Gosh, so much emotion and little touches were lost in the final version. The Ignitus cutscene in general is just entirely butchered, it's clearly shot as more of a struggle both with the barrier and the chain, but in the game Ignitus stands around, throws them, and then they stand around and talk more.
Basically there's almost everything to cover from the storyboards to the final game and I say some of the changes are from little and unnoticeables to immense and shocking. Specially when it comes to storyboards with characters on it, the levels of expressivity are better in paper.
they all seem so much more expressive, especially Cynder. Cynder really was butchered in the final product(she should have gotten a better voice actor anyways, her VA put little emotion into Cynder :( ), and the whole entire Ignitus scene was messed up, really wish it followed the storyboard more.
Interesting comparison, some of story added and scrapped plan their own way to final production. The question is, what was originally planned for The legend of Spyro of the dragon? Isn't like Dreamworks animated those Dragons in fantasy era quality can do, it's what the creativity team decided to put into final product after pre-made behind the scenes
Primarily, time constraints as the 360/ps3 came out and the devs were tasked with upscaling the game to use the new hardware. If they were given more time, they could have fleshed it out more, added more areas, story, and content. As someone who played Dotd a lot as a kid, I didn't notice much, but as an adult? Yeah, there were several spots that were clearly rushed, scenes that are a little off, and places where there should have been more content: like Warfang.
Well they did plan on having Spyro and Cynder still be young dragons like in TEN, before Sierra wanted to age them up just for the next-gen graphics and flight mechanic.
The restrictions of the 3D models of the time have never been more obvious to me until I saw this. What they intended to make versus what they could actually afford to do.
@@ZaneNotZayne The script was confirmed to be a legitimate real copy by one of the movie writers, which I myself have reached out to confirm. It's closest to what the LOS movie was going to be about, and... ew. They butchered the LOS story and I’m glad it wasn’t made.
@@ZaneNotZayne They aren't. If they do make a Spyro Movie, it would be based on the mainstream Spyro aka Reignited Spyro. The reason the cancelled Spyro movie was Legend-based was because the Legend of Spyro was active, but it isn't anymore.

I love it! 😉👍
Imagine if we got the movie instead of the skylanders show on Netflix
Ew. With the LOS movie script that got leaked, Skylanders Academy is WAY better.
@@CrystalBlazier leaks aren't always true though

The 2D drawings are quite wonderful.
well concepts always look better than 3d
