May our Lord Jesus Christ Bless your Excellency Bishop Williamson; a beautiful, and very relevant sermon, as to what our expectations as Roman Catholic faithfuls should be with regard to the recent US elections. Indeed, the forces of evil are lying in wait to continue their planned malevolence.

Thank you Bishop Williamson. You spoke of the USA as having been gifted for a time with common sense. I just finished a history of the presidency of Abraham Lincoln. It occured to me that for most everyone who voted to enshrine the prohibition of slavery in the USA it was an act of charity. Most of those involved did not gain anything personally from their vote, and generally many of them sacrificed something to do so. My point is that by doing so, an act of charity that would affect an entire nation and the whole of western world far into the future, it is reasonable to believe God rewarded the USA with an abundance of grace, which has carried us through many decades and which led to a harvest of many souls for God as the Church in this nation grew very large for a time...but it would seem the well has begun to run dry. I could be wrong, of course, as I am fairly limited in my understanding of things, but it was a thought I had about this nation and the charity shown by so many in the middle of the 19th century in America.

We Americans have to start someplace.
    Loss of Faith,
    Loss of reason....
We are literally fighting for sense and sensibility.
And we Catholics need to convert Americans to Christ's Faith and Church.

Pentecost (Shavuot / Feast of Weeks) ) is a Torah Festival. A pilgrim Torah Festival that the Hebrew Messiah ordered His true twelve Apostles to keep/observe/obey, by waiting in Jerusalem when the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) was given to them (on the Torah festival of Pentecost). [Acts 1:4-5, Acts 2]
The Hebrew Messiah had already ordered his followers (Hebrew and gentile) to live a Torah obedient lifestyle (Matthew 5:17-20, Acts 15:21).
Choosing parts of the Hebrew Torah religion does not justify changing Torah and/or the Hebrew Messiah’s commands; Sabbath is still on the 7th day of the week (“saturday”), not changed to the 1st day of the week (“sunday”). But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg for alleged apostasies (teachings against Torah/Hebrew Messiah’s commands).
    [Thank you for soliciting comments.]

Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Testament, which includes the Torah and the Mosaic Law. He was the focus point of all Judaic prophecy. At the point of His death He fulfilled the old and by His command started the new, which He built on His Rock under the protection of His Mother. The Torah is therefore important as the beginning of the Word of God, but is no longer the law and hasn't been for 2000 years.

Very good Roman Catholic theology! You have been well trained. However, have you not biblically seen how Torah obedience continued for Hebrew-Messiah believing Hebrews AND gentiles after the ascension of the Hebrew Messiah?
The Hebrew-Messiah believing gentiles were instructed (by the true Twelve Apostles) to attend Hebrew synagogues (in their respective home towns) every weekly Torah Sabbath to learn and obey Torah (Acts 15, please read the entire chapter for context, then focus on Acts 15:21).
This alone is a “mic-drop” proof text but, there’s so much more. Watch James speak of obeying Torah (the Law) after the Hebrew Messiah’s ascension (James 4:11-12):
“Do not speak against one another, brothers. The one speaking against his brother or judging his brother speaks against the Law and judges the Law. But if you judge the Law, you are not a doer of the Law, but a judge. There is one Lawgiver and Judge, the One being able to save and to destroy. But who are you judging the neighbor?“
[“Torah” is referred to sometimes as “the Law,” because of its’ many commands, including the categorized 10 commandment's, which every other Torah commend fits into (i.e., one cannot truly love YHVH with all their heart, mind and strength if one is not observing Torah festivals).]
Listen to what John taught, after the ascension of the Hebrew Messiah (1John 5:1-3):
“Everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone loving the One having begotten Him also loves the one having been begotten from Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we should keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
Doesn’t sound like Torah obedience has been abolished, does it? There are so many post-ascension (of the Hebrew Messiah) biblical verses that instruct the continuance of Torah obedience, to both Hebrew and gentile, it’s amazing any counter teaching survived for so long, I’ll give you one more.
Did you know that the Bible defines who is a “Saint!” After the ascension of the Hebrew Messiah, John says:
“Here is the endurance of the saints, those keeping the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” -Revelation 14:12
True “Saints” obey Torah AND believe in the Hebrew Messiah! The Hebrew Messiah taught (from the verse they you quoted):
“For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth shall pass away, not even one iota, nor one stroke of a letter, shall pass away from the law, until everything should happen.
Whoever then shall break one of the least of these commandments and shall teach others the same, he will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whoever shall keep and shall teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.” -Matthew 5:18-19
We test our biblical interpretations by reading the entire context of any verse/verses. That way, no one can trick us to interpret the exact opposite meanings of smaller sections of scripture. If we place the interpretation that you’ve been taught into the Matthew 5 quotation, it would be saying: “I did not come to abolish Torah. But after I fulfill every applicable Torah command, I’m going to abolish Torah.” Oops! That does not work! You (and others like you) have been tricked to assert that the Hebrew Messiah contradicted Himself.
The best lies sound logical to our biblically illiterate minds. But. take scripture more seriously then any denomination, and something entirely different emerges. That is the choice and the test that confronts all of us.
[Before you cite Saul/Paul as having a superior viewpoint on this topic (superior to the Hebrew Messuah), please review JesysWordsOnly on Doug’s RUclips channel. This next topic is too large to address here. You mentioned 2000 years. Satan has been extremely busy during some of that time-frame, you know. Do not be surprised if there are some more hills to climb from generational acceptances of biblically illiterate theology.
What is the reaction when waking-someone-up who was enjoying their slumber? After getting over your anger at me, please look up my referenced scriptures (and others) and see for yourself.
And please do not find assurance in your membership to an extremely large organization:
“Enter through the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad the way leading to destruction, and many are those entering through it. For small is the gate and narrow the way leading to life, and few are those finding it.” -Matthew 7:13-14
Pray to the Father (YHVH) in the Hebrew Messiah’s name, ask for biblical wisdom, pray against Satan who wants you to remain without biblical understanding, and repent.

@@CMBCanfield I can assure you there was no anger there, so nothing to get over. I was just telling you how things are now, it is your choice should you listen. I do however find it interesting that people who do a lot of quoting and scripture referencing, without proper guidance as to what those things mean, have very little substance or real understanding.
That is one of the gifts of the Catholic Church that Christ founded - the Holy Spirit. The One who guides, inspires and leads and has done through the centuries since Christ. We can not rely on man's interpretation, that's why we have thousands of different 'religions'...all thinking they are "the one". I listen to the Holy Spirit via the theologically sound men He has chosen to enlighten through His Church. Those who think they know better than the Holy Spirit (present company accepted?), well, their words mean little.
Have a nice rest of the day.
