okay okay y’all have convinced me to visit lake michigan!! i will visit one day and report back here to confirm that it’s not like other lake beaches lolll
Haha! I am from Michigan and wondered if you've ever visited. It's so beautiful, and honestly, when you are sitting on the beach of Lake Michigan it has a similar gravitas as the ocean. "No salt, no sharks, no worries," as Michiganders like to say. But that is just my very biased opinion;)
When I saw a Hoover book I knew right away where it belongs 😂 I've never read a Hoover book and I'll never read one ever cause i trust your and some of other people when they says there's a reason why they all are disaster
Tbh, I personally have never heard anyone mention her books as romance books but more about what romance is not. I mean anyone who recommended me her books told me that they are based on but more like what love is not.
I am not even a fan of romance but Sarah Hogle's "You Deserve Each Other" was such a beautiful and laugh out loud funny book. It deserves SO much hype. Most romance novels tend to have characters that seem to be stereotypes and caricatures. This was so refreshing to read because the tropes did not feel superimposed. The author has such a clever way with words and her characters are charming, sassy and genuinely unique personalities without trying too hard which is so rare in this genre. It's such an underrated book. I've read all books by Sarah Hogle now and her books are like a steaming cup of tea under the warmest blanket with snow falling visibly outside the window.
One of my favorite books, im not a fan of the second chance trope, but i love that in this book they work on their relationship and learn to trust in each other.
In defence of Lake Michigan, the Great Lakes are just unsalted oceans. They’re so big you can’t see the other side and they’re sandy bottomed. They even have small tides! They’re not like a backwater pond that people call lakes in the rest of the world 😂
I totally agree with your Emily Henry ratings! I remember hearing that Emily Henry said she wrote beach read for herself specifically so that explains the amount of heart and vulnerability she poured into it which is why it’s so appealing imo ❤ also as a fellow Californian, I very much agree with your “beach” term criticism lol
This is actually the first valentines day I've felt rlly happy with myself bcuz I've been literally singing about buying myself flowers for a month now😂
Omg 9:31 and 12:00! The zoomed-in editing of adding these books into “right to jail”, the look on Hannah’s face, the SILENCE!!!! I could help but LOL at them! This is why we love and trust Hannah!!! 😂😂😂😂
With Beach Read being one of my favourite books of ALL TIME, I was so anxious waiting to hear/see where you put it 😮💨😂 just staring at it the whole video was TORTURE, Hannah HOW COULD YOU TAUNT ME LIKE THIS 😂😭❤️
As a single woman in her 30s this video is a comfort watch for me. Watching it in my blanket with late night snacks (kababs and dahi baray). Thanks for the laughs and the recommendations.
I have been single every single Valentine’s Day. However, I have two bottles of wine, Barbie movie collection, and my blind date with a book. So it’s prefect.
Just commenting as someone who lives in Chicago, but is from the east coast and has been to many ocean beaches: Lake Michigan beaches are absolutely still beaches!! Lake Michigan isn't just any ordinary lake, it's a great lake, meaning it is so massive that you don't see land on the other side. Are there less waves and salt and more vegetation? Yes. But in the summer, the beach fulfill any criteria you want from a beach adventure. Don't judge the Great Lakes until you've spent time here
When it comes to book recommendations, I only trust Hannah. All of the books you recommend, especially romance, I bought them all. And now, I have to have Beach Read & The Charm Offensive. Happy Valentine's Day Hannah ♥️
I read The Charm Offensive after hearing you talk about it and I'm so glad I did! I really struggle with finding romances I enjoy but recently decided to give the genre a more serious try, so I'm happy about this success.
I was smiling so big when you said you loved beach read🥺 I don't know why but I am really attached to this book there was something about it which touched me in ways I don't know how to explain
Unrelated but Hannah’s voice is so soothing, I immediately feel better when I hear her, she should definitely make a podcast doesn’t even matter what it’s about ✨
Happy Valentine's Day, Hannah! Excited to pick up the romances at the top ❤ I'm not a huge romance reader but I've been picking up more recently when I want a break from heavier reads. My absolute fave is Part of Your World! Also had fun with Lunar Love, Act Your Age, Eve Brown, and Nora Goes Off Script.
