I don't know who's holding the shit, i don't want to, cause sometimes, Ignorance is really bliss. You could find stolen cars, trucks, bycicles, skateboards, whatever the fuck you want to buy at a cheaper price. And everything you buy gets delivered to you in a few days, in an anonymous pack, with no courier, nothing. Also, please, if you access through TOR, make sure you have a swedish/norsk VPN active. VPN hide your IP even better than TOR does. Why from Sweden? Cause they're not willing to sell your information to anyone. Others may. I did have access to those kind of sites, just to take a quick peek (a quick peek that lasted several hours), and trust me, it wasn't worth it. Why? I use the "Darknet" all the time. Like you said, you have to have the URL for a site, you can not search them, so you will find what you want to find. It is no different then the regular web if that's all you want to use it for. Have I seen the drug and gun sites, yes I have, out of curiosity.
