But the church would rather have you believe that the wages of sin is apology. Christ died for the entire sin of the world. The issue was resolved some 2000 years ago. Please understand this. They will be long also because it's december. But even if you are not yet ready for confession, please still go up to get a blessing. Just cross your arms accross your chest. Those graces will encourage you to do a proper examination of conscience. More people are doing this instead of just going up and maybe receiving Holy Communion improperly. The other thing to prepare for confession, is not go to Eucharistic Adoration. It is tough, standing, sitting or kneeling there, without being an unblemished lamb, but you approach Jesus. You show you do repent.
This is what I like most Priest needs to do today. Regular sermons are great but we need to educate or re-educate the faithful about our Catholic faith. Mainly because of the bad rap, of sexual abuse. They’ve made comments about this very subject. No need to confess, but only to God. We have explained it many times. I put off going the first year back in the Catholic Church. Then when I did go I had everything written down but was too ashamed to confess. For a month it was hurting my soul. Yesterday (Saturday) I left work and returned to the confessional. I broke down crying. The Priest had soft and comforting voice. As I said the Act of Contrition I sobbed like a little child. Then at age 19 years I had an inner conversion and I too wrote down all my sins that I could remember, with the help of the Companion of Youth prayer book which I had received whilst studying at a St. Don Bosco school. I then read out all my sins to the priest in the confessional.

Tremendously excellent excellent presentation about confession and the priesthood for you couldn’t have explained it better for Jesus indeed cured people and even said that your sins are forgiven but he also said go show your self to the priest and offer your gift or the gift I’m not sure how to say exactly what scriptures say.But what I’m noticing about what Jesus is saying to other people when he cures them and says your sins are forgiven is that Jesus also says in the scriptures that that you may know that the Son Of Man Has Power To Forgive Sins I say to you rise up and take your bed and go into your house. Now what non Catholics don’t understand is that Jesus is also referring of what he said and did by forgiving sins is that he Jesus allows his apostles to forgive sins also by his infinite and eternal power of being God the Son and the Son of man

Father Chris, you have a lot of knowledge thank you so much you teaching me. Thank you God be with you.
Now what non Catholics don’t understand is that Jesus is also referring of what he said and did by forgiving sins is that he Jesus allows his apostles to forgive sins also by his infinite and eternal power of being God the Son and the Son of man
Thank you for this clear and concise reminder of what I used to know, but have pushed to the back of my mind while living a hectic and empty life.
Yes, please be open to God's grace