Alexis Hall, who wrote A Lady for a Duke has also written my absolutely favorite romance novel of all time, "Glitterland", which was recently published again after being out of print for some time, I believe. It deals with mental health beautifully too.
Thank you, you made my day! I have read "Charm offensive" and it is my all-time fav romance book ever, thank you so much for your recommendations. Happy Valentine's Day 💕
This video was exactly what I needed today, I'm so happy. It would be very intresting to see how you would rank romance heavy mangas and graphic novels too. And have you ever thought about making a tier list about bookish love interests, from the ones you love the most to the absolute red flags?
I got The Charm Offensive because of Hannah and while my reading selection of romance books is far smaller, I think I've read just five or so, it's by far my favorite too. A masterpiece really.
i adore your videos!! You're honestly such a ray of light and your videos give me such comfort! Studying abroad and dealing with a lot of anxiety and depression, your videos have given me such warmth!
i've literally been spending this valentine's day just watching a bunch of these romance/love themed booktube videos people have been putting out today and honestly? it's been a serve
I also loved The Beautiful Ones! I think the consistent strength of Silvia Moreno Garcia across all her books is the way she can deliver nuanced characters and encapsulate them fully with a few sentences in her sparse writing style. I loved the funky bug heiress!! SO MUCH!!
Just saw Jack Edwards video were he had It Ends With Us in his love stories in literature tier ranking, I was disgusted and then I come here and see Hannah saying she doesn't see coho books as romance and will not promote them as such.. I love you so much Hannah.
This brought a smile to my face!! I know exactly what you mean about Beach read, it just has something extra and I love that book so very much:) Definitely checking out charm offensive now!! Have a great valentines day Hannah
yay i'm so happy beach read is your fav emily henry too!! it hit so hard for me.. also reading the charm offensive for valentine's day and loving it. hopefully one day it'll be my turn too 🥲
i am SO GLAD you ranked beach read above the other two emily henry books. i LOVED beach read, and i swear nobody else thinks it's better than book lovers
When you dropped the CoHo book in the bottom tier and stared at it and it stared at you Hannah, I'm watching this eating supper and almost spat out my soup 😂 I love you so much hahaha 💗
your makeup looks so stunning! ✨✨also I feel called out about spending every valentine's day alone lol. but i'm happy to have a new video instead!❤❤❤🌻🌻🌻
I was also shocked how i loved beach read. I didn't know much about the book. I looked at its title and cover art i was expecting a different read like it's more a fluffy story. But reading into proved me wrong. Also just wanted to say your makeup and outfit is so pretty!
I am a TJR fab I love all of her books and I’m not ashamed to say it 😂 I’m currently reading the happy ever after playlist and really enjoying it! Seven Days In June is one of my faves too. I loved the representation of someone who struggled with migraines too!
Beach Read is also my favorite Emily Henry book! But as a Michigander who grew up on Lake Superior I was SO CONFUSED about your lake opinion because I've been to the ocean too and thought the beaches have similar vibes. But once I realized you were probably thinking of some small backyard lake that makes more sense 😂 not the same at all loll
Ahhhh I absolutely loved Beach Read!!! It was the first romance book I ever read and it had me giggling and kicking my feet :’) Love your videos, Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
Unseasoned lake had me 😂😂😂😂 i agree though, I’m from a beach/coastal town and I also need a salted body of water. Beach read is my fav also of the trio.
I saw the insta post and thought OMG but now I get to see a whole video with the beautiful makeup and gorgeous dress 😍😍😍 I recommend The heart principle, it’s kind of heavy emotionally, but still I loved it soo much !
