Hi, Joe. Thank you so much for providing me with this video. a year ago, I bought this 2020 Ford Explorer 6th Generation Limited Agate Black vehicle after watching your youtube video. I received vehicle on Christmas day from Ford Korea. It's been a wonderful time what I spent with him for a year. As an anniversary day, I want to say thank you. It's great SUV. Thank you. Joe!

04:35, you actually nailed it on the head there. Turbo engines create some carbon soot. And that can make a nice polished exhaust look nasty fairly quickly. The Limited will likely be a good seller. I'm surprised it handled well with the tire pressure at 46-47 PSI. I'm thinking the placard probably says 35 PSI.
Alot of car lots will put extra pressure in them because the tires will leak off some air if they sit for a while. This helps to not have a lot full of cars with the flat tires.
How's Ford? I've been driving Japanese cars since i got my driver's license, about 20 years ago. Every time i rent a car, i always ended up with a Japanese car. I am getting a new car next year and i am considering an American brand and Ford looks more reliable than other American brands.
Just be sure you have a fat checkbook. Moderately optioning the ST or selecting the Platinum trim will push the MSRP to nearly $60,000. The sales will be minuscule.
@@ianinohio I have no doubt Ford will sell lots of Explorers. In fact if Ford sold not a single Explorer to any US consumer the sales figures for Explorers would rank near the top of mainstream midsize crossovers as a result of Ford's fleet sales, especially to public agencies. (About a third of all Explorers go to fleets.) But if the sales of other mainstream crossovers with MSRP's over $50K are any indication consumers willing to spend that much are very likely to opt for brands with greater prestige. Furthermore, so-called performance SUV's such as the ST have extremely low take rates. They draw customers into showrooms but consumers buy less costly and more fuel efficient vehicles.
Congrats on 100k Joe!!!! I really want to see the 2019 RAV4 XSE or Limited Hybrid!!!!!!! Also, please get 2020 Toyota Highlander and 2020 Lexus RX!!!!!!!!!!!
Great review Joe I love the 2020 Ford Explorer Limited. And yes I would like see a comparison between the 2019 and 2020. Would love to see a 2019 Ford Taurus SHO before Ford gets them out of the door. Thanks Joe.
People need to start doing car seat tests for three row SUVs I looked at Explorer and with a front facing car seat in second row captains chair I could not fold/slide it up far enough to get in third row 🙅🏼♂️
Performance wise , mileage wise ,seating comfort and over all which is the best to buy ford explorer 2300cc limited 2020 model or Toyota highlander 2500cc hybrid version.
Totally agree with you on the prop rod. Shame on Ford for incorporating that outdated hood support rod. For the paltry outlay one would pay for a pair of more convenient gas struts over an, *"in your face, in your way" steel rod* , I'm sure anyone considering outlaying $50,000 plus is never going to complain...
I have a 2018 Ford explorer platinum and I love that truck unfortunately I didn’t love the payment so I got rid of it. The $500 a month lease just wasn’t my thing to pay that much every month and never own it.
Ha Joe Great Review Again. Ok O Haven't heard One Thing Bad About The ECO Bust YET So I Guess it Will Do. This Is not a bad Ride . Still Would Have The Expedition. Just Want That Extra Room . Welcome Back Tom Great Camera Work .💪💪👊👊🏁🏁🐬🐬🐬🐬
What features does this include the same as thev2017 that's what I have the heated steering wheel blind spot monitoring lane control automatic high beams panoramic sun roof massage seats park assist I have all these features are all these still there plus the ones you showed thankyou considering trading up
My BIGGEST question is what type of differentials the AWD Explorer uses, any information would be much appreciated. The ST is on my very short list of what SUV to buy next, just need more AWD System Ford Explorer Facts first. BTW: Ford routed the exhaust down to prevent soot buildup on the pretty chrome exhaust outlets.
So it can disconnect the front drive train when you’re on the highway for better fuel efficiency, hence why they call it 4WD not AWD. It cannot, however, lock the transfer case for a 50 50 clutch split while off-road, but the torque pack in the transfer case can mimic this effect. Given this vehicles low ground clearance and independent suspension, I wouldn’t want to take it anywhere where locking diffs would be required anyway.
Officers who were using the explorer were getting very ill because of the exhaust being sucked into the interior of the explorer. Probably something ford never tested (or maybe they did and they were woefully negligent) but I don’t see why he would zonk it for coming out of the bottom of the pipe. Seems like it wouldn’t be a big deal especially since you’ll never be able to tell the difference.
@@ianinohio NOW we know the REAL REASON the 2020 Ford Explorer exhaust points downward. I thought that when Ford told Car&Driver it was pointed down because of soot was kinda lame.
Here's where you're wrong on that exhaust Ford turned it down like that so the black exhaust wouldn't turn the chrome tailpipes black other than that you still do a great job I love fords you are very good at what you do
Great review! I'm still VERY hesitant to buy another Ford. I have a 14 Explorer and just like hundreds of thousands of others, I'm the victim of Fords inability to prep aluminum hoods. Paint delamination thanks to galvanic corrosion. If I go and drive a 2020, I'll he grilling my dealer about this to see what Ford will do if this happens again
Hi!!! Nice to meet you! I'm Myeong Kim from South Korea. I recently bought 2020 FORD EXPLORER Limited Agate Black color after watching your video. Thank you so much!! Wish me luck plz. :)
the only thing looks confusing to me is that controls for high beam etc. so if I want to use it I NEED TO REACH IT AND ROTATE IT TO HIGH BEAM? WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT??? it might be dangerous to look at it when rotating it to high beam. 2020 ford explorer interior design is now fantastic but I'll have zonk that rotator dial for the light controls.
