An epic race. The likes of Raikkonen, Alonso, Briscoe and Pantano all entered. Raikkonen and Alonso were fighting each other directly for more than half the race!

Nick Heidfeld Explains His Struggles in 2008 - Montreal 2008 Pre-Race
One of the craziest final laps ever
I didn’t remember that BAR livery. It’s quite rare…
One of the all time great races. Cheers for uploading Ciaron. DO you think Michael would have snatched pole if not for being baulked by traffic in the final sector?
How ironic that the last commercial shown on Australian TV before that "moment" was a commercial about Goodyear tyres 😬😬😬😬
thanks ! I watch full version of this iconic race for the first time since I was high school student !!
Top vídeo show
Villeneuve’s greatest race. Also made up an 15 second deficit on the track against his teammate Damon Hill. Portugal 1996
Speed and Power
The Aficionado's race. As good a pass as you'll ever see.
Not much to say. A true classic.
Truly odd looking sidepods
What happened was The Michael tried to disrupt Villeneuve's momentum heading onto the main straight so that Michael stayed ahead, but it didn't work. Villeneuve braved it around the outside and had the momentum to out-drag the Ferrari on the main straight and take the position
Much easier.ferrari is slow shit, williams the best car that season.
@@carsismyaddiction6919Micheal had claimed if the season had more wey races he would have won. Before the season started, he had tested the car severally on the wet and said it was the best wet car he had driven until that point.
1:42:46 - that is one unhappy German. Bridgestone also showed their superiority over a stint over Goodyear here. Has to be said, without taking away from Mika's win.
That's true and is highlighted by the Benetton's going better than they had for ages here. I remember Irvine also saying that he thought that Mclaren underperformed in practice, then got it together in the race, which is probably true. I've just had a flick through and what is pretty staggering is that Hakkinen was only just ahead of DC when he passed Eddie, yet managed to pull out a lead that equated to a complete pitstop over his teammate!
The first win of the McLaren-Mercedes partnership. 27 years later, still winning together (albeit as a customer deal now).
23:16 "Shoe maker" haha
Well, at least everyone understands
Just watch as McLaren bottles Abu Dhabi as hard as Ferrari bottled this one.
Make a nice cup of tea. Get your dinner ready. And get comfortable. This race is one of the greatest duels in F1 history. Hakkinen at his best vs Schumacher at his best!
Thanks for posting this piece of evidence on why we need a German Grand Prix back on the calendar, Hockenheim or Nurburgring, either way is good. Not some weird, potentially dangerous Mariokart track in Qiddiya.
2 full races in the same evening, Ciaron is blessing us today
Indeed brother! Indeed!
1:32:55 There goes the brake disc and Frentzen's win.
14:38 - Brundle not impressed with some of the driving in the early laps!
Ignore the initial Dutch commentary in the pre-race. The race is in English commentary. 4:40 - beginning of formation lap (Hill retires on this lap).
Great era❤
What was Piquet doing driving so slow on the first 10 laps with fresh rubber ? He pitted 16 laps to go ( lap 66 of 82 ) and was 18 seconds behind Prost. Why didnt he charge hard and fast immediately ? He was going 1.5 secs faster than Prost in the last few laps. If Piquet started charging immediately he might have caught Prost with 3 or 4 laps to go.
2:00:07 😭
I was at this race. Was in one of the grandstands on the 2nd corner. The amount of Ferrari fans that got up & left when M Schumacher crashed was unreal. Has got to be one of the best weekends of my life. Weather was amazing & Montreal is a lovely city. Thank you for bringing so many memories back to me.
I found 1999 to be the best season I've ever watched. So that must have been quite an experience.
Impossible to watch these races without thinking of Schuey.
1:08:57 You're welcome
Tony Barber cooked.
Proves how smart all the doubters were.
The opposite....Kimi was amazing...
The Finals?
Does anyone know his laptimes ? How do they compare with the recent F1 race ?
Were these 100cc Nationals Super A ?
Got to watch the the BBC version without Advert breaks, Tony in the pits finds out about Prost slow puncture then Murray and James talk about it... During Australian advert breaks. You miss about 15 mins of race commentary.
They wouldn't let me upload that version sadly. We also missed Prost's pass on Mansell.
@@ciaronsmith4995 i have got that version on an old video vhs cassette. Original tape from 1986. BASF E240. If you need any old races i have thousands of F1 races recorded in English. BBC Eurosports ITV Sky.
@@hungrysurfer9471 Cheers to you mate. I'll keep that in mind. Don't lose those!
Pedro de la Rosa knows his stuff. A great great driver.
That was probably the greatest combined amount of driving talent to ever grace an F1 podium. MSC, JPM, RAI