I only read Beach Read and RWRB on this list and both were 5 stars! Beach Read and RWRB made an impact on me and especially with RWRB, I connected with the characters SO MUCH!! :)
i’m from Michigan, and i didn’t know that Beach Read takes place there! that just made me so much more excited to read it. and if you visit Lake Michigan, you’d be surprised by how beautiful the beaches are! i love the ocean, but going to Saugatuck for a quick getaway in the summer is the best! 🌊💕
I checked out The Charm Offensive from my library after seeing your glowing review and almost immediately bought my own copy once I finished it. Such an unbelievably sweet, tender, and (best of all) well-written story with some much-appreciated ace representation; thank you for recommending it. ❤
this is a great valentines day gift, and thanks for more recommendations :) i read the harm offensive after i watched your other video, and it melted my heart. thank you
I really loved this video and u were looking so pretty❤ Charm offensive was also one of my fav books of 2022 and I still think about Dev and Charlie every now and then. Thanks a lot for the video Hannah and hope u have a lovely Valentine’s Day!
When I think romance, the books that come to mind are Persuasion (my all-time favorite), Pride & Prejudice, Cold Mountain, and The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
I just read The Charm Offensive because you told me and and damn, I'll never be okay again. I just found my favourite book. I listened to the audiobook of it and couldn't stop until it was done. Almost pulled an all-nighter because of it. Thank you
I actually feel like the whole cover/title for beach read is so ironic! Like it’s not at all what I would consider a light and fun beach read? It’s a lot heavier in tone (even though I still find it hilarious and sweet) but I always thought the way it was marketed was so….not true to the book itself lmao. BUT it is also my favorite of EH’s works and I’m so glad you loved it 🥹
I cannot believe I almost dropped Beach Read. Literally almost chucked it. I felt way too triggered and uncomfty discovering her questions about her Dad and her shock and life being flipped upside mirrored my own very deeply….. too similarly. However as I picked it back up and kept going I was so touched how we were led through these inner questions and battles - it was extremely healing in a weird way. I loved it so much. And ALSO the romance was 100🙌🏼
Thank u for this ranking babe. I saw jack Edwards' similar video yesterday and he put pride and prejudice right next to reminders of him and I wanted to scream. I don't consider myself an elitist when it comes to literature in general but that was objectively wrong. This ranking gave me hope again
Happy Valentine’s day, Hannah! Thank you for uploading today. I thought you might include to all the boys trilogy here. I was curious to see where you'd rank it given your most recent reads.
I’m so glad you love Beach Read! I was able to read it within the year it came out and it has set my romance bar so high!! Emily Henry is just so so good.
you NEED to read happy place now if you haven’t already. i just finished it and OMG. i rank the emily henry books in a similarly fashion as you but happy place it like a 5.5 for me. it is AMAZING.
Fellow michigander here, beaches on the ocean and beaches for a lake are the same thing, but I understand if you haven’t grown up around lakes that it would seem odd
Completely unrelated but Hannah you look so beautiful and I'm in love with the nails, dress and the makeup. I adore your reccomendations and taste especially in romance books (only thing im against im this video is Beach Read, i literally hated that book so much but other than that i agree with everything else ) 🦋😭
I highly recommend the author Adiba Jaigirdar! She writes sapphic romance novels 😊 my favorite from her is Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating :) Thank you for making this video! Really put a smile to my face 😊
so happy to spend valentines with you :) loved this video. please take into consideration making more manga or kdrama related vids, i'd like to know what mangas or animes or kdramas you've enjoyed lately
i completely agree with your emily henry book rankings, beach read is by far the stand out of the 3. now i'm off to find a copy of the charm offensive because i have yet to be wronged by one of your book recommendations 💖
okay okay y’all have convinced me to visit lake michigan!! i will visit one day and report back here to confirm that it’s not like other lake beaches lolll
Haha! I am from Michigan and wondered if you've ever visited. It's so beautiful, and honestly, when you are sitting on the beach of Lake Michigan it has a similar gravitas as the ocean. "No salt, no sharks, no worries," as Michiganders like to say. But that is just my very biased opinion;)
don't do it. your first opinion was correct. idk about the other sides, but the Illinois side of it is absolute shit-
@@skyofbob I think they're referring more to the Michigan side, and as a Michigander I can say that the beaches are actually really beautiful.