Since 2004 I have had 7 Explorers. I think it's a great vehicle for $30,000 to $40,000. At $50,000+ it's just ludicrous. I'll probably not lease another. I have the 2.3L ecoboost and it gets 26 Mpg on the highway.
I wish FORD would have put more thought in the EXPEDITION exhaust PORTS like did the EXPLORER. I noticed the EXPLORER must be pretty tall since the roof line matches your BROW since you mentioned you're 6 feet tall.
Ever since their big redesign in 2011, they dont hold up. Everything seems to break and go wrong. Just a little fyi for those in the market for a 3 row SUV
Hello, Can you do the same explorer limited but in the hybrid version, are there any differences? I also noticed the door sill plates are not illuminated, kinda weird for the price tho.
21:05 - You almost bought a Range Rover. That guy in the passenger seat must've drawn blood from clutching his rosary beads so tight. Me? I would've been singing "Ave Maria" if you were driving me like that!
the Kia and Telluride are front drivers with small motors. They do not ride or handle like the Explorer. The also have no other engine choices. Every 2020 Explorer will out ride, handle and accelerate those front drive clones. Just try pushing one of them around a curve or passing someone on an incline.
@@ginsure what do you mean 'small motors' ??? I am confused...the Explorer is the one that only offers a 4 cylinder small motor in the base and limited as standard. Kia and Hyundai have standard V6s... Also your statement can't be proved true yet...the only publishing that has actually bought and is in the process of testing a Explorer XLT is CR, and this is what they had to say so far: "The engine has plenty of power and the transmission works well, but this pairing still has some flaws. Right off the bat, there is no mistaking that there’s just a four-cylinder engine under the hood. It’s a bit noisy, with a raspy quality that isn’t appropriate for a midsized SUV, especially one that costs $50,000. The sound gives the impression that the engine is really working hard. This, combined with the wind noise, quickly becomes tiresome. It can be challenging to drive the Explorer in suburban settings. When starting up from a stop, such as at a traffic light or pulling into traffic from a side street, the Explorer lurches forward. That’s followed by rough shifts from first to second gear, and from second to third. Plus, the transmission tends to hold on to a lower gear longer than it needs to, which makes the engine noise worse. Drivers have commented that the Explorer has a somewhat stiff ride around town and that they can feel every ripple and crack that the SUV drives over. The cabin's fit and finish isn’t particularly impressive either. Some of the door surfaces have different coloring, which is easy to see in direct sunlight: The black plastics around the armrest appear purple, while other panels remain black. The roof pillars are thick, especially the one just over the driver’s shoulder. These, combined with the short side-window glass and the very small rear window, make it a challenge to see out. The interior feels rather cheap and plasticky, like what you'd find in a Ford F-150 or Ranger pickup truck. We expect to find harder, work-level materials in a pickup, but not a family SUV. The third-row seat has lots of headroom, but it’s less roomy than the previous generation, lacks under-leg support, and has limited foot room. It’s best left for kids. We’re pretty disappointed by these obvious flaws in such a high-priced SUV. A fully loaded Kia Telluride is priced at just under $48,000. At that price, it has luxury-level accommodations and unique, thoughtful features, such as USB outlets on the rear of the front seats. Our Explorer comes in near $50,000 but feels like it should be much closer to $30,000."
@Hellboy and you can't afford any of them, so what difference does it make to you? How many other places have you copy/pasted that same negative article? This is at least the second time I've seen you post that crap. Better start doing your research better because your fanboi Telluride and Palisade are starting to rack up their own problems.
A new snack food to consider - Lunchables! My daughter noticed that the 2nd row center console on our new Explorer is just right for holding a Lunchable on a long trip, with maybe a Coca Cola to wash it down with of course!
I enjoy watching your video and agree with everything you say and the push button can be put down more like the 2019 kia Sorento and my basic kia is cotton seat with heated seats and steering wheel and signal light on side view mirror but 2020 explore aren't even doing heat cotton seats anymore and the signal light on side mirror you have to get the 2 expensive versions for that which is a real rip off cause it's a good feature for on the road cause drivers next to you can't, won't or possibly don't care but they can't really see your turning signal on the front or back when next to you and if ford can't step up game to people wants in the vehicle competition industry Imma just stay with kia then like ford needs to see what make and models being sold and what they're making but those small things they need to approve on oh and the location of the exhaust like to see them, not where exhaust is hiding underneath I know you mentioned that 2👍
@@RaitisRides now that I also think about it my 2019 kia Sorento has 2 different versions on seats I have the 5 seater but they also sell the 7 seater but cause I have 5 seats I have more room in hidden compartment unlike the 7 seater and for the explorer cops only have 5 seater version so why can't we get that option as well instead of 7 seater?
Nice redesign, but somebody at Ford must have bumped their head asking that kind of money for it. The Kia Telluride is just as nice and probably more reliable, all for less money. Just my just my two cents. As always, a great review Joe. 👍
A similar Kia trim is the SX, $45-50k depending on your choices. Reliability, both are brand new so hard to really argue that. The Telluride, being a brand new nameplate, is really hard to judge. Time will tell, for sure. The VW Atlas is selling well, yet reliability and build issues are abundant.. just as an example. So I guess my point is, $45-50k for a full sized SUV is kind of common these days. The public wants more tech and luxury, so the public gets what they want

