I have been working on events for about 8 years now and I can tell you I would be freaking out trying to get the video finished 😂 my guy has some confidence and talent ! 👏👏
Did you just hired a 4th person to film BTS at an actual wedding? Seesh Kraig. Taking this Wedding Film School seriously. Thanks for all your hard work.
Just wanted to say I’ve watched this video about. Half dozen times. Love it. As a small video business owner, myself, I’m feeling the anxiety with you every step of the way, big man.
Man you are simply a badass....anyone that shoots weddings knows that you were in the pressure-cooker! Much respect and there are not that many people in this field that could pull that off!!
This was a great idea for something extra you can do for a client. It was really good to hear you say what you would leave out just due to time constraints. Good seeing your approach to saving the footage during the ceremony and essentially just having enough cards to never write over anything the day of. For all of my shoots, I backup on site, but I've always been worried about overwriting files so good logical tip.
Great tips, if you ever need a fourth shooter in NY let me know. I recently switched from Canon 5DIII to Sony AX100 4k & Sony A7rii. Just started filming with 4k & loving it, Thanks again for sharing,
+Robert Jung Will do! I am always posting help wanted requests and video gigs on my social medias so make sure to follow - @kaaadams on twitter is usually best, if not snapchat. Thanks! - Kraig
Hi Craig, pretty sure I've watched all your videos now! I've learnt so much so thank you! Will be saving for the Sony.. if your ever in London, give us a shout!
Hello friend! I have a question. When you give the final video to the customers. Do you give them the whole ceremony? Or just a full resume of everything? I wonder what I must give them. I mean do you give them the whole pastor or priest ceremony? Or just a resume? How long must the whole video be? Thanks in advance!
I shot a wedding once. The photo shoot was before the ceremony and the ceremony was delayed 45 minutes because the vale was at the hotel in a different city. So the reception happened right after the ceremony and pretty much everything from that point onward was rushed. The planner approached me and asked if we could play the video in half an hour -I had just finished capturing the ceremony. SDEs are cool, but a pain in the ass when planners don't have their act together.
My workmate said no need to buy licenced songs for SDE film. I believe we still need to licence every song for wedding films & SDE. Could you please help clarify this? Thanks a lot. I have learned a lot from your tutorials. I appreciate your effort for making such awesome videos so much.
I love your videos. I’ve always had a passion for videography and really want to get into wedding shootings. All I have is an A7ii. I’d really like more guidance into doing videos.
We do 20-25 SDE a year. I feel your stress. I hate it when I have to burn a DVD cause that the only play option. Your workflow is very similar to ours. I usually bring my owns small folding table too. Just big enough for the lap top. This way you can edit anywhere and are restricted to where ever a table is.
Really love your videos. They make me want to make better videos for even just college projects and my own RUclips channel. I don't quite have the budget for the equipment that I would want or the time to devote to it that I would like, but your videos really inspire the filmmaker in me!!
+ColbysTechReviews Can't tell you how amazing something like this is to hear Colby, seriously. I'm just a dude making videos and sometimes get discouraged but comments like this give me life, gives the channel life. Thank you brosef.
+Wedding Film School Absolutely! I'm able to take criticism well and learn from it. Sometimes there are just people that you have to turn your cheek to, but in your field of wedding videography especially, ultimately it's you and your team shooting it and it's your creative vision for the project....and personally I think your creative vision in each of your projects is awesome!
I wish we could answer but Kraig has long sense left the channel. It also may be helpful to know that most modern projectors will work for this. I’d say a minimum of 5000 lumens for use indoors during the day. Probably too pricey to get something that would project outside in full sun and also probably not necessary.
Hello, nice video awesome!!! could you give me some tips to shoot with my Canon 60d in low lights situations and to archive the best film look please? ill appreciate it so much.
Hello Kraig. You're delibaration was so well! Im interested to learn and do the SDE but im a bit confused about the flow or the (structure) of contents of SDE any tips? I would much appreciate it. Thanks.
Hey. How did you come up with a pre color graded output if you didnt usually use it in sde? Ive noticed the video has already presets? Thanks for your tip bro
Great video it was really informative. What is the deliverable? do you give to your bride and groom do you do a Blu-ray /DVD with or without menu system or is it straight to mpeg-4 file?
On the same day reaction video....where he is whispering to her....and the shot of them kissing outside....was that something you instructed them to do? Was the photographer out there too? Or did you walk them through that?
Hey ! Very interesting video ! Helping me a lot. I would like to know how so you charge for a wedding ? What to consider to put a price to make a wedding film
