Everything Tim & Jill are doing is fair, they should also have a right to take away stereo, music, computer, and video game privileges from Brad. But are they going to take away soda, cookie, cake, ice-cream, any other junk food privileges away from Brad while he's being grounded. It's already enough punishment to take away things that you don't need in order to take responsibility to do homework (maybe just demote to the typewriter), chores, exercise only at home, or work a job; but why take away soda, sweets, and junk food if you have to meet deadlines on responsibilities and you've already been punished on everything else which doesn't have to impair on doing things you have to do during your everyday life? For me, since I've sacrificed smoking, drugs, and alcohol on a regular basis, I feel like I could meet the deadline flawlessly if I have soda, sweets, potatoes of some sort, sleep, and dwell on the past so I can learn from my mistakes in the future.
That last bit with Randy and Mark was brilliant writing.
