How does Warzone look and run now on this monitor now since they have removed support for the HD Texture packs?! They now require you to stream HD Textures in game! Also do you know the difference between this model and the LG 32GP83B?
For console there is no difference. I haven't tested warzone on console since this change...I don't think. I did have issues with the HD texture packs in 1440p, so maybe their update includes streaming for 1440p.
I think this kind of monitors are for competitive players. If you wanna enjoy a good story game I definitely recommend a 4K 40+” TV. This are my thoughts.
A non HDMI 2.1 tv with 120hz that is also 4k would do that. In fact so would a monitor that is HDMI 2.0 like the GN950 would do that. But the price is pretty much the same for the HDMI 2.1 GP950. @@bencezje_9473 2.0 is fine for 1440p. 1440p doesn’t need the same bandwidth that a 4k HDR signal needs. Also- series X usually upscales a lower signal to a faux/upscaled 4k 120fps anyway, so using a 1440p monitor is typically closer to the ‘real’ native resolution the game is using at 120fps anyway- which is more efficient/ a better practice anyway :) Basically- the optimum way to play competitive FPS games on a series X is 1440p 120hz- and a 2.0 HDMI will handle this just fine
Hey thanks for the input. I have tested this monitor at a deeper length on the full video on PC. You may get a better sense of the potential of this monitor all around on that video. Also i want to see if the price difference for features like HDR and 4k upscaling and if it’s even possible on both monitors and which one does it better? Thanks in advance if you can get it done! Awesome content

I have a question. Have you set hdmi override setting in series x instead of auto detect? On my Dell 2721dgf I can get 1440p at 120 when set to auto detect. But there is terrible input lag. When using hdmi override the input lag is gone and is very responsive but I am limited to 1080p@120 or 1440p@60. I have decided to return this monitor and look for a monitor that can support 1440@120 with HDMI override setting on series x. Does the gp850/GP83B support 1440@120 with HDMI override setting? Please confirm. Also let me know if there is any other suitable monitor for the series x
I always use auto detect. The manual setting should work for any monitor that is capable of 1440 120hz. It is just reading the HDMI of the display at that point. To answer your question. The gp series of monitors allow auto and manual on the Xbox settings.
Ciao! Hi there quick question Techcessory Does the 4K 60 image improve a lot compared to the 1440p 120 image Or do you think it would be better to have one 4K 60 monitor and a separate 1440p 144 monitor thanks
If your gaming on a gaming monitor 28 inches or less 1440p and 4k really ain't that different the pixel density on a screen these sizes are amazing with 1440p and 120hrz
So 4K improves the series x by a fairly good margin. But only if you are using an HDMI 2.1 monitor that is 4k. Otherwise I would argue that 1440p 120hz is much much better. This monitor still allows a 4k HDR 60hz signal to be send from the Xbox, and it looks really good when you do that. I think it's HDMI 2.1 or bust tbh.
I mean...that's a long question to answer. They are in two different categories of monitor. I think the best question to ask yourself is what is the graphics card/system you are using, and can it handle 4k or 1440p @ 144hz. If you can answer that question, then the other monitor may become irrelevant. Hope that helps.
Of course. It is a more powerful console. But the monitor outperforms the consoles capabilities in 1440p. It would look much better on something like an RTX 4080 you know.
I purchased the LG 27GN800-B Ultra Gear Gaming monitor, but it doesn't have speakers. I am using it with my Xbox Series X. Please let me know which speakers I can purchase so that I may have sound and how to install them. Thank you!
For sure. That is a bummer. Definitely subscribe if you have not, I give advice to every comment that I can. I post new videos every week. That being said, you would need either a soundbar that does HDMI switching and is a minimum of HDMI 2.0 (HDMI 2.1 preferred), or a wireless headset that connects to the Xbox. This is more of a limitation of the Xbox than the monitor, but both nonetheless.
@@nathanbradley2882 hey I just go the monitor when I don’t feel like using my headset all I gotta do is get a sound bar and connect it straight to my monitor?
I always keep HDR off, unless I am just testing. But still. There are some good tV's for HDR, but I am not sure the XSX can really drive them like they need to be.
I have the lg gl850 and I’m very happy with the color and everything, but it can’t do 1440p 120fps vrr with the series x like this model can. Should I return and get this instead?

