Swimmings looking so good for someone teaching themselves! My top tip is try and keep your hips as high as possible - as close as you can get them to the surface, it might feel a bit tougher at first but it will help your rotation and ultimately keep your motion more fluid and fast paced. Also try not to pause as your finger tips enter, keep the whole motion fluid - the more you pause, the more you sink! If you can make your whole motion a bit faster, then try and breathe every 3 instead of every 2 - every time you breath, you lose time. Best of luck!
That’s a great FTP to build on. Keep grinding in the pool, it was hard for me at first and all of the sudden after a couple months I could swim the full Ironman length.
Hell yeah, man. Hope you're enjoying the struggle. If you find yourself in Ireland before October I'd be happy to put down some miles with you. Beir Bua.
I think Ironman & vanlife is the best combo ever😉 Currently I'm over 3 months in my solo vanlife in Spain and also training for IM. In winter it's too cold for outdoor training in my homecountry and vanlife gives me better opportunities. Tips for training: Get a swimming coach, even for a short period of time. It's better to learn good technique from the very beginning and not implement bad movements to your muscle memory. Training fees are much cheaper in southern Europe. And don't forget strength training!
Your swimming is sh1t, your bike handling is great, your ftp's not bad, totally fine for ironman, you can walk the run if your achilles is fncked. Look to survive the swim - sea? Could be hard if choppy - then get in a solid bike and allow 6 hrs for the run. 👍
Swimming is terrible I agree, I’ve been strengthening my Achilles hiking in the mountains so far I think I can run but it will soon become obvious when I ramp my training up shortly
@@WillemExplores get in the sea as soon as you can, its freakin hard for a crap swimmer, speaking from experience 😎 and no need to rush the running, you can cover 90% of run fitness on the bike
