Matt! Thanks! I was looking for info on licensing popular songs, and was happy to know about tracks website, well, that until you said is US only. Do you know any website similar to tracks for Europe? Gotta get those Ed Sheehan, and Michael Buble songs
THIS I couldn't find this info anywhere else thus far thankyou. Mine is not for weddings, but for my RUclips documentaries which include people dancing at events something like if you filmes a wedding and kept the ambient sound in the scenes. THANK YOU
Thanks for this video, Matt. I only knew of the main big ones you get ads pushed on you (plus the one Philip Bloom uses which escapes my mind). PS: if you’re ever in France around Paris, would love to invite you for a coffee
What if you give the client the wedding video and then they take it and add the popular songs themselves for shits n giggles? what's the legal grey area there?
late to the party here but I have to ask; have you or anyone you know ever actually had legal trouble using a popular song? The artists hardly ever care because it's publicity plus it's for a wedding and not the same as stealing for their own music sells. I just wonder because i've heard people say "be safe and be legal" and then also say "i've never had any problems". Especially in the current streaming environment where literally every popular song is automatically available for anyone's use on Instagram and TikTok. It's similar to the idea that the IRS really will come after you for getting a few receipts wrong on your write-offs. *I'm not a lawyer and this isn't even advice*
I'm subbed to Fryfly. I do run into issues when trying to put a song on RUclips with the automated license checker. Facebook has not been causing me issues when posting videos since they allow it once I say I have a license.
@@LorenzSTF I stopped posting to RUclips. Even with a license I was getting my audio flagged on RUclips. I do not have the issue with Facebook. It may have changed, but I’ve not tried in a year
This is fantastic! I’m excited to see what Christian music is available. Question though, how are you delivering wedding films? I deliver them as an emailed file, do you do the actual delivery through RUclips? I haven’t seen a video on this if you’ve done it. You’ve helped me a ton with your wedding tutorials, thank you!
I personally think using an online gallery like pixieset adds a nice touch to video delivery. It aslo feels a tad more personal for clients I think. And because it's an online gallery the client can easily share it with family and friends.
I love your videos, they have helped me a lot, but I have a doubt! I have a canon r6 that records 4k 10 bits 422, will the macbook pro 14'' ("best bang" from your video "Video Editing Macbook Buyer's Guide in 2022") handle this type of videos without having to create proxies to edit them ?
Had fyrfly. Got hit with a can't use that music on RUclips, and they did not care that I had a license from Fyrfly that said I could use it. The only thing Fyrfly did was said they would contact the owner of the song, still nothing. Using Fyrfly on RUclips is a risk.
@@waterstoneweddingfilms1188 Hey I know it's been a while since your comment but since u mentioned "had fyrfly", do u know by any chance how can one cancel Fyrfly membership? On the website there is no option and terms of use say the membership renews atomatically and the support doesn't answer my e-mails...
Been trying to find a solution to this for my first edit this week, really hard to find something that will allow commercial use in UK 😫 also, congrats to you both on the news just revealed on HTFW podcasts 🍼
Guys please enlighten me: if I use a popular song (not licensed) - youtube might mute it? Never happened before to me. I thought it wouldn't matter if you use it because the original author of the song will get the royalties. Has anything changed? Did you guys get videos deleted or muted? Thanx
Might be an odd question but, say I deliver the video to my client and they upload it to their facebook or youtube. The license should cover them posting it as well right? (I honestly could care less about posting it to my social but I had a client request Piano Guys and I want them to love their video)

Wow, thank you for this! I was so glad to find a very simple and straightforward answer to my question, with links!
Wow, this is just what I was looking for! Perfect timing.. thanks Matt!
Super helpful! I am definitely looking forward to using these services. It is so much easier than it was a few years ago!
Lich sounds really cool for specific cases
Just what I was looking for, thanks Matt!
0:32 Matt with the moves tho. Get it boi

What about the UK?
Thank you so much for this! I needed thisn

Thanks again for an awesome video! Hopefully Tracks Music has more territories soon to include NZ
Tracks Music is officially no longer available... sad sad day for us
Thank you! Wondering which of these you’d recommend for Indian and Arabic music?

If I ever run into an issue with a client with music licensing I’ll save this video as a LAST RESORT

If you sub to firefly then after a year you Unsub to it, do you loose the license?

Great info Matt!
So what do you do if the song you want is not on any of those sites???

tracks got taken down? :(
Any solution since Tracks Music went down? I emailed their support and they politely said they aren't coming back! Sad day.
Can you not just get a LM license from the PRS?
Cool
Thnx for this. You probably have a vid on this, but what about "normal" music license stuff. Starting videographer here
I would try Soundstripe
interesting thanks ^^
I'm in Canada, is Lickd going to work well for me? Or is it also just for Americans?

@@LorenzSTF Fyrfly offers no help when your video gets flagged, and RUclips offer no way to upload a license . I would stick to musicbed.

Will all these subscriptions cover posting on our Instagram pages?
Yes they should
Hey! Can tracks be used for short films?
I don’t think so
So can we post to Instagram without getting copyrighted?
Hopefully! Instagram can be zealous though 😬

RUclips might mute it. Also the artist or their recording label may sue you for using their song without permission.
So I posted a wedding video on instagram with Flo rida in it and got flagged and it got removed?? Why is this, I licensed it through tracks? Help?:)
I would email tracks about it
So how does youtube know that you have a Licht license for the music?
Some of the music platforms have an interface where they can tell RUclips that you have the license.

I won’t be able to find African songs 🤦🏾♂️🤔
Cut my life into pieces
A true classic
Not a fan of popular songs in a wedding film tbh..
Same, but sometimes couples demand it
dont worth it. 79$ to use it in private hahahhaa. just use spotify.
