Been waiting for a solid review of these V Cores. Hoping to get my hands on some demos asap. Looking for something like a Blade but with a little extra help since I’m getting a little older. Maybe even the extended versions in the future.
This is exactly me. Been playing with Blade 98 models for years but I’m getting older (33 😅) and need some extra help, especially on the serve so that I don’t need to swing 100% max all the time
@@tdc_2021 that’s hilarious, I’m 33 as well 😂 I am also in the same boat with the serve, I can hit 120’s but I hate having to do that physically consistently. Going 100 percent like you said around this age takes it’s tole. Looking for something like a Blade that will assist me and I can swing 80 percent ish and get the same results. Good luck with the hunt for something that can do that! I think this may be a solid option judging by the review.
In your opinion, if you had to choose one YONEX racquet to go to battle with for DOUBLES only, which would you choose? Would that change if you were 65 years old? I would be grateful for your thoughts.
The 2023 VCore 95 is piquing my interest… I’m a 4.0 senior with a one- hander… My Questions: Can you hit flat with this racquet? Can you hit touch shots? Slice? I don’t need more power (maybe on serve). I can hit with some top… but not a staple of my game. Ciao, John
VCores seem to be popular in Juniors now and especially more double-handers though the VCore 95 is rare to witness. Would be interesting to see a video comparing Vcore 95 and Vcore 97's especially in one hander players
Hey guys, thank you so much you were the firsts on this one. What a great team! To bad we cannot buy from Belgium! About the 98's manoeuvravility, did you measure it? Compared to the v7? Thank you guys!
I'll get a couple of those new Vcore 95, put a couple of grams of lead at 10 and 2 and string it mid-40's with a soft / shaped poly in a thin gauge. Done.
The Vcore 95 is so good that I could hardly believe it. The feel of a well connected shot is one of the most satisfying things I've ever felt in a racket. Don't test it -- just buy it -- you're welcome! P.S. I added a couple of grams at 12 o'clock
Great reviews ! Interesting to see all those different opinions from great players. I’m wondering if you measured the swing weights on the different models ? Any significant change from the previous version ?
Good question - we have a Yonex Precision scan so will 100% do this for you when we get a chance. This was a sneak peak for us as not released for another month. The Yonex rep made sure they were swiftly taken away after 🤣
I've heard that the stiffness has been lowered on the v7 update. Did you notice any change? I play with the 95 v6 currently, and I'd avoided the 98 previously because of the stiffness, but if it's gone down I might give it a try again. I also have illusions of grandeur haha.
Also a fan of vcore95, but .more v5 version with added weight, also tried v6 but couldnt gel with it and also felt a bit muted, how do v7 and v6 compare in some characteristics? Would like to use a lighter vcore95 actually.. (currently using older vcore 98+ mainly with 22mm beam)
can you make a video reviewing the cheaper versions of ezone and vcore (ace, game, feel) for those who are just started and want to see what best for their style. thanks a lot
thanks for the video! Would be great to hear any feedback from any of your playtesters how the new vcore 100 compares to the other top spin-friendly new racquets that just came out, the new Pure Aero and the Extreme MP, since those models would be its closest competitors in this space. Thanks!
@@allthingstennis Need to see the result of the ball after they hit it not sure why this vid thinks we want to watch the players swinging rather than seeing what effect the racquet had on the ball...
hi, you make very good videos. especially when a top player chooses a new racket. which string is strung on the new Vcore? polytour spin? many Greetings
We had two of each models so either strung with Poly tour pro or Poly tour strike. Yonex always send their rackets to retailers unstrung though just fyi
Interesting review. I'll have to try the new line out. I always thought the current gen VCore 98 was overrated; for me, at least, it did not have easy access to spin (despite the marketing), it was powerful enough but also not very forgiving. The Gladiator tennis folks seemed to agree with that assessment if memory serves. I thought both the current VCore 100 (even though I don't normally like 100 sq in heads) and the VCore 95 to be far superior. Just my opinion. Interestingly, I've not had that reaction to the Ezone line.
Hello, I've been playing this Vcore 100 2023 for about 2 weeks now, I found it a little too light and want to increase it to 310gr. How would you recommend how should I add weight lead by keeping the same. In other words I want same racquet at 310gr unstrung. Thanks
@@allthingstennis I've demoed the 2023 Vcore 98 and 100 for the past week and the 100 was the clear winner for me. The 100 had more free power (but controllable), great on serves, and created really nice pace on my forehand. The Vcore is somewhat muted, which I prefer, and very plush. The main issues I had with the 98 is that it had more flex than the 100, so I didn't feel as connected. Overall, a really great racket and one that I'm considering purchasing. I currently play with a 2018 Head Speed Pro.
Great stuff. Love seeing quality players demo the VCores. Did they share a flex for the 95 and 98? Definitely going to demo both. I play current 98, but overlooked the 95. Won't make that mistake again.
@@MMm-kp7lk lower RA surely makes it more easier on the arm, and more feel or not depending on the dampening technique, some would just dull it down and makes it less enjoyable in the sound dept. But with lower RA also usually means less control as the racket flexes more it gives a more of a spraying effect, makes it harder to go for the lines if that's your thing.
Yonex needs a VCore95 16 x 19 Option for those looking for more spin in a 95 incher. The 98 does not feel as sweet for OHBH and still nothing from Yonex suits a OHBH or generates spin better than an ancient Yonex RD-7 for 95 inches. Even Wilson 6.1 18 x 20 generates more revs than any vcore 95 model. Going thinner than 1.20mm has durability issues with the vcore 95. Head prestige 95 user atm yet still missing Yonex.
The main issue with the Vcore 95 was it was so head light and on impact you get more vibrations and are more prone to getting tennis elbow, it would be interesting to know if the head light balance had been changed. Of course you could add lead tape to increase the weight but you reduce racquet head speed as result as it 310gs unstrung already. I had to got to last years Ezone and that was the solution.
Higher luanch angle, is good or bad for the slice ? I am playing with VcorePro100 since 3 years, but maybe i need something a bite more powerfull. But i don’t Want loose thé feeling and the control of my slice in backhand and i love cross short angles with my forehand or offensive flat along the line. In serve, I use slice and Kick. Never flat. Better for me to stay with my VcorePro100 or change for Vcore100 or Vcore98?
Really good content and getting early access to the 2023 VCores for reviews in english. 😅.. Would also be great to have an in depth review and comparison of the 95 version and the main differences between 2018 & 2023 models. In particularly the feel, since 2023 now has softer frame and RA stiffness rating. Thanks again.. Cheers!! 🎾🎾🤓
2018 all red one had a flex of 62 with no VDM which really mutes the frame and vibrations and in a sense some feel; the was the real complaint of the 2019 version it was more comfortable but more muted feel. I believe the swing weight was a little higher on the 2018 version. Supposedly they didn't change the specs in terms of static and SW on the new one. But the new one is even softer at a 61 RA but still has VDM but heard it has a very plush feeling to it with more feel then the out going model they widened the frame a little at 10 and 2 oclock to expand the upper hoop thus improving stability. More people tend to hit in the upper part of the frame anyway. Personally I didn't care for the feel (or lack thereof) in the outgoing model. The 18 version had a thinner beam throughout the outgoing model they added a MM to each part of the frame this just changes how the racket swings. With the new one they made the hoop thicker but the throat thinner then the outgoing model. But reducing the RA by 4 is a big change and I expect that to reflect in a much better feeling and playing racket. They have a huge winner on their hands if the initial reviews are any indication.
No Goran- they have updated this model with liner tech which straightens the strings by reducing the string entry angles in select grommets so the main strings are elongated.