I have the option to use 1440p 120hz but everytime i enable it, screen goes black for a few seconds and then resets to 60hz. 1080p 120 works fine. I have no Idea, last thing i could change is the hdmi cable idk
PS5 does not support 1440p, so my lg 27 gp83b-b just shows 4k 60 Hz if not selected on 1080p. And I play COD only on pc, so liking the feature that even my 1440p monitor is giving me 4k support, lol.
I just ordered the lg gp83b-b as well for my pc but I also wanted to play my ps5 on it. Do ps5 games still look good? I’m coming from a 4K 60hz monitor
That is a decent difference between the two. I will say that I had both monitors and used them extensively. There is a noticeable difference. I would 100% buy the GP83 for the better motion and updated menus/features. But that is a substantial difference, so I understand why the GN850 looks appealing.
@@BainCustom yeah I could save the 100 euros and upgrade to 4k in a couple years. I feel like by then I can get a good 4k 144hz monitor for around 500 or 600.
Why does this monitor look too grey and have no color for me? On PC the colors and picture look amazing but on xbox and ps5, the picture looks dark and has not much color.
I think you just answered it. You like PC better than console. But it could be the HDMI calibration you have. HDMI might be setup differently than DP. Also make sure the consoles are setup for the proper color, usually the monitor is handcuffed/bottlenecked by the console.
Hey bro! Could you help me out a little please? I recently received this today and I was so excited! I did everything super slow and carefully as I didn’t wanna damage the screen or anything but when I put the power on it made the noise it does but no logo comes up just a Screen with a slight tint to it? It could have been damaged in shipping or could have blown something on power up due to a faulty finished product. I would swap it out as soon as you can so you don't have to worry about it.
For PC Gaming? Probably the G7, but if it were console and PC I would choose the GP850 for the added console support and updated menus/features for console. You can't go wrong either way though.

Everyone's got different opinions about what settings to use, on the monitor I'm on gamer 1 (haven't messed with anything else) now on the xbox I'm running 1440p, YCC, VRR, and 10-bit... 4k and Auto HDR is turned off, shall I also turn off allow HDR10? Any other advice would be appreciated, I just want a good solid setup for all my games, thank you.
If Auto HDR is off, it will only turn off Xbox's fake HDR in titles that don't actually offer HDR. HDR10 should also turn it off on games that do natively offer it. But you will want it on if you are watching any movies in HDR. Although I find HDR is unnecessary even for movies. So yes my opinion would be to turn it off.
HDR less than 600nits? Turn it off! 1000 nits is true HDR territory. Also set colour to 8 bit. Series X limited to 40gb bandwidth. At 8 bit you get 4,4,4 at 10 bit you get 4,2,0.
There have been a few complaints. This model is better than other LG monitors from last year's though. Bummer though, Gigabyte is really doing good things lately though so I can see why you like their monitors a bit better.

Hey, a good TV for story based gameplay is always a good choice!
I ordered the lg UltraGear 27GN800- B for my Xbox series X, was wondering if this monitor would be any different from what i ordered?
I just ordered this one too yesterday let me know how it works and if u do any specific things to it.
Well is there a monitor available which does 4k 60 and 1080p 120. I don't know much about monitors so if it's a stupid question you can pass
A non HDMI 2.1 tv with 120hz that is also 4k would do that. In fact so would a monitor that is HDMI 2.0 like the GN950 would do that. But the price is pretty much the same for the HDMI 2.1 GP950. I like your question, but the reality these days is that you pay a price either way you go. I did a video on the Gigabyte m28u, you might like that video too.
Is this monitor really that bright and colorless?
Thanks for doing this video, was great to see how the xbox paired with this monitor. Awesome work mate

