Precisely. So happy to see Lucy get the win! Well deserved, and all the more meaningful considering what she had to overcome (physically and mentally) to get there.
I am a legacy athlete who competed this year and I saw Lucy on the way back when I was starting the bike. I screamed my lungs out cheering her even when I knew she probably could not hear me because of the aero helmet. I was honestly happy for her and just being racing in the same race it feel unreal. Congratulations Lucy you earned this win!
Lucy, I have followed you for more than 4 years in this sport - yes, I am a Ryf fan...but I studied your journey throughout...the 4 time 2nd place finishes, the frustrations with injuries and the numerous disappointments. I never cry but I almost very nearly came to tears for you when you crossed the finish line in first position! I know you don't need any one's approval, but know that I am very proud of what your represent. Your character and tenacity is something that is now driving me to achieve a lot more than I thought is possible!
I am crying with joy for you and gratitude that we WOMEN had such a great athlete paving the way with this race. Thank you for inspiring me and countless other women in sport x
I've never seen or heard of a more deserving world champion in any sport! The mental perseverance required to keep working and keep believing after all those heartbreaking second places is such an insane feat! You're such an inspiration to us all!

Cried like a baby watching you win Lucy. Watched every second of the race. I remember when you were on crutches saying to put every moment of frustration as a metaphorical penny into a jar to be drawn on later as motivation. It really feels like all that pain helped you on that run. Inner reserves that might not have been there without the setbacks. Everything seemed so difficult at that stage but from ‘biro in the eye-gate’ to ultimate fulfilment, glory and happiness. Utterly inspired by you and delighted for you. ❤🎉🎉 Ps the X factor is clearly the dogs (speaking as a dog lover haha)

Was lucky enough to be on course and watch all my favorite female athletes compete that day. Nobody was going to LCB on that day, she looked unstoppable. Congrats Lucy!
