My first scotch was Laphroaig 10 yr. making me a confirmed peat-head. Love that briny, fetid taste, just like the salt water marshes surrounding my childhood home in Massachusetts. The 25 year sounds like a dream to me. Slainte, Gentlemen!
In my opinion whiskey really isn’t a product to collect for monetary gain. It does a disservice to the product which is meant to enjoy with friends and family or special occasions. The distillers didn’t intend there creations to be left on shelves getting dusty. I have bottles in my bar that are very sought after and are worth many thousands of dollars if they were unopened. But i can tell you i have had more enjoyment from opening them up with good friends and family on special occasions with the memories that came from it than any money i could have got from selling them. Hope this helps. Cheers 🥃
I'd love to be able to afford a well aged islay but alas I'll have to limit myself to a treat on a ledaig 18 for an aged peat hit (planned treat for my birthday next month) mind the Glen scotia 18 is also great with light peat and the cambletown funk in the background. Nice review gents and enjoy that special dram.
A very long time years. In my opinion. I have many in fact most of my bottles are opened. If you keep them away from sunlight and at a fairly consistent temp 68 or so they will last. And they wont go bad they just oxidize and loose some of the character they once had. I try to Finnish my bottle off once they get down to 1/4 or so, because they will oxidize much faster. I also use a inert gas called wine preserver in my more expensive bottles. It lays a blanket over the whiskey that keeps the oxygen from touching it. Hope this info helps. Cheers 🥃
I think you referring to me. Joe. I do hold it and roll it around. I tend to take a first sip to prep my palette, then my second one is rolled around even longer . Thanks for watching. Cheers 🥃
Omg no way ......I love you guys it's so good seeing you here and not somewhere else. My names Robert and I'm in CDA I'm a huge scotch and bourbon collector...it's so good seeing 2 people out of Idaho doing reviews . How do I get other Scotchs that I can't find in the Idaho liquor stores it's all the same

Thanks Sam! Glad you enjoyed the review. Thanks for watching. Cheers 🥃
Very cool! I need to get a better paying job so I can afford an occasional bottle like this. Lol
is this the 2019 edition?
I think its a 21 but it could be. A 19. They sit in our stores for a while due to the cost. I’ll ask josh and find out.
Based on the abv they stated, I'd guess '16 or '17, which are far superior to the 25's released since.
How long can bourbon be opend for till goes bad

I'm not watching because of how you pronounce islay, lol, jk guys. Great review cheers and congrats on the showcase bottle Josh you picked a good one.
Lol, ya just can’t please everyone. 🤣 Thanks for watching. Cheers 🥃
Islay is pronounced eye-luh. Not eye-lay
How come guy on the left doesnt hold it in his mouth at all. Straight down on sip. Your losing out on experience mate.

P.s. can we trade dads? Mine recently handed me ten dollars because he forgot my birthday and told me not to spend it all at once.😆
I think josh will keep his dad. Bobs a awesome dude. Lol , Cheers 🥃
