I loved this comic! When image came out, everyone was all about Spawn (obv) and I believe they were called YOUNGBLOODS?
But I loved Larsen's Spiderman run (of course), so I went rifgt for Savage Dragon and loved it.
Ps-- The MAXX was great too

Thanks for this focus on a character who exists outside the 'Big Two'. As a comics reader and fan, I appreciate focus on characters from various comics companies.

Such an incredible video. Erik Larsen's Savage Dragon is one of the earliest non Marvel/DC comics I read many years ago, and I still have fond/great memories of it when I read the first two full-color trade paperbacks of it that were from the early 2000s. While they are in black-in-white pages only, The Savage Dragon Archives are still a great way to experience 600+ pages of the comics created by Erik Larsen. 😊

Avoid most everything from about 2014?-2016 to Present, after a point Dragon’s son Malcolm becomes the main character and the book devolves into a porn comic

We definitely need a series in live action with adults audiences in mind.

Venom wouldn’t be relevant without Larsens art. He was the one that gave him the crazy look he’s famous for… hands down one of the best artists in comics in my opinion.

To be honest, I have never collected Savage Dragon. I have seen the comic book on the racks in the store. Savage Dragon is a very powerful character. In my opinion, Savage Dragon ought to be pressing over 100tn. If I was a writer I would give Savage Dragon a variety of breath powers; lightning breath, fire breath, ice breath, chemical breath, explosive breath, and atomic breath to blast his adversaries. Big Time! Thanks for posting here. Guy!

    Good stuff. A few corrections/critiques:
    1. ~1:30 - The wrong Captain Marvel is cited. It should be the DC Captain Marvel.
    2. ~2:15 - Probably should’ve used the cover to the first issue of the mini-series instead of the ongoing.
Could’ve mentioned that the comic runs in realtime, so thirty years have passed since the first issue. People have grown old, gotten married, had kids, and died. Dragon son has been the lead for years, and his grandkids are featuring more and more.

I had Savage Dragon, Spawn and all the other First Issues of Image Comics back in High School. They got lost in a Fire and I was so bummed, because I had so many Iconic Comics from the 90's that were destroyed. I wonder what those are worth right now, because I'd totally pay to get some of those back.