Hi there, what is the limitation by using hdmi2.0 and Xbox Series x? 1440p + hdr + 60hz + 10bit or is 1440p + hdr + 120hz + 10bit possible?
Any News ?
I play on 1440p, 120hz, 10bit
I have this monitor in 32”, it puts my Sammy G5 to shame. here are my MW3 series X settings-

Monitor side- gamer mode 1, freesync extended, response- fast, gamma 2, black stabilizer 30, color temp normal/medium, brightness 90, contrast 70, sharpness 60,
hey! everybody mentioning that you need to have HDMI2.1 on your monitor to have 1440p 120hz with series x. But the spec. of this monitor says its HDMI2.0
But according to you there is no issue to run MW3 or newest Warzone on 1440p 120Hz with LG 27GP850-B.
Can you confirm that? :D
Thanks!!!
@@bencezje_9473 2.0 is fine for 1440p. 1440p doesn’t need the same bandwidth that a 4k HDR signal needs. Also- series X usually upscales a lower signal to a faux/upscaled 4k 120fps anyway, so using a 1440p monitor is typically closer to the ‘real’ native resolution the game is using at 120fps anyway- which is more efficient/ a better practice anyway :)
Basically- the optimum way to play competitive FPS games on a series X is 1440p 120hz- and a 2.0 HDMI will handle this just fine
27gp850 or 27gp83?? I own a 27gn850 but it have some issues and i don want it anymore. Looking for these models but wich is better for xbox?
GP models are updated to support console. That includes a more seamless connection/setup and VRR.
A lot of these complaints seem like technical limitations of Warzone and not the monitor itself. Maybe if you tried it on literally any other game
Hey thanks for the input. I have tested this monitor at a deeper length on the full video on PC. You may get a better sense of the potential of this monitor all around on that video. But you are right, the xbox...and warzone have limitations that really bottleneck this monitor. Regardless of the game, it is a better monitor than the xbox can really take advantage of.
In my opinion the graphic is much better on the one x in WZ2.0 and in Cold War. The Series s is faster and you get a higher framerate, but in 1440p it doesnt look as Good as the one x.
Which monitor do you prefer for xbox series x? The M28U or this LG?
I prefer the M28U because it is hdmi 2.1 and meant for the xbox series x. 1440p is an add on feature.
Bonjour les mode de jeux predefinis fps rts sont il bon sortie d usine ? Merci de tes video tres interessante
Sorry for the late reply, I would say that they are definitely a worthwhile setting and good out of the box. A good calibration is better than the pre-sets though.

There a good number of monitors that will. Check out this playlist ruclips.net/p/PL3_GjWZgNx1jFLULA3vWfPlj1A2Mj8EKK
It will showcase the monitors I have tested on console.
What does this monitor cap at? Is it 120fps with adaptive sync via HDMI 2.0 at 1440p?
For XSX? Yes that would be the cap of the xbox, not the monitor.
This setting it’s for play warzone, in 1440 or 1080?
1440p 120hz
Can you do a comparison between the GP83b-b vs GP850 in terms of features, price, and gaming on xbox/pc. Plus fidelity and frames that would be very helpful looking at these 2 monitors now based on your reviews!
Also i want to see if the price difference for features like HDR and 4k upscaling and if it’s even possible on both monitors and which one does it better? Thanks in advance if you can get it done! Awesome content
I will absolutely add it to my upcoming video list. I did want to do a full comparison, but I had ended up getting rid of the GP83. Keep an eye out, there is a strong possibility I will be making this video.
@@BainCustom rent one out 😂 i will be eagerly waiting for that vid. Thanks
Do you have an update on this for Warzone 2? Is it better?
The gp series of monitors allow auto and manual on the Xbox settings.
why it looks washed out ?
did you matched the black levels on the monitor with the xbox ?
What part looks washed out? The monitor is calibrated yes.
it looks so bright on call of duty
is that cause it has a bad contrast ?
How did u get HDR option to come on,just one tonight for xbox x.
Excuse me, can I use speaker for this monitor because it's not built in. Thank you.
Do you recommend buying this monitor in 2022?
Absolutely. Technically it is part of LG's 2021-22 lineup so it is still one of their flagship monitors.
The lg 27gp83b is actually only 340 dollars right now!!!
Dang! Yeah that's a deal and a half. It's still one of my favorite 1440p monitors, that and the Gigabyte M32Q or M27Q! Thanks for the input 👊