How's Ford? I've been driving Japanese cars since i got my driver's license, about 20 years ago. Every time i rent a car, i always ended up with a Japanese car. I am getting a new car next year and i am considering an American brand and Ford looks more reliable than other American brands.
I’d go with the 400 HP eco boost
Same here Anthony!
Just be sure you have a fat checkbook. Moderately optioning the ST or selecting the Platinum trim will push the MSRP to nearly $60,000. The sales will be minuscule.
Stephen Hendricks lots of middle/upper middle class families out there. I’m sure they’ll sell quite a few of the ST and platinums
(About a third of all Explorers go to fleets.)
But if the sales of other mainstream crossovers with MSRP's over $50K are any indication consumers willing to spend that much are very likely to opt for brands with greater prestige. Furthermore, so-called performance SUV's such as the ST have extremely low take rates. They draw customers into showrooms but consumers buy less costly and more fuel efficient vehicles.
I'd buy the ST just for the 3 liter engine. I don't drive like nascar, but it is nice to have 400 hp when you merge into highway traffic
Joe its also to keep the back pipes clean. on the exhaust
Now I am going to have to DOUBLE my Zonk on that. I rather deal with soot.
That is the weirdest location of a start button I’ve ever seen. Overall nice ride and great review as always. Take care guys!
Check out the button on the new Focus RS. 😂🤣