Scorsese doesn't know he's born. I wouldn't do that for £10k - far too much can go wrong on the day and put a dampener on the bride's day. Respect to you.
That's amazing, so much pressure in what goes into that SDE! Kraig, how long is the final video that you deliver to the couple? What's included in the package that you deliver?
great video. is there a reason you convert to pro res even though fcpx is native to 4264? i usually have no problem at all editing the footage straight out of camera. just curious what your reason is since it seems to take up a lot of time. thanks!
Muito legal seu vídeo, só não entendi o que é melhor ser feito. Descarregar todos os cartões para editar seguramente ou só descarregar o que for usar para edição?
Hi im alan rouge a videographer in oklahoma. I love that you made this video and appreciate your content a lot! I am thinking about integrating the same day edit into my wedding films but y main problem is that my laptop is so slow! It is the reason that my projects dont get done in one day and I hate it. I am driven and focused and dedicated to my work, what should I do?
Hi, great work. Can you please tell us, what was the set up and rendering format. As I heard, it was Quicktime Pro Res. How much time it took to render the edit? Thanks
+Khalid Alvi I thought I mentioned this in the video, my bad. My set up: Macbook Pro with an external RAID Thunderbolt connected drive. Rendering format: All clips transcoded into ProRes422 (optimized) except for ceremony. I rendered the clips while shooting the ceremony mostly. Lastly i think you're talking about "exporting" the edit? That took only about 2 minutes to make the 4 minute video. Hope that helps!
Hi Kraig... i'm interested in whip pan transitions. how do you decide when to do them at time of shooting?? is it just spur of the moment stuff? or do you just do a few in addition to a static shot, then tie suitable transistions later in edit? many thanks
Truly amazing and inspiring. You captures the intensity of completing a SDE perfectly!!! You should have at least 5 times more views than this. Do you have online courses? How much pre planning of the story is there before the wedding day?
Awesome video man. Seriously. Love the hustle. I have done same edits before for a few corporate videos (Just because I wanted to and was in the flow, not because I needed to I.E. part of the contract.) but it took me like 18 hours. This is VERY impressive. Cheers.
So this video is from back when Kraig ran the channel. I don’t offer SDE though I’ve been a part of a few a very long time ago. The edit was typically like 2 min or so though every company does it differently. It likely won’t be 5 or 15 minutes though as that would be pretty tough to pull off
Hi Kraig, awesome work! I would like to know wich Mac and video editing software you are using? I am french novice photographer and I would like to get some quality equipments. Thanks!
Id really like to be able to offer same day edits but I think id need help or a faster pc, but I have a very important question, how do you book clients and how do you advertise?
Off topic but quick question I film with C100 mkii and recently just bought a ronin m. I was curious your thoughts about getting a Sony a6300 to use on the ronin? Would the images be drastically different from canon to sony or is it something I can tweak in post? The 120fps on the sony with the ronin I think will be awesome but dont want it to look out of wack. Thanks for your time
+jess b It's really up to you and your audience! I know plenty of studios that produce 20 minute films, and plenty like me that focus on short form content like 5-6 minutes. The better question is what do you want to make?
+jess b I recommend trying a 3 minute film and then also try shooting/editing a 20 minute! Test the difference. How you shoot both should be very different as well. Test it yourself! What do I know?
Where is the delayed gratification? Looks like an unnecessarily stressful option, do you charge them extra for that service or is it your standard offering? Quite a lot to go wrong, laptops, projectors, drunks. Maybe if it were just the ceremony and they could watch that during the meal, perhaps yeah. Mind you, you probably get a lot of interest at that point from other potential clients. Good luck to ya.
+Kraig Adams My bad I meant 1:37, and did you animate it in final cut? or pan to the right and just cut into the same clip mirrored and then another clip?
hi kreg, i would like to know what is the responsibility of every shooter during the event and what kind of shot that they need to capture and i really really really hope one day i will have opportunities to learn directly from you ty and peace from Malaysia :)
How do you allot the correct amount of time to render? I edit in Vegas on Windows and I know the specs of computers differ the rendering time but I feel like I would be so nervous about rendering.
I have been working on events for about 8 years now and I can tell you I would be freaking out trying to get the video finished 😂 my guy has some confidence and talent ! 👏👏
This was awesome, I could feel the intensity and rush you were dealing with to get that edit done.
+that1cameraguy you are awesome. I can feel the intensity and rush of your comment being totally dope and stuff. Thanks brother.
Did you just hired a 4th person to film BTS at an actual wedding? Seesh Kraig. Taking this Wedding Film School seriously. Thanks for all your hard work.
Talk about good concentration :) just working focused on the edit while the Verve is blasting in the background, respect man...
So many useful tips!!! And the AW, HA & WOW... so important, never thought of it this way