Cosa mi consigliate di attivare in questo caso???
Hi i have a 1440p monitor and seriss x... Should allow 4k the only thing disabled thanks in advance
Does this support 1440p 120hz over hdmi
is hdr working on 1080p 120hz without allow 4k? otherwise I have to buy a monitor with hdmi 2.1 :(
Did you calibrate it ?
Hi there quick question Techcessory
Does the 4K 60 image improve a lot compared to the 1440p 120 image
Or do you think it would be better to have one 4K 60 monitor and a separate 1440p 144 monitor thanks
@@TMG84 thanks Tim
@@BainCustom thanks Tech
How can you even ask something like that 120 is a lot better than 60 doesn't matter what resolution you are using, more fps better gaming
Hello! I bought the lg 27gp850 monitor after the ps5 update and it doesn't show me the 1440p. Do you know why??
From what I understand, the PS5 only supports certain monitors in 1440p and certain games. Not sure this one made the cut.
Hi sir I have an x box series s and am planning to buy a monitor so how much hz should it have like any recommendations as my friends say 60hz
120
The difference from gp850 and gp950 is only the 4k display on gp950?
I mean...that's a long question to answer. They are in two different categories of monitor. I think the best question to ask yourself is what is the graphics card/system you are using, and can it handle 4k or 1440p @ 144hz. If you can answer that question, then the other monitor may become irrelevant. Hope that helps.
@@BainCustom I have series x
We’re the graphics a lot better on the series x than the series s on that monitor?
Of course. It is a more powerful console. But the monitor outperforms the consoles capabilities in 1440p. It would look much better on something like an RTX 4080 you know.
@@BainCustom ok perfect! Thanks for the reply. Greatly appreciated
Question I have the same thing, how can you put 1440p 120fps
Turn off the allow 4K feature on the xbox.
I just have a soundbar connected with the audio jack directly into the monitor.

You have the opportunity to return the GL then yes. At least that's what I would do.
I cant get my series x to work, i unchecked allow 4k, used only 8 bit colour and turned adaptive refresh rate off on the monitor.
1080p HDR isn't bad for 120hz. I was actually impressed at how good this looked on this monitor.
I just ordered the lg gp83b-b as well for my pc but I also wanted to play my ps5 on it. Do ps5 games still look good? I’m coming from a 4K 60hz monitor
@@nazizombies5132 I would PS5 would be similar to the series x. I tested 4k 60hz on this guy from the series x and it was solid.

What game are you playing?
LG GP83B is €400 in my country and LG GN850-B is €300. Is the newer GP83B worth the €100 difference?

It could have been damaged in shipping or could have blown something on power up due to a faulty finished product. I would swap it out as soon as you can so you don't have to worry about it.

Not on xbox, they have not supported that for some time. Some games do offer hd texture packs and xbox technically uses "atuo-hdr" but none of that is enough. It only really makes a difference in specific games. Most support good color on 1440p.

Is FreeSync turned on in the monitor settings?
I'm late to the scene so probably a long shot if anyone could help me, I've just bought the LG 32gp850-b for my xbox series x.
At 8 bit you get 4,4,4
at 10 bit you get 4,2,0.
Is this the LG gp850 “B”?

Your camera made this setup look extremely bad
To much talking I hope you did more slow settings walk through
It’s hazy because your black level is on high
I promise that is not the reason. It has to do with HD texture packs and 1440p not supporting them.
Does this monitor output 4k 60hz?
It will not. But it will receive a 4K 60hz signal from the Xbox or PS5 and then it will downscale to 1440p on its own. I imagine that is what you were looking to make happen?
