Fyi, rosy boas are very chill, excellent for pets, and they’re slightly smaller than ball pythons..which are widely considered the “best” pet snakes. At least…among the most popular and most widely bred. Rosy boas are great…by comparison, sand boas hide a lot. But they’re chill, too. Maybe not as chill as a rosy. We had a rosy boa in my first grade class, in 1991-92, and it was such a joy to handle her. She was big too. We handled her daily and she was the best. Didn’t even mind being passed around a room of first graders. I do remember her masking on a girls arm though… but I am fairly sure it wasn’t a defensive thing, but just a loose bowel thing. 🤣 The most calm snake ever.

Just because python bites are so inconsequential due to their teeny tiny teeth. But dog jaws and teeth are stronger and bigger. But we don’t fear dogs en mass because we are familiar with their behaviors. It’s just unfamiliarity with reptile behavior patterns and a lack of understanding of their actual abilities which causes fear.

Jason's improvements over snakes is actually quite touching. I've been educating myself about snakes for a few years now, and Snake Discovery popped up in my youtube recommendations one time, and that was it. I was raised in a family where my mother is afraid of snakes, and while she didn't impose her fear onto me or my siblings, I wanted to further educate myself on snakes because I think they're a fascinating species. I also follow Chandler's Wildlife who specialises in working with venomous snakes, so learning about the venomous and non-venomous snakes has been really interesting. So glad to be here this morning for the First time y'all! Love snakes, and y'all just made my day. I was feeling a little bit down, but y'all made me laugh and forget about any and Everything! Thank y'all So much. Love Anacondas and mainly snakes...We need them in our wild life. They keep the rodent population down....If we just give them there space and respect their privacy, then we wouldn't have any problems at all. I am a testament to that. The very first encounter was with a water moccasin. I was about 7 or 8 years old, and I was about less than a foot away from one. It was curled under our cement porch near the back door. I was making mud pies, and not really paying any attention, until I happen to look at the little crack under the porch. There it was, curled up and looked like it was resting, not moving at all. So I got up, went to the back door, knocked and my oldest sister came and asked what did I want. I told her and she stated I was not telling the truth. I told her where to look and that I was telling the truth. She came out, looked, then went to scream for momma and stated that it was a water moccasin. Momma instantly told her to stand guard and wait for Mr. Duran the Maintenance Man who worked for the Apts. He came with a rod, what looked to be about 4 ft long. He reached under the porch, and the snake came out. They killed it. I was So sad. I asked why, and momma said it was venomous and if it bit me, I'd be in the hospital. I told her, it was sleeping and wasn't bothering me at all. I told her what I was doing and how close I was. It didn't matter to her. She was thankful I wasn't hurt. I am now 57 years old. I am still bothered by that day and time in my life. For some reason, I felt bad for the snake. People don't realize, if it wasn't for snakes, the rodent population would be astronomical, and we would have So many more diseases than we already do. The Bubonic Plague, Rabies, and other diseases that come from wild rats. This is the main reason why I love, well like them a lot. We need them for that simple and main reason. Most bites are from Not paying attention to where people step, disturbing there nesting(especially the female), and not handling them correctly. We have to do better. Explain and teach our children about them(education). Teach them that respect and distance will also keep from getting bit. This is and has Always been my opinion. The most important is Education! Hope you and Everyone have a Safe Blessed and Wonderful day. Thank you again for making my day ♥️😂😊😂♥️🐍♥️😂😊😂♥️