Great review Joe, that all black is a no go for me....too hot in the summer.
Thanks Robert! I can totally understand that!
Great review Joe I love the 2020 Ford Explorer Limited. And yes I would like see a comparison between the 2019 and 2020. Would love to see a 2019 Ford Taurus SHO before Ford gets them out of the door. Thanks Joe.
I will get that together for you Jay!
@@RaitisRides K Thanks Joe. I really like the 2019 Ford Taurus SHO because it looks good and puts out a lot of power for it's kind.
Jay Patel look up any review of the SHO from the last maybe 5 years. It hasn’t changed.
@@ianinohio I know it hasn't changed much but I like the design of the Ford Taurus SHO 2019. Thanks though for the reminder.
Awesome review ! I love new FORD EXPLORER !
Awesome! I finally got the 4wd model.
That is fantastic! Congrats!

JOE HOW U DOING? I HAVE A QUESTION, WHEN U GOING TO SHOW THE 2020 CORVETTE? LET US KNOW. THANK U HAVE A GOOD NIGHT.
HI William! I just don't have access to the Corvette anytime soon. As soon as I do I will be all over it!
Please make sure it has engine at the front of the car
People need to start doing car seat tests for three row SUVs I looked at Explorer and with a front facing car seat in second row captains chair I could not fold/slide it up far enough to get in third row 🙅🏼♂️
Will be my next ride. Now to decide on a color ?? White black or gray
I would go black! Looks really good!
Go for black, everyone will think you are police officer
@@edwardvalivonis23 most the police cars are white where I'm at lol
Performance wise , mileage wise ,seating comfort and over all which is the best to buy ford explorer 2300cc limited 2020 model or Toyota highlander 2500cc hybrid version.
Totally agree with you on the prop rod. Shame on Ford for incorporating that outdated hood support rod. For the
paltry outlay one would pay for a pair of more convenient gas struts over an, *"in your face, in your way" steel rod* , I'm sure anyone considering outlaying $50,000 plus is never going to complain...
I have a 2018 Ford explorer platinum and I love that truck unfortunately I didn’t love the payment so I got rid of it. The $500 a month lease just wasn’t my thing to pay that much every month and never own it.
I can totally understand that!
How did you get rid of a lease early?
If you get the bigger screen, will it give you more ability’s? Great video by the way!!!
Great review Joe!

Ford is stepping up their game, already zonking the iPad screen but other than that excellent Ford!
You are so very right!
nice review and congrats on reaching 100K subscribers
It’s totally different but very recognizable at the same time. Beautiful SUV.
You hit the nail on the head!
What features does this include the same as thev2017 that's what I have the heated steering wheel blind spot monitoring lane control automatic high beams panoramic sun roof massage seats park assist I have all these features are all these still there plus the ones you showed thankyou considering trading up
Congratulations on your 100K strong.
Thank you so much for saying that and thank you for your awesome support! I really appreciate your generosity last night in the live Q&A!
I will get that info for you! I'd take the soot because that is just a big ZONK for me.
@@RaitisRides Thanks Raiti I'm an AWD enthusiast so I need to know the AWD Facts before dropping BIG Bucks and congrats on hitting 100,000 SUBS.
I thought that when Ford told Car&Driver it was pointed down because of soot was kinda lame.
awesome review
now i love to see you give your oppinion on the new GLC mercedes 2020 please
thanks heap
love from New ZEALAND
I will get that together for you!
Here's where you're wrong on that exhaust Ford turned it down like that so the black exhaust wouldn't turn the chrome tailpipes black other than that you still do a great job I love fords you are very good at what you do
I think that has to be one of the worst decision. I mean if people wash their cars as they should then that wouldn't be an issue.
You’re a very patient person I would be cursing at the Clearwater traffic
Thank you my friend!
A prop rod on a 2020 explorer LIMITED, big time zonking for sure!!
I totally agree with your Bennie!
OK, I JUST LEAVED THE CADILLAC VIDEO, FORD IS MY BRAND FOREVER!!!!