@@skyofbob The Michigan side is much more "ocean" like than the Illinois side.
Okok so VERY unrelated but I was curious what your mbti is, imo it might be INFP 😄
"I don't consider Collen Hoover's books romance books. I'm not gonna promote them as romance book." period girl. Say it again
Say it louder!, they should change it for horror books, just the thought of romanticize abusive relationships is terrifying to me 😭
your pfp ❤️
When I saw a Hoover book I knew right away where it belongs 😂 I've never read a Hoover book and I'll never read one ever cause i trust your and some of other people when they says there's a reason why they all are disaster
Tbh, I personally have never heard anyone mention her books as romance books but more about what romance is not. I mean anyone who recommended me her books told me that they are based on but more like what love is not.
She should just tweak the language a bit then call them psychological thrillers 😑
I may have just clicked this video but I already know two things: The Charm Offensive on top and The Spanish Love Deception at the bottom 😂😂
you know me so well 🥲💖🫶🏼
I haven't read the Spanish love deception but I kept it on my list because it was recommended in some videos. Could you tell why it was kept in jail?
Who needs a valentine when you can have a new video from Hannah
Seeing "the spanish love deception" and "Reminders of him" in the last tier solidified my trust in Hannah.
I am not even a fan of romance but Sarah Hogle's "You Deserve Each Other" was such a beautiful and laugh out loud funny book. It deserves SO much hype. Most romance novels tend to have characters that seem to be stereotypes and caricatures. This was so refreshing to read because the tropes did not feel superimposed. love this book (:
Yessss she's literally my comfort author, I love her books so goddamn much 😭🙏💖
One of my favorite books, im not a fan of the second chance trope, but i love that in this book they work on their relationship and learn to trust in each other.
Same here! I’m not a huge romance reader but a friend recommended You Deserve Each Other and I really liked it. 😊
Omggg i love this book so much😭❤️
Are we not going to talk about "it has to be a salted body of water, not an unseasoned lake" 😂😂
In defence of Lake Michigan, the Great Lakes are just unsalted oceans. They’re so big you can’t see the other side and they’re sandy bottomed. They even have small tides! They’re not like a backwater pond that people call lakes in the rest of the world 😂
Lake Michigan also has huge Sand Dunes! Check out Indiana Dunes National Park, Hannah.
Your makeup is absolutely lovely in this! Happy Valentine's day, Hannah, and everyone else watching this today
I totally agree with your Emily Henry ratings! I remember hearing that Emily Henry said she wrote beach read for herself specifically so that explains the amount of heart and vulnerability she poured into it which is why it’s so appealing imo ❤ also as a fellow Californian, I very much agree with your “beach” term criticism lol
that makes PERFECT sense because you can feel that the book was personal. ahh it was so lovely 💕
being aromantic, spending valentine's alone is the best way to spend it 😌
With Beach Read being one of my favourite books of ALL TIME, I was so anxious waiting to hear/see where you put it 😮💨😂 just staring at it the whole video was TORTURE, Hannah HOW COULD YOU TAUNT ME LIKE THIS 😂😭❤️
I had to fast forward to beach read first because I was so nervous she wasn’t going to like it 🥲
SAME omg
I absolutely LOVE Beach read too! For me, personally, it is leagues ahead of Book Lovers. Finally someone who agrees with its superiority!
As a single woman in her 30s this video is a comfort watch for me. Watching it in my blanket with late night snacks (kababs and dahi baray). Thanks for the laughs and the recommendations.
Kababs and dahi baray are yummmm!!!!!
I have been single every single Valentine’s Day. However, I have two bottles of wine, Barbie movie collection, and my blind date with a book. So it’s prefect.
honestly ideal 💕
as someone in a relationship, that sounds like the perfect day haha

Yes! Another Chicagoan here! Completely agree. Love my Chicago beaches. Especially in the summer!
