    Honestly. Stunning commentary and race production for 1979.
    Also, that was some serious commitment from Jabouille down the Hangar Straight on lap 1.

    Clay Regazzoni - a racer of the purest kind - derserves that win so much. It was so unfair how the old man Enzo Ferrari treated him at the Ende of the 1976 season..Lauda & Regazzoni was a superb team for three years at the Scuderia - In the 312 B3 during the 1974 season and then in the two stuuning T-Models in 1975 the 312 T1 and in 1976 the 312T2. All designed by the great Mauro Forghieri.

    I want to see that team rack up those results, not rack up their damage bills

    29:21 Murray talking about Alan Jones winning the Can Am championship in '78. Thats one racing faction that needs to come back. But i doubt it will with how soft as a whole everyone is. Can Am was big balls, hairy chested, V8 powered manly racing. Those cars will never be topped.

    They have fixed the unreliability of the cars but most retirements these days are driver error. The squidgy organic bit in the middle has become less reliable!

    • @quietbatperson
      @quietbatperson 2 дня назад +2

      That's rubbish lol
      Drivers very rarely spin out of races and retire on their own these days which used to happen all the time in the 70s, 80s, 90s.

    If I understood the end of this race correctly, 3rd place finished 2 laps down? At least 1 lap down. That being a common occurrence today would have everyone who shouts about how much better racing used to be, throwing a weekly fit abot bias and conspiratorial race fixing.
