I don't know how I stumbled across this video this time of year, but I really recommend the chrismas market in Bad-Münster am Stein-Ebernburg. It's about an hour from Landstuhl. It's a small market but it has a really nice atmosphere, especially in the dark, as it takes place in a park and in the background is this rock called Rheingrafenstein that is illuminated in the dark. Unfortunately it's only open at weekends.
RUclips sent this video my way ... I am originally from Saarland, but now live in the UK! Love your video and all the tips and perspective from people who moved to the area! Love Luxembourg and Strasbourg, too, but didn't know about Meisenheim! : )
Hanau and Frankfurt are the ones I grew up with. We were stationed in Hanau from 72 to 81 and then my father retired there. Best years of my life. I started taking trains and buses alone at 14. It was so much fun growing up there.
Hi! You're welcome! A vignette is a small sticker you purchase when entering a new country usually by car. Think of it as a toll for using their country roads and highways. You can buy a daily or monthly vignette at a gas station or small office right before entering a new country (but not at all entry points).
The way she pronounced "Meisenheim" literally means "home of miserable people" 😂 Meise is actually German for "tit" - the bird, not the other thing...So it's "home of the tits" 😶