Exactly! Her judgement of the great lakes beaches was disappointing.
There is just a big smile again on my face when there's a notification from your channel:))
Thanks Hannah!!♡

i hope you love them!! 💕
You won’t regret it they’re both amazing 😍
We desperately need an anime recommendation video from Hannah cuz I loved every single one she mentioned randomly in her videos
I read The Charm Offensive after hearing you talk about it and I'm so glad I did! I really struggle with finding romances I enjoy but recently decided to give the genre a more serious try, so I'm happy about this success.
I was smiling so big when you said you loved beach read🥺
I don't know why but I am really attached to this book there was something about it which touched me in ways I don't know how to explain
it’s the -alone, that got me. this video is the best (and only) valentine’s gift i’ve ever received
Unrelated but Hannah’s voice is so soothing, I immediately feel better when I hear her, she should definitely make a podcast doesn’t even matter what it’s about ✨
I read the Charm Offensive because you loved and recommended it, and I’m so glad I did ❤️❤️literally one of the best books I’ve read PERIOD!
U can never feel alone on Valentines when u have BTS and Hannah is ur subscriptions list😌
Thankyou 🥺💜
I'm having a sad day Hannah and this video made me feel right at home, better than I have felt this whole day. Thank you for uploading.
Happy Valentine's Day, Hannah! Excited to pick up the romances at the top ❤

Jack Edwards content are made to kiss the CoHoes' asses
But it is sold and marketed as contemporary romance maybe that's why he put it in romance category.
This brought a smile to my face!! I know exactly what you mean about Beach read, it just has something extra and I love that book so very much:) Definitely checking out charm offensive now!! Have a great valentines day Hannah
love the editing when you ranked reminders of him😭
a lady for a duke is tied for my favorite book of all time, i wish more people talked about it! it’s so phenomenal
i’ve never clicked so fast
yay i'm so happy beach read is your fav emily henry too!! it hit so hard for me.. also reading the charm offensive for valentine's day and loving it. hopefully one day it'll be my turn too 🥲
Not much of a romance reader myself, but i LOVED Emily Henry's books 🥰
Loving the Valentine's Day look!
I was never a romance reader but Emily Henry definitely changed that for me. She is my favorite rom-com author.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your tier names, they make sooo much sense.
i am SO GLAD you ranked beach read above the other two emily henry books. i LOVED beach read, and i swear nobody else thinks it's better than book lovers

hannah uploads, and suddenly i'm the happiest
Beach read and The Charm offensive really deserve all the hype ❤️
I was also shocked how i loved beach read. I didn't know much about the book. I looked at its title and cover art i was expecting a different read like it's more a fluffy story. But reading into proved me wrong.
Also just wanted to say your makeup and outfit is so pretty!
as always, i'm so excited for this video!
I read Book Lovers per your recommendation and LOVED it. So now I can’t wait to read Beach Read too!
I am a TJR fab I love all of her books and I’m not ashamed to say it 😂 I’m currently reading the happy ever after playlist and really enjoying it! Seven Days In June is one of my faves too. I loved the representation of someone who struggled with migraines too!

Ahhhh I absolutely loved Beach Read!!! It was the first romance book I ever read and it had me giggling and kicking my feet :’)
Love your videos, Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
My bookclub’s read this month is “A Lady for a Duke” based on your recommendation! And I gotta say, I am loving it so far 💕 Thank you!
Love your makeup! Happy Valentines day Hannah ❤️❤️
hannah's tier ranking videos >>>
Heyyy Hannah, I adored your makeup! Happy Valentine’s Day 🫶🏻
Unseasoned lake had me 😂😂😂😂 i agree though, I’m from a beach/coastal town and I also need a salted body of water. Beach read is my fav also of the trio.