The "Owen Wilson Wow" is my new favorite thing . Keep up the good work bro!

Very nice video. Being a bit of a new learner, I'd love for some explaining on transcoding, and how it's done. Sorry for newbie question...
Wow... super stress for you BUT it sets a new standard! Well done!
Thanks for sharing this it really helps. I held my breath the entire time!
Much respect. Great job. That takes a lot of planning and coordination. Thank you for the transparency of what goes on behind the scenes.

The SDE was amazing! Do you have a video on how you transcode your footage and file organization?
Congratulations bro!! Amazing job! I know how hard is to do this in a few hours... And the result still incredible
+Pedro Gonçalves Thanks Pedro!

Great video guys. Any tips on best system specs and gear for SDE's?
You are the BEST! Thanks for sharing this experience with us.

Your videos are awesome man! I learn a lot. I`ll be filming SDE for my cousin's wedding soon and your vids help a lot. Thank you
Make a video on how you/to create/d, and design/ed a website! It's something I'm struggling with! I'm sure it would get a lot of views! Luv the vids!😊
+Kraig Adams THANK YOU SO MUCH!
same day edits. your wild.
cycling life xD hahaha I was like wtf??? he likes to live extremely 😂 he don't give a fuck about nothing😂
I love your tutorials... do you have extra people and cameras to shoot your behind-the-scenes shots?
i can see you're very professional. when i do SDEs i dont have time for snacks haha. i can see you're very professional. thanks for the tips
For the transcoding section, you are select optimised media or poxy media when import videos? (2:52) And why ? Thanks.
one of my favorite videos you made quick question why did you have the 13in macbook pro vs the 15in?
This is amazing! May I ask what is your preference or suggestion for projector? Thank you
I wish we could answer but Kraig has long sense left the channel. It also may be helpful to know that most modern projectors will work for this. Hi,which LUTS you always use on your SDE ? Can you share it ?
Great Video! You are my best teacher
Stress full ! Good job, thanks for sharing

I want to know that too
Hey Kraig,
Thanks for the tutorial!
Do you use your own screen and projector, rent it, or use the venues equipment?
Hey. How did you come up with a pre color graded output if you didnt usually use it in sde? Ive noticed the video has already presets? Thanks for your tip bro
Hey Love your work such passion to teach. can i know which softwares you use for your video editing
showw de vídeo parabéns, gostaria de saber qual programa você uso para edição .

Please can i know what software you use for editing videos ? And love your video and thanks for your advice
I am big fan of yours and follow all your videos. I have a question just out of curiosity, Is wedding videos your full time job?
Wow, that is hardcore!
On the same day reaction video....where he is whispering to her....and the shot of them kissing outside....was that something you instructed them to do? Was the photographer out there too? Or did you walk them through that?

How do you the timecode? Some kind of hardware or feature in camera?
Nice. So when do you actually show the video? Is it after the Speeches or before?
Hi Kraig, awesome work! I would like to know wich Mac and video editing software you are using? I am french novice photographer and I would like to get some quality equipments. Thanks!
+Maximusdecimus I think he is using Final Cut Pro as his editing software.
first day even edit Saturday. Wish me good luck. I want to document everything as it was.
Id really like to be able to offer same day edits but I think id need help or a faster pc, but I have a very important question, how do you book clients and how do you advertise?

Think I'll stick with my 1 to 2 week edits! ;-)
nice can you show us our you set up your projector for same day edit.
+JR Graphics Not sure what I would show that would help illuminate anything for y'all. Just plug in the HDMI and turn it on!
Can you do a video on how to make a highlight video for a dj?
I didn't even know this was a thing...
Hey Kraig great work as always! How did you do that awesome transition at 1:55 ?
+Kraig Adams My bad I meant 1:37, and did you animate it in final cut? or pan to the right and just cut into the same clip mirrored and then another clip?
hi kreg,
i would like to know what is the responsibility of every shooter during the event and what kind of shot that they need to capture
and i really really really hope one day i will have opportunities to learn directly from you
ty and peace from Malaysia :)
Hey Kraig
What was the piano track and final song used in this SDE?
Love your vids by the way!
Great. I like the way you speak about this intense job :)
I'd love to know how much more you charge or consider charging for this type of edit, that's got to be another whole fee.
Great vid, Kraig! One things... you need to get your monitor at eye level dude. Otherwise it's early onset Quasimodo ;)
How do you allot the correct amount of time to render? I edit in Vegas on Windows and I know the specs of computers differ the rendering time but I feel like I would be so nervous about rendering.
hi, i am beginner in photography . can u tell me which video editing software you use to edit videos?
Windows Movie Maker
what lcd projector do you use kraig?
Thank you very much.. This is so helpful 👍
Great tips! Awesome edit !
Hey sir, were you using MBP 13" with 8gb or 16 gb ram?
