This qualifying format is much better than the current one. The current one only lets you see the drivers going down the start/finish straight to end their lap. Yes you usually won't know who is on pole till the last minute, but your eyes are more focused on the timing tower rather than the cars. Here, you can see full laps of the drivers in qualifying trim.
@@azapro911 so they did their 12 laps in just 15 minutes with changing their tires, set-up changes and add full for their 4 quali-stints. Don't exaggerate so much! How old are you? Did you ever watch the qualifying sessions yourself back then? Obviously not! None of the big teams went out for the first 20 minutes and then they did. Otherwise you couldn't manage 1 outlap, 1 qualifying lap and an in-lap 4 times (4×3 laps = 12 laps). What's more, with optimization of the set-up and thanks for the 3 laps each time! And as I said, back then you could see the drivers' complete laps, whereas today you see almost nothing except the drive across the finish line. I'd rather not see any cars for the first 20 minutes and then see 40 minutes of FULL laps of the drivers instead of just the finish.
@@fam.hunger5244Yeah, I did and that's how it got, with the top teams not even bothering to do twelve laps, sometimes barely half of that. It's why the format got changed, to ensure there'd be no long gaps in the action.
F1 was so wonderfull that times. Brutal engine sounds, beautifull cars, great liveries, tabaco sponsorship... etc, etc

But there a problem, huge problem. Electronic driver aids, active suspension, anti-lock brakes, traction control, launch control gone, because that season are banned
You don't have to be 60 to have lived through that era, you just have to have been born before 1987 so that we can long hype the fact that Formula 1 in the 70s had a huge memory of solidarity. between the drivers and even during the 1980s because in 1981 on the occasion of the Belgian Grand Prix on the Zolder circuit a year just before the tragic death of Villeneuve the drivers showed their solidarity with the mechanics when Carlos' car Reuthmann mowed down Giovanni Amadeo, a 22-year-old mechanic.
Thank you for uploading this wonderful timelap Today I won‘t see Formula One it has no character it‘s only wasting time DTM was good too with Alfa 155 DTM Nannini, Larini, Modena and so on
Ayrton would have achieved pole and victory. His seventh victory in Monaco. After 30 years his record of 6 victories still stands. Schumacher would not have achieved pole with Senna
McLaren Peugeot. I remember they made some strong engines at one point but they also exploded a lot. Gave that Frenchman his only win? The one that broke both his legs…Panis!
1994 was the first full season of F1 I watched. In my opinion, I think F1 started to drop off in quality in about 2006. The hybrid era is the worst era in its history.
Mine was 1996. I became really interested because of MSc, and when he moved to Ferrari, I had to follow. The controversies helped a lot too. 😊 Yeah, I hardly remember anything from 2010-2020… F1 had become uninteresting.
@@mikaelbiilmann6826almost exactly same for me, sennas death is one of my first memories ever (seeing my father watching the ceremony) Than he showed me f1. I remember very clearly the early Schumi Ferrari days, and the following Schumi-Ferrari domination, the coming of Alonso, and Hamiltons rookie year and first title. I also remember that Alonso almost won a title in 2012 I think, but after that, basically no interest at all. I started watching again halfway through 21 when I was completely surprised that there was actually a title battle...
AI mess. Tone it down pls. I’d rather lose quality than deal with all of the horrible wiggling, but maybe less detail oriented folks don’t mind. Cool stuff though, appreciate the effort

The two session format was a waste of time when the Saturday got rained out, plus by the 2000s drivers weren't going out for the first 45 minutes.

You clearly didn't have to endure those pointless 55 minutes where only the past 5 minutes actually mattered yourself.

These cars are so small compared to todays cars. Much more space on track and the beautiful sound and look of them as well.

In this format, the first 40 minutes weren't worth watching because barely anyone was on track

I Like the sharpness of this upscaled Video. The old VHS low quality are unfortunate to watch.