I saw the insta post and thought OMG but now I get to see a whole video with the beautiful makeup and gorgeous dress 😍😍😍
I recommend The heart principle, it’s kind of heavy emotionally, but still I loved it soo much !
I only read Beach Read and RWRB on this list and both were 5 stars! Beach Read and RWRB made an impact on me and especially with RWRB, I connected with the characters SO MUCH!! :)
Could you please do a similar tier ranking for thriller books!!
i’m from Michigan, and i didn’t know that Beach Read takes place there! that just made me so much more excited to read it. and if you visit Lake Michigan, you’d be surprised by how beautiful the beaches are! i love the ocean, but going to Saugatuck for a quick getaway in the summer is the best! 🌊💕
okay maybe i’ve gotta make a trip there then 👀💕
Thank you for always making my day Hannah 💗
as someone who’s favourite book is beach read IM SOOO HAPPY YOU LOVED BEACH READ i just had a hunch that you would love it!!!!!
I checked out The Charm Offensive from my library after seeing your glowing review and almost immediately bought my own copy once I finished it. Such an unbelievably sweet, tender, and (best of all) well-written story with some much-appreciated ace representation; thank you for recommending it. ❤
Yes!!! The charm offensive is so cuuuuute❤❤❤❤
this is a great valentines day gift, and thanks for more recommendations :) i read the harm offensive after i watched your other video, and it melted my heart. thank you

You look so pretty, this makeup is really good
When I think romance, the books that come to mind are Persuasion (my all-time favorite), Pride & Prejudice, Cold Mountain, and The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
I just read The Charm Offensive because you told me and and damn, I'll never be okay again. I just found my favourite book. I listened to the audiobook of it and couldn't stop until it was done. Almost pulled an all-nighter because of it. Thank you
ahh, happy Valentine’s Day 🫶🏽🫶🏽 so glad I have this video
happy valentine’s day 💖💖
That satisfactory smile after putting reminders of him in last tier ❤️❤️❤️
I actually feel like the whole cover/title for beach read is so ironic! Like it’s not at all what I would consider a light and fun beach read? It’s a lot heavier in tone (even though I still find it hilarious and sweet) but I always thought the way it was marketed was so….not true to the book itself lmao. BUT it is also my favorite of EH’s works and I’m so glad you loved it 🥹
you look so pretty hannah omg😭
I cannot believe I almost dropped Beach Read. Literally almost chucked it. I felt way too triggered and uncomfty discovering her questions about her Dad and her shock and life being flipped upside mirrored my own very deeply….. too similarly. However as I picked it back up and kept going I was so touched how we were led through these inner questions and battles - it was extremely healing in a weird way. I loved it so much. And ALSO the romance was 100🙌🏼
Happy Valentine's Day Hannah 💟💟💟
Your makeup, your hair, your outfit, you look so pretty
Watching this while making valentines treats 😊 sets the perfect mood, thank you!
I really like your videos. Your voice is sooo therapeutic 😊
Thank u for this ranking babe. I saw jack Edwards' similar video yesterday and he put pride and prejudice right next to reminders of him and I wanted to scream. I don't consider myself an elitist when it comes to literature in general but that was objectively wrong. This ranking gave me hope again
beach read!!!! in the top tier!!!!! EXACTLYYYY
I loooved beach read! Totally agree with you on the Emily Henry books. I’m gonna re read beach read for the 3rd time!
i started to read the charm offensive with your recommendation and i'm loving it so far!
Faking Christmas is probably my favorite romance book I’ve ever read, I adored it. If your looking for more romance books I totally recommend it!
Okay I have barely started the video but you look EXTRA cute today! Your makeup! Your hair! Your dress! (or top, not sure). ADORABLE!
Fellow michigander here, beaches on the ocean and beaches for a lake are the same thing, but I understand if you haven’t grown up around lakes that it would seem odd

Your tier titles are the best! Also knew you would love Beach Read ❤
I highly recommend the author Adiba Jaigirdar! She writes sapphic romance novels 😊 my favorite from her is Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating :)