Beautiful truck I had 96 n a 03 xlt 😎🌴🏖🏝
I am so glad that You liked this one!
What’s your experience with feature, elegance, ride quality Between Palisade ultimate and Explorer limited what will be your take
I think Palisade by far or even KIA Telluride, much more technology and reliability and even cheaper.
Thanks 🙏even the crash ratings are far better. I love Fords but something always tells me no.
I can see it's going to be a hot seller! NICE!!!
I think you are right!
Only complaint I have with mine is the amount of wind noise seeping through the front windows.
Thanks for sharing your great input on this one from your ownership.

Any regrets so far with it?
@@housemusic1075 nope! It's the best car🙂
Please do the Platinum in black

the only thing looks confusing to me is that controls for high beam etc. so if I want to use it I NEED TO REACH IT AND ROTATE IT TO HIGH BEAM? WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT??? it might be dangerous to look at it when rotating it to high beam. 2020 ford explorer interior design is now fantastic but I'll have zonk that rotator dial for the light controls.
That is a very good point!
great review..explorer should have usb on 3rd row.
You are so very right!
Since 2004 I have had 7 Explorers. I think it's a great vehicle for $30,000 to $40,000. At $50,000+ it's just ludicrous. I'll probably not lease another. I have the 2.3L ecoboost and it gets 26 Mpg on the highway.
Compares to '20 Kia Telluride Prestige?
I wish FORD would have put more thought in the EXPEDITION exhaust PORTS like did the EXPLORER. I noticed the EXPLORER must be pretty tall since the roof line matches your BROW since you mentioned you're 6 feet tall.
Ever since their big redesign in 2011, they dont hold up. Everything seems to break and go wrong. Just a little fyi for those in the market for a 3 row SUV
Hello,
Can you do the same explorer limited but in the hybrid version, are there any differences? I also noticed the door sill plates are not illuminated, kinda weird for the price tho.
21:05 - You almost bought a Range Rover. That guy in the passenger seat must've drawn blood from clutching his rosary beads so tight. Me? I would've been singing "Ave Maria" if you were driving me like that!
One of the best comments ever!
@@RaitisRides While I admire your skills in semi-congested traffic, this is the reason why I barely have conversations while I'm driving, lol!
Look at that tiny screen!! The Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade have huge screens - standard...and honestly, $50k?!
I feel your pain!
the Kia and Telluride are front drivers with small motors.
Also your statement can't be proved true yet...the only publishing that has actually bought and is in the process of testing a Explorer XLT is CR, and this is what they had to say so far:
"The engine has plenty of power and the transmission works well, but this pairing still has some flaws.
The Bankers Third(or Fourth)Hot Rod-Can you imagine Mr. Drysdale driving this?
A new snack food to consider - Lunchables! My daughter noticed that the 2nd row center console on our new Explorer is just right for holding a Lunchable on a long trip, with maybe a Coca Cola to wash it down with of course!
I love the way that you think! Stay tuned!
Beautiful vehicle!! 😍

Raiti's Rides
You’re the best. Take care and thanks for all the excellent info.
I enjoy watching your video and agree with everything you say and the push button can be put down more like the 2019 kia Sorento and my basic kia is cotton seat with heated seats and steering wheel and signal light on side view mirror but 2020 explore aren't even doing heat cotton seats anymore and the signal light on side mirror you have to get the 2 expensive versions for that which is a real rip off cause it's a good feature for on the road cause drivers next to you can't, won't or possibly don't care but they can't really see your turning signal on the front or back when next to you and if ford can't step up game to people wants in the vehicle competition industry Imma just stay with kia then like ford needs to see what make and models being sold and what they're making but those small things they need to approve on oh and the location of the exhaust like to see them, not where exhaust is hiding underneath I know you mentioned that 2👍
Thanks for saying that! I really appreciate you letting me share this with you and your great input!
Zonk zonk zonk... the only guy in RUclips who is using the word ZONK 😂😂
Cool .. thank you for the whole information... very good vehicle..
