I’m trying to walk a similar path, though starting my journey quite a bit older than you were then, or even now. I appreciate your knowledge, and the fact you are so down to earth makes these lessons more enjoyable!

When I'm home I would sing a lot and sometimes I'll get complaints about me being too loud, so I would end up trying to sing higher in chest voice while turning down the volume, it honestly made my neck stiff and it would be a struggle for me to reach for the high notes, what I realized about that was because I was approaching it wrong, one day I told myself, you know what, I'm gonna just sing no matter what everyone else think, and I sang higher than I've ever sang up until then, the problem was my own self. What I'm saying is that sometimes it's your own mentality that holds you back and causes stage fright, I've had Stage fright from the age of 4 to 15, I still have some lingering stage fright, but once I tell myself this is how it's gonna be, then it'll be if you prepared for it.
One of the hardest lines for me to sing is from the song "You're So Vain" "I bet you think this song is about you, don't you, don't you" because -they- those notes land on my break.
One question. I am from Germany and I have been wondering ever since what is meant if Americans talk about the Bay Area. Where is it located? Google shows various results.

head: up to C6
i can belt G4 in chest without straining
