wanted to thank you because it helped me go through the hell of losing someone you love.
I have been supporting u since 2018! But it brings a smile seeing that u have uploaded a video…I have been on a reading slump for wt feels like forever!! And watching ur videos and u talking abt books makes me pick them and read!!! Love from India 🇮🇳 ❤️❤️
Yes! Hannah uploads and a new kdrama airs today! My kind of day. Also I saw your insta story. And I’m not gonna lie but I didn’t think you’d read Red Queen. But I hope you liked it. I started it a while back but didn’t get very far. I have a tendency to leave books. Lol
I've read the Stationery Shop by Marjan Kamali on my vacation in Greece and really loved it. ❤ All my Rage is on my wishlist too. Currently I bought all the missing volumes of Yona of the dawn because i'am so obsessed with the show. Now I have all the volumes published in germany. I've read 10 volumes so far and I really love the manga.❤
All my rage is the best book I have read since ember. I still think about the characters like they’re friends who have drifted away. I can’t wait to see what you think of it.
orange was a beautiful manga, i read it a couple years ago and it made me feel so many emotions i still get into a weird happy-sad mood (nostalgic??) when i think about it! i hope you end up reviewing it :))
Omg yes me too!! I hated season one of Bridgerton so I was kinda mad that season 2 was coming out on my birthday, but when I sat down to hate watch it I ended up binge watching it and loving it!!
A woman is no man by etaf rum is so powerful and I highly recommend!! One side is the mother growing up while she is married off from Palestine into America. The other perspective is her daughter being raised by the mothers mom and I feel it’s raw and says a lot!!
love your videos and the way you talk higashino’s books are amazing! love that you’re reading so many japanese translated book if you like heart stopper and blue flag, you’ll probably enjoy “my love mix up” it’s boys love romance and it’s very cute!
Idk if you've read these manga yet, but if you haven't I highly recommend: I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, Ao Haru Ride, Dreamin' Sun (it's by the same mangaka as Orange), and Given!
I'm such a sucker for a beautiful cover of a book I've already read. I own so many versions of Little Women because I love the book but also there are so many nice editions
I am currently reading the Atlas Six and I got so excited when you said you’ve read it, and will be making a video! I love it so much so far, and will be binging the rest of it after this video!!
I've *devoured* Yona of the Dawn this past year. I've been reading them through my library as Ebooks. And with every volume I finish, I get more bummed that it only got one season. I can read a volume in about an hour, so I try to borrow as many volumes as I can at a time from my library. I hope to own the series one day because I know for sure that I will reread it. (I only like to own physical copies of books that I will reread)
Yoko Ogawa's The Housekeeper and the Professor is one of the best books I've read this year, so far. I am sure you will like it since you like Convenience Store Woman too.
As I was watching your manga section I kept thinking about how I should pick up Orange again. I bought it as an impulse and have only read about 20 pages. Then seeing you buy the entire collection gave me that extra push to actually pick it back up lol
I saw the movie for The Miracles of the Namiya General store a few years ago and didn't know the book was translated into English. I think I'll give it a read and re-watch the movie after. You always have such good book rec's. I'm reading Before the Coffee Gets Cold now.
I know its a bad idea to suggest you books rn but I HIGHLY recommend the island of missing trees by Eli Shafak. Its the most lyrical book I've read in the longest time and every line is just filled to the brim with emotions and lush descriptions and THE most unique pov's. I really think you'll like it😊
Have you seen the vintage classics Japanese editions? It’s a collection of 5 books and they’re BEAUTIFUL. There’s a really cute edition of The Housekeeper and the Professor
OMG The Miracles of the Namiya General Store!! I would definitely recommend listening to the song (theres a song in the movie, yes there’s a movie!!!) when you’ve reached the part of where they mentioned the song!!!!! There are two versions!!! Select the correct one! (Both are correct but the timing and all) You’ll know which by then. I cried. CRIED at Starbucks with my frappuccino 😭😭😭
Dictionary of Obscure Words! There used to be a website for that and I loved it! Added the book to my basket ready for when I’m payed, lovely video by the way ☺️
Can't wait to see your video on the Atlas Six, currently buddy reading and I honestly picked it up because I was missing the Magicians and it gave me a similar vibe
Seeing this video made me very happy, especially because I was having a hard day. It was so calming and fun and the books you picked up look amazing! Glad you found the missing manga volumes, I absolutely know the feeling lol Once again thanks for the video and best wishes for the new day~
I've bought The Starionery Shop but havent read it yet, have to many new books so now I really have to control myself, no kore new books for a while 😅😅 but I want to read When the coffee gets cold, sounds delightful...
OMD I literally pre-ordered A dictionary of obscure sorrows, as soon as I heard of its existence, I LOVE IT, it's s beautiful and serene, and I didn't know that I felt and the word felt so many things until I saw their words in the dictionary omd it's great
Hehe, that's really funny because I was re-reading Heartstopper in physical form while also reading Blue Flag a week or so ago! They are definitely similar. Also check out "I Cannot Reach You"!
I just finished season 3 of My Brilliant Friend on HBO and it's really good, I've been watching it since it came out. I think you'd like it! I kinda wanna read the book too (I'm reading Station Eleven after watching the show cause I loved it so much).
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Alone With You in the Ether!!! I finished it this week and holy cow... It is an all-time favorite for sure. I loved it!
This is just a little recommendation but i read the book “The Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea” by Axie Oh recently and it’s so good and it has complete Spirited Away vibes and I just kept thinking of you the whole time because it’s like reading a korean story of nostalgia. I highly recommend!!!
