    Yonex VCore 98 2021 tennis racquet review
    Weight (unstrung) : 305 g
    Balance : 31.5 cm
    Swingweight : 325
    Head Size : 98 in² / 632 cm²
    String pattern : 16x19
    Beam width : 22,5 mm / 23 mm / 21 mm
    Stiffness : 66 Ra
    Length : 68.5 cm / 27 in
    Summary of my review of the Yonex VCore 98
    The Yonex VCore 98 (305g) falls into the category of somewhat demanding rackets, due to its slightly high weight and slightly reduced power.
    The racquet is not very hard to play but you still have to be able to produce power.
    Access to top spin is correct without being extreme, maneuverability is good with a slight feeling of weight in the head, the racquet provides good comfort and good forgiveness.
    To whom I would recommend the Yonex VCore 98
    Considering the technical characteristics of the Yonex VCore 98 Racket (305 g), I would recommend it to tennis players:
    of an intermediate or advanced level (not for beginners),
    able to play with a somewhat heavy racquet,
    which are able to produce power with their game,
    who have rather large and relaxed swings,
    who are looking for control without wanting a racquet that is too hard to play, too control oriented,
    with a modern game, aggressive with topspin, without extreme topspin,
    who are looking for a racket with a head size of 632 cm² that is comfortable and forgiving.

      I always try to simply give my feelings. It's not really important that I can't play with the racquet, I try to say which players could be interested in.

    Jean-Pierre, So nice to see you back….. Get well, my friend….I love watching you hit….wish I had your strokes…you have hit with a lot of racquets, suggest a few that you think are forgiving for a senior and very good for the one- handed backhand . Right now I am trying out the Blade V8 16x 19 and the extreme auxetic mp.Thanks, Ciao, John

      Thank you for your message. Well, I lack infos about you ; level/game style/age/injuries etc. to give you some good advice. Extreme MP is forgiving, much more than the Blade 98. Wilson Clash 100. Tecnifibre TX-X1. Yonex Ezone/VCore 100.

      @@team-tennisenglish1514 : Thanks, John Pierre ….I am a senior (74) singles player who plays at a 4.0 level… great shape…. Do have a history of shoulder, wrist injuries, but no problems the last 10 years. I do use a SW forehand grip, but tend to hit flat. One- handed backhand… hit mostly drives, slice….I need a good feel because I have soft hands and use touch shots, drop, etc. The Extreme does have a nice feel, but it has a thicker hoop, not sure on touch, and I do think it is intended on those who rely on spin…I am trying the Blade 16x19; however , its specs are way off, more head heavy and grip size off too… shitty quality control. I am going to try the 18x 20…. VCore 98??? I want a racquet that is good for the one-hander…. I admire the way you strike the ball….I want to hit like you😀… Also, all of my racquets are strung with Babolat VS gut in mains 55, rpm blast in cross 52… maybe I could tweak the strings. Ciao, John

      @@johnnacke893 In my opinion you target racquets too hard to play, too control oriented. I'd forget the Blade 98 16x19 or 18x20 and VCore 98. If you really want a 98 head size, the easiest are Babolat Pure Drive VS, Head extreme tour, Blade 98S, Head Radical MP. But I'd advise a 100 in frame easy to swing ; prince tour 100P maybe.

      @@team-tennisenglish1514 Thank You so much, John Pierre….I think you are spot on: The Blades don’t feel right. The Extreme auxetic mp feels better…Can’t get the Blade 100 or the 98s n this country, only the 104…I really respect your opinion and will follow your advice. I hope you feel well and are able to play again…. What racquet are you playing with now? Ciao, John

    Vcore98 is bigger then my head speed... Vcore98 is not small , it is also bigger then my ezone98....put Vcore98 on top of other rakets n check head size

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад +1

      Putting a racqket on top of another is not a precise way to measure head size. VCore 98 is 632 cm², same as EZone 98. Speed MP is 100/645 cm². The shapes are different but among Yonex there remain the same, rather rectangular.

    Great! Which string do you use in your vcore 100?

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад

      I think it's a Tecnifibre multifilament, I don't remember which one. Maybe NRG2 or TGV.

    Would you say that the vcore 98 2021 or wilson blade 98 v6 without countervail is more comfortable? I had arm issues in the past, but seem to be fine now. Would you recommend either racquet?

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад

      I'd say it's close but both racquets are a bit demanding. Personnaly I'd fear a bit to play with any of them. I think I would need a bit more easy power. For comfort, maybe you could see the Wilson Clash 98. A bit heavier but easy to swing.

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  2 года назад +1

      Ezone 100 more powerful, a bit less manoeuverable, access to top spin rather close, maybe a bit better with VCore.

      @@team-tennisenglish1514 Thanks JP. I ended up buying it the other week and it’s exactly like I thought it would be. “Blade on steroids” I will keep the 100 handy though for whenever I feel like I’m not swinging as usual. Sorry to hear about your injury. I had to play club champs mens dubs final(with a tight lower back) at the weekend all with D1 guys and my back is still in bits. Hopefully nothing long term though considering I’ve found the perfect bat now 🙏🏻

      @@team-tennisenglish1514 Yes I have started to do specific stretches and know what to introduce to strengthen it. Injury sadly comes from my job which involves a lot of driving….
      I would say this frame would be easy for you from what I see once you are recovered. I also hit a few one handed BH’s with it briefly and it feel far better on that shot over the 100. My slice also felt way better too.
